Stick the Elite in Yellow?
EDIT:
Clive may be right, Aintree isn;t used for serious racing these days.. but here's a couple of very short
clips of me "trying" to be serious in Village corner
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNEWQ9qKxxgEDIT:
It's a Peugeot 106 Rallye Mk1. it is in a road going Hillclimb and sprint class under 1400. regs mean you can
only change certain things. The engine is a 1360 8 valve head, limiter cuts in at 8500, peak is
150bhp at 7200, car weighs around 760kg. suspension is very stiff particularly the rear, there is very
little roll with it, making it "entertaining" in the wet. It's currently having the gearbox rebuilt as it snapped
the output shaft... it has a quaife ATB diff, but most of the gearbox bits are standard, and it's putting
out 1/2 as much power again as it was designed for. it had to run on normal road tyres so could be
quite a bit quicker of track day tyres were allowed. If I put slicks on it it would go up to the Modified
Production class with full blown racers which are fully stripped out etc. Mine has to have a working heater
and radio, because it had them when new...I drive it to events, real "gentleman racer" style as I have
nowhere at home to put a trailer.
There are some in car and external vids of it's previous incarnations on my site
(had to use a proper "Rallye" shell to keep within some people's idea of the regs.) :
