The Beeb have replaced their Classic F1 feature this season with one about their 20 greatest F1 drivers. Details are here; http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/17299158

My take on this is that any multiple World Champion has to be in there, so that gives us Fangio, Ascari, Brabham, Hill, Clark, Stewart, Fittipaldi, Lauda, Piquet, Prost, Senna, Schumacher, Hakkinen, Alonso and Vettel.

That leaves five more, personally I think Moss, Villeneuve and Mansell should also be there but not sure about the other two slots, Peterson and Rindt perhaps? Hamilton hasn't done enough (yet) and neither has Raikkonen.

Definitely Gilles, who could have been champ in '79 but for his agreement to back Scheckter. Mansell deserved more than one title and could have won three if he'd had more reliability in 86 and 87.
