Did some more laps on this 'I foresee a huge amount of drama' - track tonight, and did a 2.19.800 What laptimes are you guys doing ?
Stig / Hotkeys
Haven't done one yet but may be on the server tonight. For me, having to learn a new track every week is a pain in the bum!

Just did a few laps. This is actually a pretty cool track, very Lake Garda/Como type scenery and runs like a special tarmac stage that you used to see on the monte carlo or corsica rallies etc Not had a chance to learn it yet but hope to get some laps in before the race tomorrow eve.

It's a bit of a Yugoslavian sunny holiday resort version of Sachsenring, fast in parts with lots of opportunities to get stuck up a banking/lamp post/run over a dog. Not a complex track, but still requires a lot of learning to know just how fast you can do some sections. Not sure I can shave off 5 secs Stig what car were you running? so far I have only tried the Aussi Mustang.

Stig what car were you running? so far I have only tried the Aussi Mustang. I'm in the Shelby GT 350 SCCA. If you wanna try out my setup, get it here: http://www.mediafire.com/?08j6hbemfg2hc57Here's a replay file: https://www.yousendit.com/download/WTNMZXQwNkdtNEt4dnc9PQAs you can tell, it's very far from a 'clean' lap, so my gues is, that the aces could cut 1-2 seconds of my time I use medium tyres in front, but I get the same laptimes using the softer tyres. Didn't really get any time to practise for this, so it was on the job training. Was having a really enjoyable scrap with Geoffers, he was obviously faster through the twisty section but drove like a gent & didn't try to force past & then I was able to eek out a gap gradually over the rest of the lap... & replay for about 5/6 laps Sadly I lost it through the twisties & he was clear away. Thought I might manage a similar scrap with GT, but just as we were about to engage, I hit the end of a wall & had to Esc quickly before he collided with me. Nice track, good car choice, but maybe a shorter race would be a good plan for these fun races

Nice little battle for a few laps there Legzy, was quite enjoying it. Unfortunately just after you left I hit the end on a row of bales & killed the engine, so that was my race over. :'(

Think I will stick to the straight forward sprint races in future.
Hate the track by the way. Took me three attempts to find my pit crew (amongst all the stray bods that were standing about) then I found that the one button that didn't seem to be mapped, after my recent rebuild, was the one for switching off the ignition.
I figured that this meant that I couldn't finish the race, so I left.
How about a series based on the standard tracks that came with PnG? I haven't used over half of them so far!

Well maybe that one was tougher than I originally thought; only 2 finishers. I crashed out with 2 laps to go in one of those rediculously fast right handers. I was thinking to myself why are so many people quitting early. I was also thinking of tracks for next season's schedule wondering if they might be too difficult. And then all of a sudden, wham! I hit one of those concrete hay bails end on. My motor went to 0% instantly.
Next week we'll do a quick and easy sprint. I'll review the schedule and be sure not to pick circuits like Fuji 70 or Preluk 74. Thing is though, guys in the 60's and 70's ran these kinds of tracks all the time. And they didn't have a reset button. Makes me wonder how nervous they were coming to the track.
I had great battle with Manteos early on and then Giuseppe after the pit sequence. I was hoping to hold off Giuseppe the rest of the distance, but he was too crafty and had too much pace. I thought Ade would have won for sure. He had tremendous pace. Did you bin it Ade?

I've raced here before so I knew the track quite well and also had a fair idea of how my race would go Sadly it all came to pass at the fastest part on the track. I managed to keep the fezza tucked into the side and avoided collecting anyone and miraculously it didn't seem to do much damage. I set about catching Legzy and Geoffers but made a series of mistakes culminating in a dead engine at T1. I'll try to make some of these races, but these unforgiving tracks are too much for me.
