Historic race data.

Unfortunately, the results were fiddled by hand instead of being done using the league management system:

A close and dramatic season finale with battles for position going on all the way through the pack. Congratulations to Phil Harris on a clean win, excellent work ;-)

L1 00:43 R.Blandford bogs down at the start and S.Gymer has to brake to avoid rear-ending him. S.Loynes swerves right to avoid him but warp catches SG's car.

Racing (Warp) Incident.

L1 00:56 Allan Davis' engine lets go as the pack enters Eau Rouge and he does his best to get off the racing line but unfortunately Steve Smith, Ken Murray & Steve Peake are unable to avoid him.

Racing Incident.

L1 02:52 P.Skingley rear-ends J.Daborn as they brake for Stavelot. No mitigating circumstances for this one. J.Daborn is entitled to a non-fault Shift-R.

P.Skingley - 2 place penalty (Rear-end shunt)

L1 03:45 S.Gymer dives inside R.Blandford as they brake for Blanchimont but from too far back to make it stick. It would have been better for Rob to leave room here considering the difference in closing speed, but then it would have been better for Si to be a bit more patient at a notoriously difficult corner. C.Loynes is unable to avoid Rob's car.

S.Gymer - 2 place penalty (over-optimistic passing attempt)

L3 10:20 N.Richard spins out at Blanchimont and tries to get off the racing line as quickly as possible but S.Strudwick is unable to avoid him.

Racing Incident.

L3 10:30 J.Daborn gets alongside T.Robey into La Carriere and Tim does well to avoid him. No contact but both cars spun out. This was a very poor passing attempt mitigated only by the lack of contact.

J.Daborn - Warning (Over-optimistic passing attempt)

L3 11:30 J.Daborn is caught out by S.Gymer taking it easy into La Source and does a good job of avoiding him but warp knocks Simon slightly.

Racing (warp) incident.

13:17 K.Murray loses it at Stavelot and B.West can't miss him.

Racing incident.

L5 14:38 S.Loynes loses it as he enters the pitlane and ends up pointing at the wall right behind A.Davis's car with no room to move. Simon's total time stationary is about 24 seconds so no penalty is required. It would have been much better for both A.Davis and S.Loynes to stop earlier in the pitlane though, there was plenty of room further back.

L5 15:00  C.Loynes loses it into Eau Rouge but manages to keep it off the racing line. Coincidentally M.Stone runs wide too and it looks like he would have gone off anyway but his path to the grass was hampered by Clive's prone car. K.Williams, P.Skingley and S.Loynes were unable to avoid the carnage.

(Ken Murray had the angels on his side and passed underneath a bouncing Brabham.)

K.Williams, P.Skingley and S.Loynes are entitled to no fault shift-Rs. PS took a second one after being hit by S.Loynes which I'll allow as non-fault again. At the time Paul reset there were no engine sounds so he could not be blamed for resetting into Simon's path. C.Loynes had to do his pit stop at the end of this lap and did a stop'n'go the following lap.

Racing incident

L5 17:00 K.Williams gets alongside P.Skingley as they approach the Masta Kink but doesn't have the speed to complete the pass before the turn-in point. Unfortunately P.Skingley tries to tuck in close behind Kev but misjudges the gap and clips Kev's rear tyre. Paul should have allowed more room but Kev's pass was optimistic at best and needed to be completed much earlier to be safe. Neither driver came out of this mess smelling of roses but Kev was ahead at the point of impact and a small amount of warp was involved so considering the time Paul lost I'll call this a Racing Incident.

L6 20:03 J.Daborn spins and finishes up broadside across the track at the exit to Malmedy. S.Smith was unable to avoid his car. Nev's pass on Steve's recovering car is well worth a look though ;-)

Racing incident

L6 21:40 T.Robey runs up the bank and when he rejoins moves across the track to get off the racing line. Unfortunately R.Blandford has already moved right to avoid Tim and they collide. B.West is unable to avoid Rob's bouncing car. It would have been better for Tim to make a more decisive move here, although his intentions were good. Rob could have avoided Tim if he'd just backed off a bit though.
B.West is entitled to a non-fault shift-R.

Racing Incident.

L8 26:20 S.Strudwick has the legs on S.Loynes as they approach Burnenville, Steve leaves as much room as he can but Simon goes all the way from one side of the track to the other with no apparent regard for the passing car. This incident could easily have been much worse but luckily Steve was not affected. Simon lost a place as he recovered and this is the only reason the penalty is reduced.

S.Loynes - 1 place penalty (side by side contact)

L9 29:05  Alan Wallace Shift-Rs. It's the last lap so he does a stop'n'go before the finish line. Since he lost a place to S.Smith doing so no further time penalty need be applied.

L9 31:28 S.Loynes blows his engine and shift-Rs on the last lap.

S.Loynes - 10 second time penalty (shift-R on the last lap)

L9 31:40 N.Richard crashes at Masta. and shift-Rs on the last lap.

N.Richard - 10 second time penalty (shift-R on the last lap)

Team Results:

Pumpkins: 89
Blood: 52
Midnight: 43
Guts: 27
Bones: 14

Congratulations to Dave Wilkinson, Alan 'Duckman' Wallace and Allan Davis for the team win ;-)
