Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Note early race start.

Never really enjoyed driving this circuit, too fiddly for me. Tonight didn't improve my feelings about it and was just getting more and more frustrated with myself so decided to take an early bath.

I think we can safely conclude that Geoffers is the Porsche Master. How can one be so quick in a not entirely pleasant car to drive ? Did he make any mistakes at all? Grats to him and Ziu for p1 & 2.
I really enjoyed race one in the loud and aggressive Nissan. Tried to be as wide as possible to prevent the fast commodore boys to sweep by. Not good enough, as Ziu slipped by on the inside when I ran a little wide. It looked so easy, lol. Fortunately Erling and Clive were more of a challenge and normally they would have shown me their rearlights in one or two laps but my driving looked somewhat erraric which puzzled them I think and  instead of teaming up against the Japanese noise machine they fought eachother for a position. In the heat of the battle minor and more minor mistakes were made which showed a broad smile in the rearview mirror of my Nissan. Thanks for letting me finish third guys, especially Erling who was kind enough to make another mistake in T1 while in hot pursuit and on for a very likely 3rd place.

Apologies for my first position in race two. I hardly ever drive/have driven the BMW 2002 so I wasn't aware of the potential of the car. It too fast compared to the rest of the grid. Now that I know I 'll pick another car for next race . Can't deny that, not very familiar with the top spot of the rostrum, an occassional win doesnt feel too bad.  ;D

Cheers, Dan

@ Dan, take the Beemer mate. The others have almost exhausted their stocks but that's their lookout, not yours.

However you may not be entirely alone  :shifty:

Race 1 was a hugely entertaining affair.  After much deliberation, I had settled for the Opel for both races. Happy with 3rd on the grid and surprisingly got ahead of Ziu at the start.  Dan's Nissan shooting past, gaining several places wasn't part of the plan though.  Overestimated the grip on cold tyres later on L1, which let Ziu through, and in a flashback to last week, a certain Mr. Evil also slipped past.

Ziu was soon past Dan too, so it was left to Clive & me to chase him.  Initially he & Dan eased away, but I seemed to reclaw some territory under braking, and maybe they slowed each other in their battle, so slowly reeled them in again. Then Clive had a moment at T1, doing a half spin. Exploiting it was difficult, as his car was broadside across the path I preferred. Manoeuvred around him and hogged the inside line in the two following lefthanders, keeping the position.  What followed was the best part of the race, with Clive all over my rear bumper - I vaguely got the impression he wanted the position back  ;D - the one he himself nicked from me earlier I might add  ;)

With the Opel's end-swapping antics, practicing downhill, bumpy late-braking is akin to Russian Roulette, but had to chance it, to keep Clive at bay. Fortunately got away with it. Our mad dicing reeled in Dan again, and then Clive had a moment at the chicane. Thus I could concentrate on harassing Dan.  Surprised to find him relatively slow through the string of corners after T1, where I had to back off - too much in the final one, where the rear broke loose and I spun, only to see Clive zip past again.   At T1 on the next lap, he went straight off and I thought he missed his brake point, but in replay it looks deliberate - a result of a DQ maybe ?

Reeled in Dan once more late in the race.  His driving seemed more erratic, so maybe I could hope for a mistake ?  On the final lap I got one, but unfortunately I was the one to make it ::)  In the very same corner where I spun before, I accidentally double downshifted and immediately spun, leaving Dan to sail home safely in 3rd.  Grats to him and the rest of the podium.

Race 2 a lot more quiet.  4th on grid with Dan's BMW fueled promotion to pole.  Damn near got upstaged again by one of those rocket assisted takeoff Nissans, this time Tony, but managed to hold my position through the first corners.  In the confusion, I again got ahead of Ziu.  Dan & Geoff made a fast disappearing act up front, while behind, Ziu predictably reeled me in again.  Followed me closely for a lap, and when we approached T1, I heard a tyre squeal, saw a flash of green & yellow shooting off to the left, realizing the Opel had mugged him under braking.  He retired soon after, the replay showing he got stuck outside the track, unable to free the car - very rotten luck Ziu  :(  With Clive qualifying just behind me, I had expected a new battle with him, but never saw him in the race. Replay shows he spun on L1, which probably explains it. With Ziu gone, the rest of the race was very quiet, apart from a brief glimpse of Geoffers late in the race, apparently recovering from a spin (he does have some human traits - or maybe it's all part of an elaborate ruse, to fool us gullible Earthlings..  ;))   Grats to Dan & Geoffers for 1st & 2nd.

Never been called a Porsche Master before  :o, not a 911 fan & honestly I usually don't drive them unless I have to. Anyway I'm pretty sure Ziu would have been quite a bit faster in it. And yes I did make mistakes, had a spin in both races.

Concluded that this was probably the easiest of the remaining tracks on which to take the 911 with all the braking points being in a straight line, so no juggling with lift-off oversteer whilst trying to get the car slowed. In fact I had to loosen up the stable setup I had used at Donington to make the car turn better.

Pole in race 1 with a time over a second better than anything I had managed before. Good start but only just held off the flying Dan in the Nissan into T1. He harried me for the first half lap then dropped back to play with the Opels which left me with a comfortable lead. Carried on pulling away & even had time for a quick spin when I missed a downshift on lap 7 & came home 10s clear of Ziu.

Race 2 was a different story with Dan in the Bimmer. He got away in front at the start & although I tried to keep pace, I was overdriving & lapping slower than in the first race. After another spin I had to settle for 2nd not too far ahead of an improved Erling.

Congrats to the other podium mounters    , cya next week.

PS Get well soon Kurt.

Race 1
Like Erling I had decided that this was perhaps the track to use 2 Opel drives. Also re-assuring, was his observation that the ruddy thing wanted to swap ends without any provocation under braking!! In my experience it was almost as bad as the notorious Porker!!
What I found more worrying was my braking. Yes, over a whole lap I was able to match Erling ( and Dan in his Nissan ) for pace, but I was having to max out some sections to compensate.  These cars have brake lights and those on cars ahead were telling me that (certainly at the end of the main straight) I had to get heavily on the brakes as I passed that slip road on the right. I could not believe that any other car that I was following was not illuminating brake lights for another 50 mtrs!!! Plus, they appeared to be under full control for the chicane where I was most definitely on a knife edge?? Which in turn leads to my DQ in race 1. I collected 3 cut track warnings at the chicane and simply forgot to make a stop  :-\ so I took myself out of the way.

Race 2
I had backed off the brakes by a notch to try and regain some control and was looking forward to another tussle with Erling. That all got postponed when I received a gentle nudge on lap 1 and lost 10 seconds trying to recover. No worries, it was an innocent racing incident and the monster Opel is hard to miss when it is blocking the track  ;) Had several fun laps dicing with Fulvio in his Porker, great fun but eventually the Opel decided that I was pushing too hard and gave me a couple of half spins just when I was relaxing.
The rest of the race was an exercise in finding the limits...and often exceeding them!!!  But watching the replay I still was much earlier on the brakes than the other cars. Something i will have to work on  :-\

Despite the poor performance, I enjoy these cars. Grats to the podiums and don't fret about an easy win Dan!! they don't come often and we all have the same cars to choose from.  ;)

Not much to report on these two races.  I chose the Nissan for this one because I hadn't used it before and wanted to use all the cars available.  I had tested it earlier in the season and gave up on it's ill handling for me.  Worked on it a lot and finally got a happy medium for me to where it would turn in on entry and still not spin on exit.  Still after 9-10 laps it had massive understeer and of course oversteer on exit.  Won't miss it at all for the rest of the season.  Both races I followed Fulvio most of the race with Dom behind me and he passed me several times.  Dom was faster that I was as usual but was having problems with the Por. doing what Por's do.  Next up the Beast's, think I will take the GT40 as I enjoy the sound unlike the sound of the Rice Grinder and also have a nice docile set up for the old guy to use....

Thanks for the races
Bob M.
