When we raced with GT1s here I found that I was much faster with a low wing setup, almost LeMans style with shorter gears.
So far my practise with the GT500s has been low wing (2-2) but, the car feels very wobbly under braking. I have not done higher wing runs yet but, I suspect having just a little higher than 2-2 will be better. I cant remember my time off hand, sorry.

This is what it says in the rules.. Automatic gears will not normally be permitted, but may be exceptionally allowed at the series director's discretion.
So get onto the series director..H@l

This track is good fun in these cars, cant wait . Low 2.05's for me with a high DF setup, just couldnt get on with a low wing setup. Felt a high wing on the front helped with the high speed corners/straights then the back became too unstable. Tried a two lap, no fuel run and did a low 2.03

I would say there is very little between any of them though i have found the nissans a little easier. start with default, change brakes and steering for personal preference, gearing is too long by default, try dropping each gear by 3 clicks as a start. I raise front pressures by 5 clicks or so as they are always low compared to the rears, raise the rear arb and drop the front arb by one. That is approx what i do as a start off the top of my head, might not be exact but is about right.
These are really like LMPs in all but name i feel, so being smooth, not sliding or getting sideways is key.

I think they all suffer from understeer Tudor so increase the front splitter, soften the front etc. The non-Jap motors (Lambo, Mclaren and 550 especially) are off the pace but they are more fun. They also look/sound better Really good track/car combo. Hope your mate can make it Apex. As auto gears are no advantage I see no reason why it shouldn't be allowed?

The server had been running the non UKGTR version, sorry, sorted now. The only difference is the race time, no grip changes or anything like that. i have a friend that would like to join us.
Did you get my Personal Message Apex? The server is currently set to allow auto gears. My times using low wing (2 - 2) were in the 2.08's, after trying high wing (4 - 12) I was in the 2.05's, so higher wing is definitely the way to go.

Had a quick blast this afternoon and I struggle with feel in all of these cars. I'm at 2:07 in the Aston with low wing, so I'm going to try it with higher wing settings tomorrow as it felt the most responsive.
Haven't even considered strategy yet and won't get much chance to test, so what are the options then? Will meds get me to the pitstop?
