It does say "attempt", so if you make them 0.99 would they make more mistakes?

Jamera posted this in another thread, looks like it is possible to tweak the AI:

Quote
AI Brake Power Usage="0.98000" // Fraction of theoretical brake power that AI attempt to use
AI Brake Grip Usage="0.97000" // Fraction of theoretical brake grip that AI attempt to use
AI Corner Grip Usage="0.93000" // Fraction of theoretical cornering grip that AI attempt to use

If you adjust these downwards it is better than just reducing AI strength line (AI Driver Strength="100") as that also affects their straightline speed

I started out at professional, but at the 3rd challenge I couldn't keep up with them any longer, so I switched to semi-pro.

Happy I'm not the only one.  Grin

I will try that tweak when I start the next challenge. I want diamond cups rather than platinum ones Wink

No you need to reduce the figure, it takes the theoretical max as being 1.00 so 0.98 is slightly less than max. If you input 0.99 you actually increase their performance

ah, well i envisaged them to have a error number too, so on a bell chart (is that what they are called), the middle would be 0.98, sometimes less, sometimes more, and bumping up the 0.98 to 0.99 would mean that sometimes they'd get 1.01 which would be a mistake.if you went to 1.00 50% of the corners they would mess up in some way.

That's how I'd do it if I were developing it, but i didn't, so it probably doesnt work in that way :-)

yeah I can see the rational behind that, now that makes me wonder if you might right. By reducing the figure they don't attempt to use it, therefore you are quicker through the bends due to a combination of later braking, more balls. If they attempt to use say 1.10 of theoretical grip then logic dictates they "should" slide off more often, worth playing around with methinks.
