Hard luck MJ but you are not missing much.
The car changes seem to have transformed as serious challenge into, for me, a complete waste of time.
2:09 is my best in qually mode.
Otto can do 2:05 in it and Federico can do 2:02 in the 275

Clive You complained about the initial choice at least twice, I had input from several people who agreed with you so I have changed the car set to something easier to live with. I'm sorry if this means you now have to race against Italians instead of a relatively easy points score, but that's life

Well that was a shock! had some spare time last night after making a total dick of myself in a GPL race, so thought I would do a few more practice laps in the Porker. I had d/loaded the track when it was originally posted and did a few exploratory laps, and using my new found knowledge of PnG setups I was easily getting below 2:00 with race fuel and medium tyres. The Porsche was handling very much to my liking and I actually felt that at last I was beginning to crack the PnG code. Imagine my horror when a casual glance at the race post, to be sure I had race fuel set correctly, revealed that my lovely responsive Porsche had magically transformed into a squirming Italian sponge!!! At first I thought I had confused tracks and cars from 2 different posts, but after reading through it seems that there has been a re-think. Ah well I can squeeze a 2:08 on race fuel in a 275, but I think I need much more work on the setup before I could reliably maintain that sort of pace......................

Ah yes, but... have you tried both 250s? the competizione (sic) is much faster than the berlinetta

Well an Italian was 1.6 secs off your 275 pace at Portrero with him in a 250. Here being a slower track I expect it may be similar or maybe less. You would get mugged if you were in a 906 longtail, so at least now you have more of a chance of staying on. Sorry to change things, but I should have done more track time, and maybe involved some other testers if was to use the 906 variants, if I was at home I could have done more, but I am remote so have to do the best I can. The ferris are a tested known car set so are likely to produce a better more fun race, even if that means chasing people in a faster car. I may change the number of laps again when I get a realistic idea of what the faster guys are doing. EDIT: Please could someone test the start lights, as I am "indisposed" I have set 19 laps for now.

I think that I want to revise my assessment of the 250. It isn't that it is awful, as I said previously. It is actually quite nice to drive. It's just that it leaves you, without a shadow of a doubt, knowing that all your efforts to make it go faster are going to fail! I will try out the start lights later on but I don't recall there being any issues on previous events.

I can only manage 2.08s Clive, so we'll tootle around at the back together.

LOL
I'm sweating cobs to tootle in the 2:08s!
Anyway, the lights are fine. Two reds then go on green.

CHortle, the whole point of this particular series is that at times the normal front runners may have to battle it out mid field. Sometimes the car difference is not enough of a handicap to change the results much. For this one, it seems, it will. Thanks for the lights test, I managed Edinburgh to Southport in 3.75 hrs with a pit stop, so I should be able to do the race

I think that anyone who qualifies for a free bus pass can have free pick of the cars as well!

Results and Replay PostedWell Clive might have ended up towards the back with his Bus, but I had a great time Legzy thought my Blue 275 was a brake pedal at one point but I then had loadsa fun tryingto catch faster drivers (mostly in slower cars it has to be said) I actually managed to race Otto for a few laps at the end so the car difference was obviously more than ideal
