I've seen a stream of those big grid races and it looks a bit much, with much silliness at the lower end of the field.  Having so many cars in the game just kills the FPS even with high end systems, so I think they are going a bit too far.  Probably 60 car grid races would be a sensible limit that's do-able and enjoyable, and beyond that it starts to get silly.

True, i didnt quite see the point of 100+ grids either, seemed more for bragging rights, but also wondered if it was for testing purposes, ie straining the system.
I've seen 60 car grids at Monza for the Blancpain in RL and dont see any point in being bigger than that really. I'd say 30-40 cars is probably optimum for most tracks tbh. As long as you have a few cars to race every lap, even our 20 car grids in the past were good enough most of the time.

I downloaded the new pack the other day and tried Kyalami which is not how I remember it, but I'm sure accurate none the less.

100 cars is madness. 60 cars is a bit too far too unless you're doing actual 12 or 24 hour races. 30-40 max I would say for most tracks.

TBH, not sure I can be bothered with AC anymore. If I abandon ACC it will more likely be to try iRacing again or to go play some non-racing games on the PS4.

A nordschliefe race with 100 cars and multiple classes would be epic, but I doubt it'll happen...

As for iracing heh, I have been dabbling with that, and still not convinced.  A couple of cars with the latest tyre model are fairly decent but others are not, and anything on the older tyre models is just meh.  To be successful you have to drive like a robot, never exceeding the limits, and that is hard for me. Being able to just jump on and get a good race with full grid at any time is a big pull though, so I'm not quite finished with it yet...

must be something wrong with your hardware setup Bob, mine runs fine and has done for some time Undecided  have you made sure you are running the latest nvidia drivers?
it cant be garbage when there are 100 car servers being hosted throughout the world !  Shocked

what gfx card have you got?

must admit, despite buying the ICC pack a couple of weeks ago, i havent done a single lap in ACC for several weeks  Cry  just havent had the spare time and when i have, its been used for f1 75 practise or Dirt Rally 2 in VR (which i love!).  Cool

Running 8086K cpu at 5gig, 1080 gpu, 32gig ram, Oculus cv1, runs great on monitor but VR is far from good, 45fps. Latest driver, PC runs all other VR games perfect. ACC has never been as promised in VR and wont invest in another monitor juist to play it. Will stick with AC. Also play Dirt Rally 2.

The CPU is  the 40th Anniversary Edition, pre binned and running at 5.1gig, my weak spot is GPU but it runs everything else sweet.

And in the summer the console community will be able to play it on PS4 and Xbox which is great for expanding the user base.

British pack (arriving winter 2020) is only adding 3 tracks so don’t get too excited which I assume is oulton park, snetterton and donington, as silverstone, brands hatch and yes, spa are the other British circuits lol that are already in the game.

forgive my ignorance, but will console users be able to log on to our server and race?
