Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 2550s

Gazza has been in a long, long battle with Simon and sadly tags his rear in turn 10 spinning him around to end it.

It wasn't an attempt at a pass and Gazza was being patient behind Simon but, with hindsight, his nose shouldn't have been poking in anywhere near there. It looks like a momentary slip up, Gazza waited and has duly apologised so penalty reduced.

Server replay time: 4700s

TT is catching Jose at a fair rate of knots as it appears his tyres are going off. TT joins Jose around turn 8 and unfortunately Joses slower pace around turn 10 catches TT out, there is slight contact but enough to send Jose spinning off the track.

Perhaps TT could have taken more care as it was reasonable to presume Jose was slowing for a reason however TT has apologised, reported himself and later waited for Jose, losing another place to Legzy in the process. Jose has accepted that apology.

Can't you cheat the import file then so I end up at the right place? (or edit this imported data afterwards) Smiley

Sporting Regulations - Race Classification
Quote
Competitors will be classified according to the following criteria, in order:
  • Finishing position as recorded in the server export
Currently rFactor is the only sim in use by SRou which supports this.
  • Highest number of laps complete
  • Fastest race time; competitors marked as having retired are classified behind those given a race time
  • Fastest qualifying time

I know it seems harsh but we've all been on the receiving end of it at one time or another. GTL/GTR2 only record the finishing position as it was when the driver left the server, which means it's more than a little ambiguous, and doesn't accurately record all laps, which means the import process can't consistently examine the detailed lap data.

I know, but you're able to do change places by giving out penalties right, so you could just +3 me I think? Kiss

Should've gone to pit then... Would've saved 4 places now Shocked

But what I don't understand is why it removed a lap from me then? Kind of awkward...
Ingame it was correct, the LapChart sees it correct, but the SRou import somehow fails? I think everyone will agree with me that they rather see the correct results then wrong results, but there's nothing to do against this then let it be I guess..

I moaned at SimBin about the inconsistent exports before GTL came out, and then again before GTR2, and then again before Race and Race '07. The rFactor and GPL ones are correct, but SimBin for some reason don't value leagues enough to fix their results exports.

And about the forecast:
Sunday Night
Chance of Rain. Overcast. Low: 25 °C . Wind light. Chance of precipitation 40% (water equivalent of 5.61 mm). Heat Index: 32 °C .

Only a slight chance, not like it's going to be wet 100% Wink

I actually tested with a generated weather file this afternoon and it was sunny with race fully clouded (like end of the race) so I didn't expect it to rain actually (or only mildly, damp, but then you could just drive on with slicks).

When did it change to that? Each time i looked it said rain, rain and chance of thunderstorms for the 3 day spell. Undecided Mind you i was flipping tired this weekend so may have glazed over it too quickly. If i was wrong i will take my foot out of my mouth and apologise. I dont remember it saying 'chance of rain' though otherwise i wouldnt have done so much wet praccy (more than dry!).

Unlucky with that fuel problem though Jimmie.

I also remember it to say "Rain" and "Chance for thunderstorm" but it changed in Sunday I think to "rain" during the day and "chance of rain" during the evening. But I thought we're gonna have at least some rain. Sad Mind you, S10 seems to be almost completely dry. no
I know it was summer but I can remember a number of weather forecasts for rain and the race was completely dry. Sad

Strictly speaking there was some rain - after I crashed out I sat looking at the monitor for a while and it showed very fine drizzle, but I don't think there was ever enough to get the track damp.

Think I'm right in saying that Gazza wrapped up the GT2 championship last night. Congrats  Smiley

Bit of bragging rights in the Team one to fight though, we simply must beat the Leg-ends. And it'd be nice for lambo to beat the beetle thing in manufacturers.

Edit-oops just seen Dave beat me to it  Smiley

Finally after two dodgy races this week i manage to have good one. I wasn't sure about racing as i must have done my back in as it had been a bit tight on friday night but come sunday i could barely standup. At lunchtime it wasnt too bad but got worse and trying to drive was a bit uncomfortable but come the end of the race i was in agony.

Enjoyeably race with Stew starting to hold us up early on, once past i managed to get up with MJ and Lorenzo then had a heart attack when Lorenzo disco'd right in front. Was enjoying running an inch of MJ back side but felt he was holding me up and with the low wear rate on the tyres ended up pitting earlier than planned. This put me out with the leaders coming through sadly. Another MJ classic pitstop put him 30 secs behind me  but some how Legzy jumped us both massively, from being 15 secs behind me to being 8 secs infront. After that I was just not able to be consistent and was doing 36's not being able to properly concentrate on the driving with my back screaming at me!

Quite eventful race that.

Qually was hard at first as the lower temps than i had been practicing with meant i couldn't get into the 33's but as the temp went up a bit the time came. Was quite happy with 5th in the end.

Spent the first 40 mins staring at Simon's 997 rear end, very frustrating as i could brake so much later but never actually get close enough to have a go as he would just pull away slightly on the straights.

Was actually on my in lap when i misjudged the second to last corner and tapped Simon round (really sorry about that, i wasn't attempting a pass) waited for him and lost a few places as we both entered the pits. Lost loads in the pitstop again but chucked softs on and went for it. Got a few places back and caught Jose up, we then had an epic 4 or 5 laps side by side and swapping positions until i got past and managed to pull away and finish 5th where i started  Smiley  Glad Simon was able to get back his 4th aswell.

Grats podiums (teamie H@l for a cracking 3rd)  Cool

Only managed to get to my wheel once the race session had started & with about 90secs till the green light, so no praccy or qually for me & no driving since Thursday.... not my normal pre-race routine Shocked, so loaded a setup with a full tank aiming to do a very late splash & dash as I was starting dead last (24th).

Managed to get past the all seven of the GT3 chaps by the end of lap 4. Some of them flashed me straight past rather then slowing themselves down & a couple of them defended most valiantly which was actually quite a laugh as it was only a mater of time & I was just overjoyed to have made the race at all.

I set about catching Goldtop up first, it took five laps to catch him & as I settled in to follow closely for a bit, he ran wide & through I went only to find JPV & Bob parked on the grass a 100 yards further up the road. So that was ten places made up to 14th quite nicely. It took another 5 laps to catch & pass Jure, who made it a bit harder but I think I got past under acceleration out of T1 (great corner that Cool).

Then it was Stew's turn... I closed down the 4.5 secs in under 4 laps, but I couldn't make a pass as he was strongest where I was strong & looking to make moves on him & he defended where he needed to also. An opportunity might have presented itself as we caught up to lap somebody, but I was off my line & misjudged a bump & binned myself onto the grass rather then take Stew or the back-marker out. I'd lost 8 seconds to him, by the end of that lap but set about making it up again. Chipped away again & when he had a minor off I was back on his tail, instantly realised that for the time it might take to get past I'd lose too much tame for a chance of a higher finish, so made a last second dart into the pits for a much earlier then scheduled stop, but stuck to the splash & dash strategy. I knew this would leapfrog a few people, but I might pay the penalty later as my tyres wore...

Got out about 10 secs ahead of Spanner (one of the guys I'd jumped) & was getting nervous as he quickly had the gap down to just 5 secs & was announcing on teamspeak that he could see me now  laugh. But I think I got lucky with traffic & managed to hold him off while his tyres were still at their peak & if anything Spanner's car faded more then mine Undecided

That was it really, 27 secs to Jimmie ahead with 16 laps to go, so nothing to fight for.... then 27secs dropped to 10secs to Jose must be having problems with one lap remaining Shocked. Gave it my all to catch him (on my now somewhat slippy original tyres) & was shocked to zoom past an empty Jimmie & then TT on the line too as I was just one sec behind Jose by now & at full tilt! Unlucky TT, I had no idea what was happening as I had to swerve slightly to miss you even.

I reckon just one more lap & I could have had Jose who must have been nursing problems, then I could have had a quite ridiculous 24th to 6th place finish. Still, 7th wasn't bad either  Grin

Good to see you are flying the Soggy flag in there Lorenzo.

I tried this too but came to the conclusion that my pc just isn't up to it.

But who knows I might get around to turning all the eye candy right down and giving it another go.

Still hav'nt quite got the hang of those rolling starts yet!

Nice to race with 24 on the grid, even if it is a bit challenging
overtaking and allowing the race leaders through at the same
time!
Thanks JPV for waiting for me to rejoin following the off incident, you
should have carried on and tried to finish the race really.
See you at the next race,Bob.
