Al cars were given rolling starts in North America. No cars raced in rainy weather. F1 went to race there and laughed when told a rolling start was necessary. But, too much excitement can be dangerous for enderly folk.Title: Re: Season 40 1966 and 1971 Can-Am - Registration Post by: Pete Bennett on January 02, 2022, 01:37:44 PM +0000 We're going to keep rolling starts, but please don't let this put anybody off. These cars have so much grunt off the line that it would be carnage to do otherwise. Tris will vouch for me when I say how hard they are to get off the ground from a standing start. At the Nurburgring in S39, Tris took off and immediately turned 90 degrees right and ploughed into the pit wall, even with a rolling start. Game over!
The map will be updated with a red line marking the end of the rolling start each race announcement. REMINDER: All drivers to remain in qualifying position behind the POLE sitter and not to go ABOVE 100MPH A rolling start also adds a different dimension to S40. See you on the track. On my GEM+, I have 4 McLaren : 3 McLaren-Elva ( Mk1 Chev 327 , Mk2 Chev 333,Mk2 Ford 289 ) and one McLaren M1B Chev 361.....:) The Elva built McLaren cars were also known as M1A and M1B (outside USA) so I used those names because they were shorter and the table looked neater. The engine size was the same in both names. However I admit it looks bit confusing so I've changed the name in the table to match the names used in GEM. Hopefully that is better :). Sorry for the confusion. Title: Re: Season 40 1966 and 1971 Can-Am - Registration Post by: Rainier on April 04, 2022, 01:34:07 PM +0100 Where will be the next race of this serie (on 8 April 2022) :
