Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.

(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

 :taz: OK, I am really PO'd I didn't get any message the race started over and I WAS ON THE 17TH LAP, OF THE FIRST START, then I had to come in for cuts and discovered I was all alone. As it showed me in 5th and I have never been in fifth before. Damn. I just am not sure why I was not informed or the whole thing didn't start over when I was on track the whole time. A full week of work I put into this race.

Don't worry Robby, the race will be rerun at some stage, the 2nd race tonight was just a fun event.

Ok, so we had one of those "bad server" night's. It happens from time to time and it's unfortunate I know but nothing I can do, sorry.

The race we did have (2nd race) was for fun only and does not impact on car use or points.

I have removed Hockenheim (short) and replaced it with Mondello so we will run here again but as the final race of the season.

Meanwhile, results and replay are now posted.

It was fun even though the server problems. In race 1 i had great fight with Alvaro and at race 2 i decided to start from the back to freshen the things a little bit (or i was just lazy?  :oops: )

After contact with Pampa at turn 1 i was lucky to bi in P3 and i started catching the leaders and when i was about to attack Alvaro i made third warning for cuts and my fun was spoiled. Bud i am happy how consistent i drove till the end and that my car was the fastest.

Race 2 I was having fun with Tony taking it in turns to fall off...
I had a bigger off at one point, and bent something, and was now 15 secs behind
with little chance of catching, sorry if I spoiled your fun Tony, but it was too much for me
at that point  :yawn:

A strange evening with the server/internet issues and the re start, but these things are beyond our control. Maybe I am mistaken, but over the past few months there appear to have been a few issues with GTL and servers etc? Before the recent events it always seemed to me that Multiplayer mode in GTL was ultra solid and dependable??

My race(s) were  interesting and fun, although in the first lap melee at T1 a small nudge sent me onto the grass and I lost a lot of ground...but nowhere near the half a lap that I lost at the second attempted start !! LOL  Stuck on the grass unable to find neutral and the "start" button I was like a kid in arcade mode punching every button 20 times a second!! Panic is a wonderful thing when viewed from a distance  ::).

My relationship with my new wheel is building and I am at last beginning to find some pace ( some consistency would be a bonus but ho-hum!!) , but I wonder if anyone can help with a strange anomaly??

GTL fires up and usually the CONTROLS configuration is all OK ( just occasionally I might have to re-calibrate/assign various functions), with the same settings as the last event. In recent races online I discover that during PRACTICE and QUALIFYING I have all the buttons I want working but zero FF ( despite trying to switch it ON/OFF etc in the CONTROLS menu ) and personally I find that very difficult to drive.
 But strangely, when the RACE starts I have FF working  :o and it takes a lap or so to adjust my single working brain cell to adapt. The difference is very noticeable and I feel the car much better with the FF functioning.
I adjust nothing between Quali and Race and yet FF magically appears to turn on. I cannot see any settings in the .plr file that would differentiate between Quali and Race as regards controls, and it would make little sense if there were any such adjustments??.

Is it possible that any attempt by me to modify the CONTROLS menu when online only becomes active when Tony kicks the server from Quali to Race??? Again, that does not seem likely and I am at a loss to understand why this happens??  :-\

For once Lady Luck smiles on you and you're stupid enough to believe it.  Should know by now it's only to mock you even better later on..   Looked like there was a real chance for winning the race, and what happens: the bloody server barfs!!  :taz:

Much in doubt about using Elan or the Alpine - if I couldn't beat the aliens with the Elan, then better save it and use the Alpine, if I was competitive against the normal drivers, but just as I wanted to check their praccy laptimes, all vanished before my eyes and qual started  ::)

Stuck with the Elan then.  Couldn't match DD's phantom pole time, but got a good start, outdragging him to T1. Alvaro got an even better start, but was boxed in behind DD and me, so no way past.  Hung on to the lead and gradually opened a small gap. So looking promising when things turned weird.  According to pit board, I was suddenly P11 instead of P1.  Eyes not what they used to be, but believe I would have noticed 10 drivers passing me in one lap..  Zig Zagged between hanging cars but continued until I was certain the race was over.

Pole on the restart, but with a free run, I couldn't prevent Alvaro from grabbing the lead.  Supremely hard fight ensued, lasting almost half the race. DD closed up while I was attacking Alvaro, so a 3-way battle for the lead. Found a way past after some laps, on the back semi-straight, but had to work very hard to stay in front.  In the 2nd half, Alvaro dropped back for some reason, losing about a second per lap, so I could relax a little.

Clive, no idea what causes your strange FF issue.  I've had sort of the opposite happen a couple of times, where FF works in praccy & qual, but disappers as the race starts.  The wheel was vibrating strangely before, and turning slowly by itself, only to go completely limp with no FF.  Very hard to drive a race like that, and unfortunately I have never found the cause.
