Are we gonna have "manual implimented" rain? No seriously! We cant go the whole season without a rain event. That just sucks the big one!

There isn't as much rain in the world as you would think... I'm looking at a totally different solution for next season.

We're looking at the corner cutting problem as a matter of urgency and I will post an announcement no later than the end of today.

Why not add Knockhill to the racing season then!!!! Must say I much prefer the dry. What times are people achieving at hockenheim? Just the help me gauge how far behind I am

lol Im sure there is, just not 8pm GMT on Sundays What i meant for this race was to force a rain event unless you feel its "cheating" the rules already set out. I'm looking at a totally different solution for next season.
How about out of the 8 race Season, every 3rd event hosts a wet race. Keeps things spread out evenly. We're looking at the corner cutting problem as a matter of urgency and I will post an announcement no later than the end of today.
To help you in your quest here's my view From a Hock Nat race i mentioned elsewhere, admins just warned about using the green surface outside T1, T7 and runoff between the last two corners...everywhere else if you take too much curb its definitely gonna slow you down/spin you. They even had a steward sitting outside T1 to watch those cutting on their quali laps lol

Did my first practice in new, revised Hockenheim yesterday night (last visit to the track was back in GP4 era ). Burnt 100L of fuel just to realise (after checking forum) I should be driving Hock National and not GP version. Back to drawing board. Right. Race trim with a tweaked Donington setup produced stable 1.24s. Aliens, please let me know your race trim times, I have no idea how fast/slow I'm going. TY. Nice track though, lambo oriented imho and no time to relax, Tarzan likes that. edit: any idea how many race laps to expect? as per wet races, perhaps we should implement rule of thumb, dunno, smthn like... if admins girlfriend's got a period, it's a wet race. Period.

My qually time in the Lambo were around 1:20.2 . So race trim is around 1s slower. So I expect mid 1:21's in race.

I think that would make it too predictable....... which the weather as we know isn't! I like the fact we don't know if will be set to rain until 10minutes or so before the race, it throws an added element into the race, adaptability, it makes drivers adjust to the surroundings, giving others who can adapt faster an outside chance. Does anyone practice in the wet? I would be surprised if they did.......

80 mins is 80x60 seconds = 4800 Average lap time in GT at the front end is likely to be roughly around 80seconds, so 4800 / 80 = 60 laps (approx)

With the corner cutting issue, why not leave the rules as they are (min two wheels within the white lines). Surely we can stick to that! If someone is seen consistently cutting or is reportedly cutting too often, exclude them from any points they may have got during that race. If it's a repeated problem ban them for a few races. Can't understand why this has suddenly become a problem? We have had 3 fair seasons in GTR up until now. why are people now deciding to cut corners?

1. The rules as they stand are, from a practical viewpoint, unenforcable. 2. I suspect there has been more cutting in the past that has gone unnoticed. I didn't want them in the first place - it was only massive pressure in the light of the massive cutting GTL allows at Imola which caused us to change. This thread is not the place for the debate though... nor discussion about Season 5 or how the weather is set.

I'm with Don- two wheels on the track at all times is something I've stuck to since the beginning. It's simple, unambiguous and yet still lets me set the car up for the kerbs and attack them a little if I think it'll help my lap time.
We could have a specific corner cut part in each race announcement that for most tracks would say "two wheels only ... etc" or could include a caveat for specific corners, such as the fast left at Oscher.

80 mins is 80x60 seconds = 4800 Average lap time in GT at the front end is likely to be roughly around 80seconds, so 4800 / 80 = 60 laps (approx) therefore our average SROU alien will drive in low 1.22s (traffic taken into the equation, of course) + one 65 sec pitstop. hence 58, perhaps 59 laps. dang. i got tyres worn message after 28-29 laps (front left, of course, rest were fine). interestingly enough, car still felt fine... weird. questions: - is it just me or are those dark spots @ braking areas way too exaggerated? one can start braking well after the dark stuff starts, at least 20% later (i.e. waaaay deep into the corner). - lambo tyres. shoot me if I'm wrong but lambo tends to feel better on low 80 deg.Celsius tyre temp, not more. whatever happened to mid 90's? huh? must have a word with the local Michelin dealer
