Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

This one will be my first RRE race, and I'm looking forward to it already. I'll probably be way off in terms of race pace, but then again, I'm used to that by now :-))

AND ..... the Kurt Thiim Mercedes is mine!

Had a few laps with the '92 cars and I get the feeling this is going to be a very tough race. Very easy to make mistakes in the chicanes and a few corners which you have to get just right to avoid gravel. Should be good fun especially with those darn slow down penalties  ;D

Did some laps on the SROUK-server without any problems. Anything I need to DL ?

I love this track, even though it is indeed treacherous. I also love the fact, that you can't get away with illegal shortcuts in this sim.

How does it work, when the race is on, do you get a warning, a stop-and go, a drive through or what?

I managed a 1.40.500 lap, what do you guys get?

Glad you're enjoying it Stig and look forward to racing with you again.

I believe server is set to instant slow down penalty mode for exceeding track limits although I'm not sure how many warnings you get before a slow down. It's a bit artificial but seems fair and doesn't ruin your race like a drive through/stop go might. It also gives you a bit of hope when you're chasing someone down towards the end of the race

Only had a few exploratory laps so far in practise mode in the 1:38s but I don't expect to get quicker than that as I now have limited practise time compared with last few weeks.

So the penalty is a forced speed limiter for a short period, is that how it works?

1.38.  ......... hmm...... I must find time for some more practice :-))

I just tested the penalty system on Matts server.

It actually adjusts your penalty time to the graveness of your cheating, and you get no penalty if you go off track on a straight.

I find this system absolutely brilliant and very fair :thumbup2:

Stig -who got himself a 1.39 lap by now  ;D

This last weekend I had more time for practice and I could do many laps.... around 90 laps, and my best time was 1.35.2 I think.
But was a lucky lap because I took more risk in the chicanes.
I tried the bmw and Audi... and I was more confortable with Audi.

If you want to consult the times of all players:

See you!

this will be the 1st race in this series, which i do not realy looking forward,

i do not like the cut slow down in this track, will probably destroy races for any, as if you drive close behind other in chicane and other car get penalty, you get accident too (and probably a penalty then too),
so i think close racing behind other car is in this track not possible, like i had with mr. belowski in nürburgring for 10-15min, which was very good.

but in general, i am not so big fan of zolder, but in R3E the version looks great again, somehow i like the grafic look in R3E, perhaps a little not so good as in AC, but somehow it looks more realistic, the cars and tracks, more feeling to drive real car on track it is.

i did any laps and i did test the "chead" with autoclutch off and do NOT use clutch, but after 3 laps my gears was dead already, take endless time to change a gear (incl. rattle rattle sound that gearbox is little dead already...sorry i can not explain better..) and wrong shift i had already too from 3rd to 1st and so on.....very realistic and save for probable earn a little laptimes with  "clutch cheat" like in GTR2/GTL.

i did 1.38.2 as best lap, but did only 7-8 laps, so probably 1.37.xxx is doable, if grip is same as in practise, but somehow it feels in last 2 races, as in online in race (and especialy in quali) the track is faster as in practise i did, as my laptimes was in last 2 races very good suddently.

I have altered the server to allow for a race finish in 40 mins, so everyone shoule be able to complete the 30 min race
It may be that it won't now finish the race until 40 mins whether all have finished or not..  ??? we will see.

is this a 40min. race now?
or do race end after 30min. and you have then 10min. extra time to finish your lap after the leader did finish the last lap?

and have we then to wait 10min. till game do make finish? because of the result file thing, that everybody get a result.

or simply 10min. extra racing for this race?

Probably the 2nd option. I don't know for sure until it happens  ???

I "hope" that the race will finish after 30 mins as normal, but it will allow cars up to 45 mins to complete the race
I "hope" that when the last car crosses the finish line the event will complete, and you will not have to wait another 15 mins....

Someone was not happy at the last event as it only gives you  a very short time to complete the race if you are
not up with the leaders, so I have set the server option "Race finish Duration" to 45 mins. It only has 30 - 45 as preset times
you can't set it to 35 for example. I assume this means it will allow "up to" 45 mins for people to do their last lap.

Sounds logical. Just been on server and race length is definitely set to the usual 30 minutes.

Terrible debut for me .......... yakk!

I was 3 secs off pace in quali and I screwed up right after turn one. The car was damaged, tried to pit but they only changed the tyres.

From here on, it can only become better ;D

Arrrrggghhhh

Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory there. Qualified 3rd and took the lead off the line, then was pumping in qual laps all race - down to the mid 1:36s, which for me is amazing pace.

Started off with Reinhard breathing down my neck (looked like bloody Night Rider in the mirror), then an Audi (Jose?), then I had some breathing room (only a couple of seconds).

I got tangled up lapping Bill with less than 10 minutes left to go (sorry Bill, it was my impatience / panic driving, I should have backed off a bit). After that I was a sitting duck for Reinhard, who passed me easily only for me to bump him coming out of the 2nd chicane. I lifted a bit and Jose (I think) got us both and after that my concentration was shot.

Great win Reinhard and what a thrilling race :)

Yes, the Audi was mine  ;)

Good race yesterday, better that the last one. Anyway I made little mistakes but less that the last race.
The start was bad and I lost many places but soon I was 3rd behind berger and belowski. Berger made a mistake in the 2nd chicane and I was 2nd. 3 o 4 laps later, same mistake and the same chicane and I lost 2 places. I returned behind Berger and tried to keep his pace. When I thought that the 3rd place was mine, Belowski hit a little to Berger and I could pass two.
Suprise for the win.  ;D

I'm still learning, and online races are a little different to my dear GTL. So I will be patient.

Thanks all for racing.

Cheers.

The results have as usual lost one person.  :'(

In this case it was whoever was in the Opel Omega, who it says finished 4th in the race.
What name did you use in the game? and what is your forum name on here if it's different please
I will then edit the file and enter the results.

Thanks mr_belowski, I guess being a new driver to this Series my slow pace may have effected your judgement of where you could safely pass me.

Afraid I race for fun and try to keep out of other faster drivers way when lapping starts, y'all will get use to my pace hopefully.

I'd had Reinhard reeling me in for 15 minutes and was desperate to hold on to my lead. My judgement wasn't affected, it was entirely absent. I'm not usually prone to red-mist but I got it bad last night, sorry Bill

That was me in the Opel, with my raceroom name "Dieter Bromvich" again. I didn't do any qually laps, and yes finished P4 in the race.

Great fun for me, and nice to fight for the lead for a change. Until the last couple of laps that is, when I had a couple of half-spins and slowdown penalties. Nice combo though Matt, enjoyed it.

Congrats podium.

Oh and apology to whoever was in a green Merc (I think) that I made contact with exiting T1 on the first lap. To be fair I think you were already spinning across me, and not much I could have done to avoid you; just unfortunate I guess. Apologies however if I was at fault there.

It doesn't seem to like spaces in names. I will percevier some more tommorow, but you might

Ok. I don't understand why, but for other two word names it has put _ in
Like "Wiltshire_Tony" I have tried editing the results .xml file with "Dieter Bromvich"
"Dieter_Bromvich" and even "Frex" and it keeps failing to import the reults, saying there
is a driver who is /Unknown
Could be I am missing somthing, I will have another go tommorow.

Yep. just realised. So it lost 3 people  :taz:
Anty is Lion of Judah, the Audi was Jose
I will do it again later. Heck, these results are becoming a toil!
I do hope they sort it out for the next release.
It's the nil entries that are the issue.

Just so you see what I am having to sort out, here is what the results file looks like in Notepad:

hello people,

good idea is,
to make a screen shot (think F12?) from raceresult when race is finished.
then it is more easy for phspok to justage the result i think.

i did in past already make a screen picture, but it is useless if i make this, as i never ever had upload a picture somewhere, no idea how this works.

That would certainly help. It's easier when I am in the race, as I sort of know who was running
but when I am remote it's quite hard. I have tried watching the replay, but it seems to stop
putting names over the cars after the start.

That looks good, but just to point out the obvious those results have missed out GT and Stig - maybe because they did not do enough laps to be classified? Also has the positions of P6 and P7 (Anty and Bill) swapped around compared to your results Matt.

Yes, I think that GT and Stig don't appear because any of these complete a lap in race.

No ideas why Anty and Bill swapped positions.  :(

Hmm

I can change the finish order of drivers in the championship after the results have been input
I will struggle more to delete and re enter the results from scratch.
As I am now on my 7th version of the results file  :o I might just fiddle the champ scores and leave it like that.

Jose's version seems to be using the local game's results, and appears to be accurate
The server uses it's own generated results file which seems to be "flawed"
In the past it has lost the name of one person, and I can fairly easily edit them in
this one seems to have lost 2 people, and got others in the wrong order. I didn't help
by setting the wrong name against the Audi  ::)

I hope they fix this server results output soon,,,,

Yes Ant, the results are screwed. I will at least change the finishing positions for the championship
I may not be able to change what you see in the forum so easily.
I am up to my crankshaft in work at the moment, so will have a go in the next day or so.

Yep. just realised.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><MultiplayerRaceResult xmlns:i="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns="http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/CommunityMultiplayer.Services"><CutRules>SlowDown</CutRules><Difficulty>GetReal</Difficulty><Experience>RaceRoom Experience</Experience><FlagRules>Black</FlagRules><.....................................

I tried to use Excel to sort that lot and got the result:
1st  Reinhard

2nd  Anonymous

3rd  mr_belowski

4th  LionofJudah72

5th  goldtop

6th  Wee_Eck

7th  Hotkeys

8th  Bill258

9th  Anonymous

My Excel skills will need to get a lot better for my spreadsheet to be fully automatic.   :(

Some of that rubbish is my editing, I assumed people were in cars they weren't, this is one of the dangers
of not being in the race myself and therefore not having a replay to compare against.
This is what Jose created from his local game's results, which I "think" is accurate:

https://038ae81c8dfc55c23c8e6b747ccdf9c57b9b2810.googledrive.com/host/0B0VLrTJJX8K-fkQxLXdPRFJrUXV2X1hsTlhuRklrVmh4clFia1Ayc2tBcnVlNFA2TUlTU0k/index.html (https://038ae81c8dfc55c23c8e6b747ccdf9c57b9b2810.googledrive.com/host/0B0VLrTJJX8K-fkQxLXdPRFJrUXV2X1hsTlhuRklrVmh4clFia1Ayc2tBcnVlNFA2TUlTU0k/index.html)

When people race with different names than their SROUK forum name, it's not usually a problem
because all we do is choose the right forum name to match what they drove as, and from then on
the database knows about them. In this case due to my bad editing, it has confused anty and jose
and thinks that Anty is Senyolobo in the results so anty appeared twice and Jose is missed out.
I have altered the event results to Jose's output, but the championship has not accepted it. It keeps
having a problem with Jose's account names. I have asked for help, but so far I am stuck.

What happened to Stig and Tudor?

And I thought that Jose said he didn't win?   ???  (Assuming that Anty=Jose=senyorlobo)   What a complete mess!

I was 1st place and behind me Berger in 2nd place. Yesterday a saw the replay and I can confirm that fact.  ;D

Wot he said.

Jose won, Reinhard was 2nd. Stig and Tudor didn't complete a lap (according to the results) so were not included

If I open the file in excel it is easy to edit, but It can't save the edited file as xml data because it complains
about forms. If I save it as an xml spreadsheet it adds loads of formatting stuff which probably would screw things.
Not sure which of the many versions of the file I copied here. Hopefully tonight's event will be easier to complete  ::)

Well good luck!

I just pasted the text into a cell on excel and then started chomping it up.

A DNF for me  :'(

Brakes started binding in quali and just got worse as we went to race. Time to get spraying the contact cleaner  ::)

I completed a few laps but retired because of my pedals issue.
