Above average performance by myself to get 3rd from last after 2 laps Had some quality racing along the way, Alex being the standout rival. I was quicker, but he drove excellently & I just couldn't find a way past for ages... & ages! Well done to Navin, in a class of your own tonight... now get yourself in one of the slow cars Somehow, I've snuck into 2nd in the hunt for the title . Further inspection shows that I'm theoretically ahead of Ade currently due to there being a drop score (at the end of the season), Lorenzo & Navin are extra close too... but we all need Mike to find another feeble excuse to miss one of the final three races to stand a chance. With Clive, FMG & particularly MJ (despite his lucky 2nd tonight) some way behind Cheers chaps, good one. p.s. Calling all 'Team Oldie' drivers, would be good to see you for the next couple of weeks to have a chance to snatch 2nd, off the soggy bottom team

p.p.s. Congrats to Ade & Geoffers on their hard fought Lap records There was some stiff competition for the Gp5 lap record, I can tell you! Once again I spoilt my race in the pits, 3 times! . Had a great run in 4th place early on after getting past the fast starting Ade. Was lapping as quick as the front 3, but not quick enough to catch them. Lorenzo spun off & PR pitted & I was up to second. Then the PITSTOPS, arrrrghhh. My pit was near the pit entrance (I checked it in practice), so when I came in why did I think it was at the other end!!!!! Must be an age thing Of course I sailed straight past my pit & to make matters worse I got an S/G for speeding. So not only did I have to pit again for fuel & front tyres, but had to pit again for the penalty. After the stops I don't think I saw another car, except for those in the pits, & some how managed to finish 5th. Congrats to Navin, Mark & Legzy.

That race went about as well as I could image even with the SnG because I too went too fast in the pits. The start was a little weird for me.. Not sure if anyone else noticed anything weird with their start but it seemed that I really bogged the start even with high revs and expected to be freight trained going into turn 1 but as soon as I looked behind I somehow had a decent gap from 2nd. I was very pleased to see that Paulo and Lorenzo were duking it out for 2nd but even with that they were no more than 2 seconds behind me so I was really worried that once one of them cleared the other they would run me down in a hurry. Lorenzo dropped of at some point to pit I guess and then Paulo was soon after. So I just tried to run some consistent laps till my stop. I stopped around lap 25-6. Fueled up and put soft tires on for the shorter 2nd run. Didn't realize that this track has some sort of speed limit so once exiting I got my SnG. Went around once and then hoped that 50 mph was slow enough in pit lane. Served my penalty and then exited 12 seconds down from Mark J. I had about 9 laps till the end so I just put my head down and put a string of fastest laps together to get to Mark J. Like Mark said I got a good exit on the last corner and was able to draft pass him which was a good thing because shortly after that my tires were knackered from pushing them so hard. It was too bad that so many had connection problems. Lorenzo being one of them I think as he just disappeared in front of me after he had pitted. Grats to Mark J for 2nd place and probably being one of the few that didn't botch the pit stop. Also to Legzy for a solid 3rd place podium Now we all know to test the pits before the race I hope we can all avoid the kaos again Sorry Mike you didn't make the race but you are a good man for taking care of your family first Also to SpecialKS it does sound like you need to enable the terrain patch. Once the new server is up check and see if that was it otherwise please let me know if I can help via PM here or at GTLDK. We have chat working well in GTLDK now so if you have any more issues we can get it sorted out asap . Cheers

I'm disappointed guys, but I had a lot of troubles with my pc during these days... I guess it's an hardware problem, cause my pc don't want to start at all since 2 days... I put my hard disk on the older pc and it's working, so the trouble is not the hd... 1 thing less to check... I hope to join the next race, if my pc will let me do it... sorry Legzy, I leaved you alone :'( :'( . Grats to all finishers, I hope to be more useful in the next races for the Oldie. P.S. Grats for the podium mate!!!

Then when I got under way, the darn thing tells me that I have a SnG for speeding in the pits, although it states clearly in the race announcement that this cannot happen!
Some courses do inflict a speed limit in the pit lane. P&G does not, but occasionally, the course itself does. It is wise to test this before each race (offline race weekend). I do so and remember to warn everyone when before the quali session. This isn't something I normally test while deciding on tracks to be used for the race. I just don't have the time to mess about like that Mike. A few laps when I find out what track we are using and the next time I see it is usually the pre-race practice where I have to make up my mind what car I'm using and which tyres. Looking for a pit lane speed limiter is not high on the list. I think that your handicap system is very good but to be perfectly honest, the best "fun" that I get with PnG is from the Gamers-Crib races on Tuesdays. Two short races in two different classes of car. Not a pit stop in sight!

An almost sure podium, to a last place in race and a final 6th place. I was running less than 2 seconds behind Navin for almost 20 laps, untill the pit stop went rubbish. The race announcement is clear about pit limiter! I can't do all races, I have no time to practice any race at any SIM, therefore I have no good expectations to a nice final championship result. However, this race should be cancelled. However, I like the challenge to race in front, even if I don't fight for a tittle. That was my joy last night untill pitting.
Congrats for your pace Navin and to podium.
Again, Bill has done an excellent job when been lapped.
Cheers

Indeed Lorenzo, you were pressuring me all over the place, was good fun trying to hold you and at the same time trying to catch Navin. It was a nice race untill the pit stop.

Thanks PR, it's the only racing maneuver I'm any good at - I get so much practice in all forms of racing.

And you had no notification after that you needed to serve a stop and go? I dont see why people are blaiming Mike for their lack of preperation. How do you know where you need to stop? do you need to stop in a particular position? Many addon tracks have particular quirks when it comes to this. It doesnt take anytime, rather than hitting escape just carry on and drive into the pits.

The race announcement states there is no pit limit in these events. I rehearsed my entry at the end of quali and my limiter kicked in as I passed the green light and I entered the pit lane. This put a doubt in my mind, so I asked the question during the race countdown and was assured that there was no limit. Everyone would have seen that and so would not expect to have to use their pit limiters. It's not a question of attaching blame as anyone can make oversights. I do think it ruined the race for many though (not for me...I managed to do that all by myself ) As for my race; I was a couple of seconds quicker in the fezza but chose the L76 Roadster as I really enjoyed it at Road America. Had a good start but braked slightly later than planned into T1 and this combined with some early brakers meant I had to take to the grass to avoid contact, which put me last Enjoyed battling my way back, but made too many mistakes. My favourite one was doing a 360 off the inside of the kerbs which I perfected by about the 4th or 5th attempt, to the point where it was hardly costing me any time Had a nice little battle with Sandor who chased me down and managed to pass me into T1 on the final lap, which kept me awake till the end. Congrats to pody and those who finished.

I remember it perfectly. You are right GT, noone is blaming anyone. Period. In my case, I just stated a humble opinion concerning the race and the pit stop limiter issue.

I'm not blaiming Mike at all, that is your wrong reading I knew where to stop because my box was at the end of the pit lane.
