Aside from the unpronounceable name (I can think of Pocahontas) the track is nice and fun, then being short with good stretch can overtake quite well  :fencing:
The cars we have not yet tested well, but seem pretty balanced to ensure good fun  :thumbup1:
I take this opportunity to remind you that if you have problems with the server and want to join us in training sessions the pass on our servers T7 is t7cup  :tank:

Thanks for the PW Giuseppe.

And I shall not tell you what memories the track name brings back, so to speak!

Big trouble at our hosting provider with power to the building, short story is our server is toast
and is being rebuilt, Picnic will be reinstalling the game servers/teamspeak etc whenhe can, but for the meantime
I will start up my home brew server. Hopefully we will be able to use the normal one by Thursday
but if not we will use mine. It has proved to not always be reliable in the past, we used it last night
for the GTL event ad it ran perfectly, so should be ok.

The race will run one way or the other.

 This is really

 "doin' me 'ead in!!" :cursing:

Just tried to join the server for a few laps practice at Pukekohe and I am getting the     "car not present on server"   message again?!?!?!?

I have tried it offline and I can most definitely use the Zakspeed Escort around Pukekohe and save setups  etc.etc.

I have the cars for this race in folder   C:\PnG3\GameData\Teams\70's Touring.

I select the server, ... select the car and   click  "join".      Pword as normal and the circuit loads.

The circuit loads each time I try and then the screen changes to "garage" and there is a red  ring around the start switch as the dreaded message flashes up on screen.
In the few seconds between displaying "car not present on server and  "lost connection to host" I can see my setup files all ready and waiting to be used.

There just has to be something that I am doing wrong here??

Or the server isn't set up with the correct cars.   ::)

Have you tried using the Team7 server?

There seem to be 2 servers with nearly the same name. I can join the 16 player one, but not the 28 player one.

Same here.

I could join simracing.org-P9-GT but was booted as possible cheat when I tried to join simracing.org.ukPG-GT.

Looks like someone (Picnic?) has started all the practice servers, I wasn't sure how far he'd got with rebuilding
the world so fired mine up. Mine is a new build (hence the panic admin stuff Monday evening) and I might have missed something

The normal server is up at the moment, so if you can't connect to that one CliveE there must be something odd in your install
Everyone else except CliveE was able to join my RIng server MOnday, but if others are unable to join my PG one then
the prob is at my end, Trouble is I can always join my server as I am local, and though my game system is a different machine
they are on the same network, and it doesn't seem to care about firewall stuff etc.

Top marks for Pete's efforts in getting everything back up and reinstalled in only a couple of days  :thumbup1: :thumbup1:

Yes, just to confirm the above i joined the P9_GT server last night to try out the Escort and BMW and both worked fine, no problems. And yes, it is set to 16 cars only.

As others said, I could join one of the pukehoe servers last night but other one said 'booted as possible cheat' no matter what car I picked.

Evilclive, do you know how to use the snipping tool in win7? Might be worth opening explorer, go to your directory that has your GTL or p&g install, expand the directory tree so that your sub-dirs are viewable then do a screen capture using the snip tool to post up on here. Maybe we can spot something odd in your game directory structure.
Failing that it seems you may need to do a fresh install from the game cd and reinstall the mods to it as would appear you have borked something.

Not sure I'm here to race tonight 50/50 at present and have only 3 laps recon under my belt. Never raced here before.  :(

I am sure that the gremlins are living at my end and that this is where the problem lies.

It may sound like a dumb question ( I have a lot of those!) but is it reasonable to assume that the "car not present on server" message, does indicate that it actually is a problem matching the cars on my PC and the server??
So, if I had a car in my    "C:\PnG3\GameData\Teams\70's Touring"   folder that was NOT installed on the server would that screw things up because the 2 lists did not match??

Win 7 ???  ??? ???

Wot is that !!????

I have barely progressed to XP.  lol...... but I can try and do a "print screen"  when I get home this evening   ;)

Try logging in to the server that is currently up before you do much work.
It seems there is an issue with my home brew for PG that didn't seem to be there for GTL
they use the same ports as far as I know, so I need to play with it some.

your dir sounds fine, mines C:\Program Files (x86)\PnG3\GameData\Teams\Power&Glory\70's Touring. There should be 7 individual car directories under that for the various bmw, porsche etc. and in each of them you will see a load of numbered dirs. and other files relating to each car type.

I cant think how your install can lose them between single and multiplayer  ???  You haven't got some bastich firewall program partly blocking P&G and GTL have you? Most firewalls let you choose programs to be 'exceptions' and allow them full port access.

Hope the servers working as it turns out I am home  :)...but done bugger all praccy  :-X

I only have 5 car folders?

BMW CSL,
CHEVY CORVETTE 70,
Ford Escort
RS2000
Porsche 911

Could it be the missing folders that are causing the problem? and what are they?

That's five.

What have you done to it Evil?

I have:-

BMW CSL
Chevrolet Corvette 70
Detomaso Pantera
Ford Capri
Ford Escort RS2000
Porsche 911
Porsche 914

Sounds like you have wiped something and need to re-install.

I have done nothing, honest guv!   :(   but I do have grandchildren!! I found the missing car files in various places and have re-assembled the full compliment. But still I get the same error message.   A re-install looks like the only answer.... :-\

Not me.

@ fzcfede

No problem. Taking out three (3!!!) bemers in two corners suddenly make your little bump well worth.  :jumpjoy:

Nice racing yesterday. Also hats off for teamie MJ who did pretty well for someone who hadn't seen this track before. Nice track, not very difficult, but still nice combination of corners and places where you can make a pass.

On the T7 server i noticed Guiseppe do 1.01's in the 911, however i thought it would be nice to see if i could make the beemer work. Did a 1.02.2 on softs, but opted for mediums on the front on raceday. I was certain i could finish in the top 10 this time.

Luck was not on my side again however.. First of all sorry to MJ for flinging my beemer in front of you at the start. Too much throttle had it spinning to the right. Must have been the Jagermeister..
Wasn't being silly in the first lap and held P10. I got a rear end shunt from ChrisR who spun me around losing 3 places and a lot of ground.
Had a good battle with SeniorDan, Matt and Frex for some laps, after that is was a bit lonely. Really like these cars, so i had my fun.

That makes two outings on the trot at this circuit where I have lost a hard earned position on the last lap!  And each time to a ruddy Kerbie!!!

Geoffers beat me off the line but his BMW just didn't appear to like the last corner early in the race so I was eventually able to pass him.

But he wouldn't leave me alone and when we encountered Matt and frex on the last lap it was all the invitation that Geoffers needed to jump me.  He had a good exit onto the straight and we went into the braking zone side by side, with Matt in there for good measure.  I was on the inside and in my attempts to turn inside everyone I did a half spin to a standstill, Geoffers was through and I had no race left to do anything about it.

Bah!!!!!!

Grats to Otto, John and Giuseppe and well done to Geoffers.

Spent most of the race glued to Matt's rear bumper, and much fun it was too.

But why did you let me by at one point  ???  Wasn't having any of that, so i returned the favour on the back-straight. Got by again near the end, only to lose focus with Clive and Geoff approaching to lap us, and ran a little too wide at T1 on the final lap which allowed you back ahead. I dropped back a bit after that to keep out of the way. Great fun though, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Congrats podium.

Chortle. well, neither of us was about to score big points, and
1: I felt I might have been holding you up
2: I wanted some fun seeing if I could hang on to your bumper the way you were managing to in what
was a slightly slower car.

There were places where you were quicker and you had to lift to avoid contact, and places where I made the
time back up. I wanted to do some chasing for a change  :fencing:

Well that turned out to be a great race.  8)

I was supposed to be out and MIA but at 8pm found out I was home, but hadn't done any proper laps here  :o jumped on the race server using my Dubai setup and set about learning the thankfully fairly easy layout just before qually. Wasn't expecting much but managed to bother the lower end of the top 10  :)

Race start was good though still got jumped by teamie postal with his lightning starts. But luckily I got ahead on lap 1 and was able to chase Clive and Geoffers hard for a few laps before I ran wide on the sf curved-straight  :P that gave them a few secs gap that I was never able to trouble for the rest of the race  :(
I spent 90% of the race in 8th but still finished 10th  ::)
From a long way back, first animal Ed cruised up and sped past without me bring able to offer resistance, then Goldtop tried to do the same. I was having none of it this time and fought GT tooth and nail for about the last 5 laps! It was a fantastic close action battle, often side by side and no hint of contact  :fencing: great stuff and highlight of my race, even if he still beat me to 9th!
Great fun  :thumbup1:

Well done to Otto and podium. But again I have to ask dont detonate your bloody engine on crossing the line!! I was in very close battle with GT and I lifted off the throttle when I saw a big plume of smoke ahead as didn't want to have a last lap incident. That could cost a position

Been having a bit of a lull in PnG lately (too much Assetto Corsa) but decided to join here at the last minute as it's always a fun track.
Had some annoying aliasing problems so decided to quickly tweak my settings and rejoin at the back for the race.

Turned out to be very entertaining too with lots of close battles and a chase up to the back of MJs RSR. Unfortunately my work was all undone as I whacked my elbow trying to correct a slide into the bus stop and went spinning into the gravel allowing Ed to sail past. It flippin hurt too!

Managed to drive through the pain  and eventually caught MJ who had now been passed by Ed and guessed would be up for battling. Had a great few laps to the finish and just managed to hold on as we crossed the line. Didn't see the smoke btw as I always drive with fx switched off. Anyway, great racing MJ  8)

Congrats to the pody types......sorry to hear that Clive got mugged here again by a Kerbie  I'll have to watch the replay  ;)

...
From a long way back, first animal Ed cruised up and sped past without me bring able to offer resistance ...

Because you made mistake by short shifting from 4th to 5th on a back straight ...

My race ... first of all, i chose not to submit an incident report because i know Federico as a hard but fair driver and i`we been in simmilar situations so i know that, from his point of view, it was unavoidable and unfortunate ... but that was our first (and i hope last) incident because next one i will submit - don`t want to encourage braking the rules ... or guidelines.

I think that my choice to go with safe and consistent setup was right despite that i have faster one because i was able to keep decent pace from start to finish without big dramas. My highlight was overtaking Dan, Postal and Matt in one move ( ok, ok, almost one move ) ... everything else was gifts ( GT big gift and MJ ... gift is a gift - thank you ) or inferior car ... and the biggest highlight for the end - my second race in the row without disco!  ;D

When I said from long way back I meant the 10 second gap I had over you at one point! You relentlessly closed it then got past without me being able to put up much of a fight..to my own disgust!  :P you were quick!

I know but, closing the gap is one thing and overtaking is something else because I`m not type of racer who will go for a gap whatever it takes .. i like clean moves by giving room being overtaken or going to overtake. Your short shifting (i know that after watching replay) make my life easier ...

Really enjoyed the race Clive, never more than 1-2s apart all race. Yeh the BMW didn't like the last turn early on, full fuel gave it too much grip at the rear & it understeered too much until the fuel load went down a little. Wondered what happened on the last lap, I left my braking a little too late & ran wide & fully expected you to nip back past on the inside. Was really surprised to hold on to the place. Great fun though.

Congrats to the podium, well driven guys.
