Am feeling the pressure! Need to do well today as I am missing next weeks race!? :'( rats! Stuck in loads of GT40 practice only to find out later it was gonna be slow! Was still regrouping yesterday and changed car selection after every 5 laps! Didn't like any of them but finally put in a 2.09.9 in the Vette as a one off so am gonna have to go with that! No idea if the tyres or my talent will last the 40mins but I'm gonna give it a go!? Quite looking forward to it now! M.

I´m not looking forward to this event, because I´m crap with all of the cars here. Still trying my best to be there to add to the numbers...

Down to 1.53 now... ...opssss not the April the 1st anymore.... -Escort: I believe it is the most neutral car here and could be the fast one in the right hands i will not drive it -GT40: Can be a good surprise with the right setup (a mix of stiffenes and soft setup) i will not drive it -Corvette: Another car that can win in the right hands (needs a similar setup as GT40) as soon as it be in front, holding the faster slow corners cars in the back, easy to pull away on those big straights. i will not drive it -CSL: This car have people that hate it and some who love it. One of the most difficult to setup (IMHO). Slower than the Escort on the slowest sections of the track and slowest than GT40/Corvette on the fast ones. However if we hit the right setup, can be fast enough... i will not drive it Alright, i'm kidding....you know what GTC-76 car i usualy use to drive when it is selectable

I will be there tonight, am v e r y slow round here is a toss up between the escort and the beemer, I seem to have a constant stream of smoke coming off the tyres of the escort in corners (if I don't go for a ride across the sand) so doubt that the tyres will last the whole race so am tending towards the Beemer. Hoping to be only lapped once :p but have a horrible feeling that it may be more than that as I'm lapping in the 2:14s or thereabouts.
I don't know if it is me but I really find it difficult to throw these cars in to the corners a la GPL, i.e. in a 4 wheel drift, as soon as I do drive in this way I seem to get slower or crash.
Cheers Diki

I was saying on Team Speak last night PaulW, that this is definitely one of the hardest circuits we've done in GTL IMHO. I reckon it has reduced grip levels (compared to some other tracks), a lot of the corners are off camber & there are few decent brake markers. That all adds up to a difficult lap for me. But very rewarding if you're keeping SBG in his Vette on his toes for lap after lap

I thought it was okay to learn this one, the hardest part for me is that kink on the start/finish straight, very fast and easy to flick too much and get a big tank slapper or not flick and understeer off in the Vette.
Since most people seem to be going Escort/Beemer, I shall plump for the Vette, watch out for my supertanker braking (as Ian pointed out) and so far I have topped out at almost three thousand miles an hour down the Mistral straight. Watch out for the sonic boom if you're following me.
Probably shouldn't race with a 6am start for a long day down in London tomorrow, but having missed lots of races be a shame to miss this.

Perfectly normal behaviour, for crazy people I get the feeling I might not be alone :-D Although, after consistently spinning off due to dropping into second gear way too early, way too often, Two suggestions you can do to your setup to minimise this, 1) Increase your coast diff, as you do the car will become more stable when your foot's not on the accelerator. 2) In the BMW, I had all my gears moved to the their highest points. So 1st gear became pretty much the old second. This meant all the gearing's were closer together, so the early shift down reaction was less violent. I did consider changing the gearing, but doing this doesn't feel quite the right thing to do. I'll certainly try adjusting the diff, hopefully this will help. Hope you make the right choice Legzy! ;-)

Just to say sorry guys for causing the first turn melee.
At this time I'm seriously considering not racing any more in Season 7, I just seem to cause accidents. So probably cya in Season 8.

Decided after further practice, to go for the more enjoyable driving of the Escort, then the pleasing aesthetics of the Oldie BMW. Never managed to get tidy lap in qually. Best time was a 2:09.6, despite being .5 up on it in later laps. Started about 13th on the grid & with some solid driving on my part, I worked myself up to 6th after 1.5 laps. I was in 6th for about 8 seconds, before I forgot to brake at the end of the long straight & flew off wide. Rejoined in about 15th & instantly was quicker then guys around me, made up a couple of places & was confident I could work back up the field some. Did the long straight, made sure I broke a bit earlier this time & overcompensated. Caught the inside kerb & just failed to control it. My reactions/instincts were pathetic. I apologise to who ever it was who hit me (I think there were two hits) while I was out of control. Totally my fault & nothing you could have done to avoid me. Sorry. The result was my suspension was totalled & my car gave up as I tried to move my car in the sand. I have yet again, failed to perform in GTL. I don't think I've had a race yet this season when I haven't had serious contact with another driver (be it my fault or theirs) & it's getting me down :'(. When's the next P&G race ?

Well that was frustrating! As soon as we hit qualy I was getting some real jerkyness everytime there was some gravel or tyre smoke - me thinks I need a better GFX card. At this point I didn't really want to leave especially as it was a full grid -- I wanted to race dammit! Anyway, I managed to do okay by qualifying 15th, with my first time in the 2:10's. My start was really clean (finally!) and managed to get into 8th, but I have to say this was really difficult considering how slow my computer was running. Of course, as soon as I started to get some tyre wear I couldn't keep it on the track and before you know it, I was in 19th place. By this point I had some suspension damage and so had to slow down quite a bit in a couple of corners -- at least my computer wasn't jerky anymore Apologies to Blunder (I think) in the Corvette, didn't realise how slow you had to go through the esses. After a few more laps I finally decided to give up, before causing too much havoc with other drivers races.

Not a good race for me, my pace was rubbish, not sure why, I was one of the ones who smacked into you Legz I was going nicely round the outside, but saw Bara looking like he was about to rejoin from the gravel, so gave him some room in case, but that meant i couldn'y avoid you, bent my front suspenders, had bad understeer for the rest of the race, but kept going in case people fell off, some did, then I started going off. Limped to end,
