I ended up trying the brake hard and late, turn the wheel as hard as possible and slide sideways round the corners, whilst letting off the throttle from time to time to get pathetic lift off oversteer.
That's not lift throttle oversteer, you're just removing the power understeer.
It's a lot better if you actually practice and set it up properly. Honest. Well, better anyway.
My race was actually quite reasonable, punctuated by two moments of horribleness. First was somehow locking the rears into Startkurven, still don't know why, did the same as normal, but anyway, managed to earn myself a bump from the Mini right behind me and went off, putting myself almost to the back of the field. Not that I was that high to start with!
My momentary lapse of reason came after a lap or two following 1p in the big cat. A brave choice and it was quick enough in a straight line that passing him wasn't going to be easy. Got into position coming into the final turn but totally mistimed my acceleration and bumped him round. Pulled over to let him go back ahead but Oilseal unfortunately got caught out by his spun leviathan and 1p retired. :'( Sorry, Stephen, totally my fault and I expect Aagramn will have to throw the book at me.
After that I got stuck back into chasing down whatever few places I could. Took me a few laps to find a way past pribeiro's bread bin, finally making a pass stick by going all the way round the outside of Opel to get the inside line into the hairpin. That was the best bit of racing to be had but it was quite pleasing to be able to match 6th place for pace towards the end of the race, albeit a lap down.
Gotta say I really rather enjoy this track in the slower cars, very fast and furious in nature. Allowing the Jag wasn't really a good plan though, it was just hopelessly outclassed by all the lightweight stuff.
