Title: UKGPL Season 24 (2013) Sports Car Trophy - Monza - Feb 1 Post by: BadBlood on January 30, 2013, 09:52:26 AM +0000 The season continues for the closed wheel enthusiasts. Welcome to the second round of the combined championship for the GT’s and the Can Ams.
For the first season of this combined series we are keeping it simple and using mostly Papy tracks in a European Championship alternating GTs and Can Ams at the same circuit. So you get to compare the cars and lap times, but at least you will not need to learn new tracks. The rules are simple…. You have a free choice of car for every race, BUT you cannot drive the same car twice. So if you take part in every round you will drive 5 different GT cars and 5 different Can Am cars. You are allowed a single Shift-R followed by a Stop’n’Go which must be taken within 1 lap. All starts will be from a loose staggered grid. There will be NO rolling starts this season, so please be careful . The second race is a re-visit to MONZA but this time we will use the Can Am beasts. Speed remains key, but remember that whatever you use here you cannot use again during this season. So, check the list of tracks carefully before you decide.

I thought I run the UKGPL_8 server for the correct import... Title: Re: UKGPL Season 24 (2013) Sports Car Trophy - Monza - Feb 1 Post by: Cookie on February 01, 2013, 09:35:59 PM +0000 Shame my wheel just was not centered when I entered the grid...
Had a massive right drift in the steering, hope to have not caused any carnage :'( PS Just found my USB cable has fallen into the throttle pedal and so I pulled the cable out of the PC slightly... These are hard work. I am knackered and I did 4 laps less than the rest! Title: Re: UKGPL Season 24 (2013) Sports Car Trophy - Monza - Feb 1 Post by: DLogan on February 02, 2013, 05:00:23 AM +0000 Sorry to see Cookie go missing early. :(
As far as my race, well, pole, win, fastest lap (by more than a second), in sight of lapping the field, no shift-r, no spins, not even an off-track lap, my most consistent league race ever, it was easy, tbh. ...aside from a sideways stationary Porsche (? I think it was) in Curva Grande :o ... Title: Re: UKGPL Season 24 (2013) Sports Car Trophy - Monza - Feb 1 Post by: NickyIckx on February 02, 2013, 08:25:31 AM +0000 :)
Congratulation to Dean on an outstanding win ,very wd !! As well big hand to Dave and Clive on 2nd&3rd . Well, my race ………….perfect start ,P2 into Curva Grande. Soon noticed Dean was way faster then me and as M.Jones got lost at Para in L2 , it looks like an save run to 2nd to me . TILL Lap 13 : First Black Screen after exit of Curva Grande !!!!! To all might wonder why the hell I didn’t left ( especially my 2nd black screen in L30 serves tremendous risk to all following drivers ) , neither my wheels button assigned to ESC , or the keyboard`s ESC did function . Nothing works, except the sound was still there. So only thing I could do was completely lift of throttle & stay on clutch pedal and waiting for spring to come ………….. Watching replay I am extreme glad D.Rainier did survive the crash into my ghost-Lola Well, at least I managed to save P6 over P7…. Pitty Cookie got trouble with his steering equipment! Bad luck that is. Technical note: Wonder if the strange server bandwith settings ( 2/84 2/384 ) might causes the black screens, as I never ever had black screens in GPL or other application before . As usual I joined via IP ,so I was needed to change my core.ini to the server settings before. I didn’t had done any other changes to my PC and temps of CPU,GFX and RAM etc. were ok .(checked after race immediately ). Or was it maybe these sideways stationary Porsche at end of Curva Grande causes mismatch ? Anyroads, I really enjoyed to race these big Lola260. huge fun . There was less warping reported. Nicky you should be the one with the best ping to my server and you have afaik a good connection too. I had not planned to use it in the race, but when I ran the server for a test last night, just before the race, it was suddenly crowded and I forgot to set it back for the race... Title: Re: UKGPL Season 24 (2013) Sports Car Trophy - Monza - Feb 1 Post by: Mark Jones on February 03, 2013, 12:51:04 AM +0000 M.Jones got lost at Para in L2 Yes, good challenge in the mad CanAms. I did fall victim to Diabolica sadly, and despite not actually hitting anything GPLRA records I picked up some left rear suspension damage, which caused a big wobble and crash in the Lesmos, which caused some engine trauma. It seems these CanAm cars are fairly delicate despite how they look. And sound. ;D Grats to Dean.
