Is the Porsche inferior at BRNO? There were only Ferrari's other than me, and the 360's seemed pretty well hooked up.
NGT sprint was a very strong Ferrari fest, I think PaulW who is nearly always a Porsche switched to a Ferrari for it.

YEh - thats fine - but when you're alongside him then obviously the guy needs to give room - this same thing happened twice, with two different GT drivers , with the same NGT driver. - go figure.
So even if the GT driver is alongside, who is diving up the inside and is clearly alongside at or before the apex - the NGT driver still has the right to stick to the racing line and not move at all? Er....No. That doesnt 'happen in real racing.

Well done to Mike W, your pace was awesome. Great qualifying lap to take pole by quite some margin.
I tried the Lister tonight to see if that would increase my race pace. I wish I'd stuck to the Lambo now though as the Lister didn't half shred it's front tyres. Bloody awful understeer, terrible turnin to the corners and made a few mistakes in the first half, but my pit stop strategy got some of the time back as I was driving a very heavy car for the first half so that I didn't have to put as much in at the pit stop and save valuable seconds.
Thanks Shark. Ended up being a lonely race, but I'll take that result any day Ran a heavy fuel load and pitted after 40mins, by which time the tyres were starting to go off a lot. No problems with backmarkers, although I did misjudge which way Jamera was going to move once and tapped him thankfully no harm done in that one. Good race everyone

In real world racing you have - much better peripheral vision
- no warp
- no lag
- money at stake
In online racing we are expected to take a more gentlmanly approach, and to make allowances for the limitations of the environment in which we are racing. Although until now I've resisted adding it to the rules, I've said many, many times on these forums that passes, especially uncontested ones, are best made under power, not on the brakes. Any driver who is not prepared to wait a few seconds for such an opportunity to arise, and instead chooses to stick their car up the inside of a car in a slower class at the first possible opportunity, is racing firmly outside the spirit of UKGTR.

NGT drivers are specifically not allowed to alter line to allow GT driver through. It is our right to stick to the driving line, this is the case in real life and UKGTR rules.
Now that's not strictly true. You do have the right to stick to the racing line and expect the GT driver to work around you, however, you are allowed to alter your line to allow a faster driver to pass - you just mustn't do it when the faster car is already making a move on you.

Hmm I always got to "line" and stopped reading... "The lapped driver should not change their line on a straight whilst being lapped.". It kindof changes the whole meaning of the sentence the last 6 or so words :-)

Frustrating race......Could not seem to get a good lap in during qualy, although managed a reasonable one right towards the end which put me ahead of a couple of other GTs..... First quarter of the race was pretty poor.....a couple of spins early on put me in the middle of the NGTs - have to commend some of the NGT drivers (particularly Fozz) who let me past even though we were technically fighting for position.... Settled down nicely after that and was slowly catching some of the GT cars in front as we approached the Pit Stop window.... Unfortunately as I came in for my pit stop I hit the wrong button on my wheel, so the speed limiter did not engage.....Pit stop actually went well and I came out ahead of a couple of cars that had been in front before the stops, but I was quickly informed that I had incurred a stop/go penalty for speeding in the pits After my pit stop I was last of the GTs, about 7 secs behind another Lister......a couple of laps later he spun out so I moved ahead, but in the last few laps he was quite a bit faster than me, and as we entered the last lap there was only about a second between us.....I managed to hold him off for most of the lap but coming into the last corner he outbraked me on the inside....we went into the corner side by side, but as I was on the outside I was always going to come off worse....I think we crossed the line about 0.1 secs apart

Thanks, NGT's don't race GT's at all at present, we can't score GT points. I would have let you through anyway however as its a bit stupid to fight with you at that stage of the race. Glad to see most GT drivers being thankful of NGT'ers efforts to get out of the way as I suspect it's as much that we're getting better at it as GT drivers understanding that we have our own race too (as well as, in general learning better ways to lap us). have to commend some of the NGT drivers (particularly Fozz) who let me past even though we were technically fighting for position....rt

I rather move away from the line to let the GT guy behind me know I'm letting him through. I never lift off the throttle on the line if there is a GT car behind me... only if I see him making a move on me. My race was boring as well. I didn't stop at all and tyres were still holding pretty well in the last laps. I was nursing the car and it paid off in the end.

Rite Matjaz and you and everyone else were great apart from 1. Everyone else was either jumping out of the way for me, or If i came up to them on a straight, didn't move and I simply overtook. So I had no trouble with anyone else. I've PM'd one of the Mod's and followed procedure anyway, I'm simply not going to be penalised THIS race. , specially winning it after not having practised it once lol. Awesome track Brno, no wonder Martin Brundle loves it. You can see I was still learning the track - my race fastest lap was quicker then my qualifying! And I set it on my 1st lap out the pits, with a full tank of fuel! Lol.

It was my first race in a league , very impressed with the driving standards of you guys especually the ngt's . I made a couple of mistakes passing the ngt's and had a bit of a misinderstanding with Jamera (sorry mate). Made a big cock up by taking the wrong entrance into the pitlane for my pitstop and had to drive through , and then when i did make my stop a couple of laps later i couldn't remember what keys i had assigned for the transmision on/off so spent 20 secs trying to start the car after re-fuelling TWAT!!! Had a great battle with CB95 on the last lap and just managed to get a run on him going into the second to last corner, But i locked the wheels as i tried to outbreak him and i think we just touched and he slid wide, thanks for giving me room mate . Iwas trying to let you back through going down the start and finish straight as i felt a bit guilty but didnt relise it was the last lap. Stroll on Donington!!
