Morning fellas, i just thought i would pop a post on here to let people know whats going on..
With it being xmas and new year i have not had much time to spend on the PC, im sure even if there was races on i know most of you would be in the same boat and unable to attend so i decided that i would stop until the new year.
I plan on starting the races on the 7th and carrying on from where i left off, i'm hoping to get something on the site in the next day or two.
So, i hope you all had a good christmas and hope you have a good new year tonight and i will see you on the 7th.

I might be up for some of these. Personally I would like some GT3 races, Lotus Elise spec races and some GT86 spec races. Not to bothered on tracks as all the Kunos tracks are great.

An early heads up on the car/track combo would be very useful so we can have a practise whilst most of us are still off work loafing

Skin packs are very easy to use in AC and we've used several already on here for different cars. Think we've already used that Beemer in a series here where were you?

Skin packs seem very hit and miss. You cant specify a skin to use, it randomly chooses a skin for you. The F40 race we did, only one car i remember had a skin from the skin pack!

You can specify a skin to use and you can see a skin being used by an other, as long as you have the skin installed. The only time you don't get your chosen skin, is when the server is set in pick-up mode. For booking mode you need to have selected your skin before you book in, after booking you can't change your skin unless you withdraw first.

Skins can be specified, but need to be preset by entering the users Steam GUID into the server when it is configured for the race. Obviously the skin needs to be loaded onto the server as well and each player will need to download and install that skin on their local system to be able to see it as well. If no skin is specified then the server will just assign the next skin on the list to you when you join the server. It all seems quite long winded, but it is really quite straightforward.

Haha sorry, been sim racing for about 35 years, just fancied a break To be honest, after GTR2, GTL, GPL and Rfactor, I've struggled to get into any of the recent releases. IRacing has been too much hard work, RFactor 2 has either looked crap, run crap or lacked the content. AC has also been pretty poor up until the last 6 months which for me is when it made a huge improvement. Totally loving it now, the content is great and gets better with every update and the physics are amazing. It's giving me the buzz I got when playing GPL. Just want to do some league racing now

No, the skins don't need to be on a server. There are 3 ways to set a server 1: pick-up mode (server gives skin in order of joining) 2: Booking mode (You pick your skin before joining and see if all others, if you have it on your system), 3: GUID mode (Admin sets server with guid numbers and skins)

But when you select the skin before hand, you mean you need to go and do some offline practise in the skin beforehand and then it remembers it? I'm sure aa number of times it didnt work and gave me a different one.

No need to do offline practice, just select your car and skin in practice mode. Only in pick-up mode you can't chose your skin. I always got my choice of skin in booking mode and only the wrong one if I didn't have it selected beforehand.
