probably DQ about halfway through when I suddenly find out I've forgotten what to do for a pit stop.
Don't forget to turn off the ignition when you stop. We've all done it at some point..

Don't forget to turn off the ignition when you stop. We've all done it at some point.. And most importantly, don't forget to stop You'll be doing around 180mph on the approach to your pitstop and you'll need to slow down early (off the racing line of course ) or you'll be sailing past your pitcrew before you know it

Well if last week was a measure of everything all action gun to flag racing should be like & why I love racing here... this week was sadly not. Sadly fell asleep at the wheel & wrote the car off.

Apologies to John. I completely missed you in my mirrors when I let Goldtop go by. Unforgivable! What a nightmare this race was.Endless pitstop and didn't make to the end either. Bah. Dan

Best race of the season. Just a shame that I finished it perched on a pile of sand.
Just to make matters worse, I think that Dan has smeared our No.1 driver down the wall and given the championship to the Kerbies. LOL

Grrr. I know you didn't mean it Dan. Don't know what's more annoying - our team putting ourselves out of the championship, or the Kerbies' undoubted smugness because of it!
Didn't help getting hit up the rear on the first lap, then clawing my way back with a bent car to catch GT only to have it all taken away just when it was about to get exciting. GT must have been chuckling in that cockpit...

Unlucky guys, there were lots of unfortunate and unnecessary DNF's tonight. The event really needed more prep time than 1 weeks notice with these cars on a tough track. Next time (and there should definitely be a next time), we should have more lead-in time and maybe a practise race to shake out all the areas where its likely to go wrong....like the chaos in sector 1 at race start !! Followed by a fair few of us not being able to stop at end of Mulsanne with full tanks as we no doubt didn't practise it (I didn't either) and all taking to the escape road and/or spinning. I was really enjoying myself in the race actually. Managed to miss the lap1 chaos mostly and then had a 6 race ding dong with SeniorDans Mk2. Annoyingly on lap 7 at Tetre rouge when following him into the tight right corner I ran a little too wide and the car did a ridiculous flip onto its roof off a concrete 'hay-bail' Such a shame as was hoping to battle to the end. As it was I spectated the rest of the race and thoroughly enjoyed watching GT in his Gulf being pursued by Johns Mk2, the cars& track looked fab on the TV camera screen In the end there were a lonely 5 or 6 finishers out of a decent starting field. Shame really. The track is cool but its also frustrating with the voids and flip-u-up scenery items. We should use it again though Big congrats to GT on the win, Donni and Walter on the podium and well done to the few guys that made it to the finish line ps such a big event should carry double points!...F1 style

Unofficial LapChartRookie Night. Bumped into MJ at the first start spinning into the pit and was DQ. Thanks for the restart btw. Second start went well but ran into a sliding Eifel (the only other Heck in the field) and couldn't stop. Sry Eifel, but I was full on the brakes when I hit you Then stupid mistake at the fast corner again spinning... Fortunately managed to find the pit but forgot to tell the crew NOT to mend the car so I spent nearly 2 minutes in the pits.. but finished the race Congrats to Goldtop for the win and championship.

I'm sorry that I caused an accident on the first lap in Tertre Rouge (Just before the Mulsanne straight). I started P2, and I had a great start. I went wide in that corner, and got stuck in the sand. Some unlucky soul crossed paths with my car as I was on the shoulder of the road. I'll submit an accident report to the moderator after I see the replay. My car was severely bent, and the engine sounded rough afterwards. Geoffers had no trouble catching me, and he overtook me going into Indianapolis. I tried to let him past, but I may have caused him to miss his braking point. I am sorry if I was to blame for that. Then came the pit stops (plural). I boxed twice because I did not take any fuel or change any tires on the first one. No one was more surprised than me that I made it to the checkered flag. The good thing was that the WSL Racing Team scored a shedload of points. Condolences to those that were not able to finish the race. There is a chance that I will receive a penalty. So the results are not final yet. Final thoughts, I really enjoy these cars and this track. However, there were too many DNF's. Anyhow, I hope that this track (or some version of it) remains on the calendar in the future. Thanks, Good race everyone, Walt EDIT: I am sorry for the incident John.

Firstly, thanks for all the pit stop advice gents but sadly I didn't make it to my first on-line pit stop I did a little off-line practice shortly before joining the server and as long as I had no damage to fix I thought I'd be ok. I'll certainly be spending some practice time to get a good routine burned into my ageing and dwindling memory cells for future events I also learned in my off-line practice that visiting the pit lane off the start wasn't a good idea and that full tanks require some pulling up at the end of the Mulsanne so in the practice session I just worked on getting a feel for the Gulf with it's tanks brimmed. Quali session went ok and for the first, aborted start, I got away well and made some progress through the field until all the DQ's started happening and it all came to a halt. Re-start and random grid put me in 4th. Again, got a decent start helped out by Clive moving off relatively slowly which kept those on the RH side of the grid at bay and leaving me and fellow team mate Walt to head off at the front of the pack. I took Walt at the first left hander and I was in the lead heading on to the Mulsanne. Saw a bit of a cafuffle in my mirrors and was enjoying a fair lead but knew it wouldn't be long before the faster GT40's would be swallowing me up. As it happened only Guiseppe Reali came past so now I was just concentrating on getting the car slowed down before the Mulsanne corner. Thought I'd done a good job there as I watched Guiseppe slide off and then I started to slide and the next thing I know I'm in the middle of a Concrete Hay Bale/GT40 sandwich with more piling in by the second. Seems Goldtop came barrelling in on the inside and that was that. I bugged out at that point as it was getting late for me (usually need to finishing racing at 10pm) and I wasn't looking forward to struggling around with a bent GT40, possibly causing any further incidents. Spoken to Goldtop about the incident and, as the Fun Lovin Criminals would say, everything is cool and everything is schmoove. Grats to Goldtop on the championship and to the Crawlers. Huge grats to Walt and Bob for bringing in a nice points haul for Team WSL... I'll contribute at some point
