I updated AC, and bought the Dream pack. I have managed to get the steering so I can drive it so I would like to have go. Not liking the "feel" of the cars so far, but perhaps there is some getting used to it to do. I have reduced the graphics detail and now it runs well off line but on line it is jerky and choppy. Is this normal? or am I missing something? Newbie alert

im back in action ..phew relief! Thanks for the links Sharky, had just found the same one and was trying it out. Not ideal as means steam is still installed on the slower old HDD but once I can make some room there is a way of individually moving certain games out of the steamapps folder onto your ssd using 'junctions'. Will give that a go when I get some spare time. Will prob be in the Black Z4 tomorrow eve if I can get any practise in before the event otherwise I will take an MP4 as think ive raced that here before so should have a setup already.

Install steam onto c:\ then download a game but install it to D:\. It should create a d:\steam\library folder then just copy and paste your other games into that new folder and they 'should' not have to be re-downloaded, you might get the "running game for first time, checking files etc" messge tho.

I am running a 540 degree rototion ratio for now, but still not ideal... it seems to be very car dependant. I had some jerky moments online too yesterday evening, so i am reducing the graphics detail also. Offline was no problem for me either, so maybe some connection problem? (altough i was running on wifi yesterday, so i was blaming that... normally even my wifi is good enough for gaming though, i do all online practice wireless as i did the R3E test race last week) Still getting used to this game and was pretty off pace in the SLS with a 1.58,3xx. I will try to make the race tonight though! Newbie alert I've got all necessery apps up and running now thanks to the tips in the other thread. Thanks all.

I have it for PnG on 360, but that's more because of the lock setting. In AC every car will feel much better if you set it on 900 (1080 if the wheel allows it). Know that the some apps you see on my site can cause judder/freeze. That goes for the Ptracker, Race delta and Mini apps. For me it all runs smooth, but that's not to say that it will for others. For me there was also worse performance if I don't set fps limit in game.

I have my game and steam installed on my E drive. I did a test to see if there was any improvement if I set game and steam on my ssd, but no no change in performance what so ever for me. I also don't see any difference in replay, between high and very low setting. Maybe anyone else does?

If I set it to 900 I can't drive it. It is like steering an oil tanker. I have found ~450 to work as well I can get it too, same in RRE I will try setting a frame rate limit and see if it makes a difference. sometimes it is fine, but at times it jerks suddently not a frame rate slow down so much as bursting. Thanks Erik

Server up, I guessed at a race length of 12 laps based on Jester's time.

I'm the last who would complain about a short race, but I calculate 16 laps for a 30 min race

Server restarted with 16 laps, 45 min booking period. Wonder what I divided by before? I blame Spanner
