So. the server has lost all info on where to send the results to. It did send them to my server, and saved them on the server itself but it decuded to save them as .json, and our system needs .xml And it has now lost any remote save info, so I have entered the info again. Hopefully it will save tonight's event correctly.
Not sure what to do with Thursday's results, have to talk to Dave..

So.
This event will not count towards the championship We only have a .json of the results, and our system needs .xml I have tried converting .json to .xml in the past, and it is fraught.....
I will add another event at the end of the series, or maybe re run this one then
I think it was probably an update that caused the reset and loss of destination address but, if anyone wants to change these settings, please don't without letting me know
Ta Matt

Isn't the race result recorded local on our PCs?

Isn't there a way to enter the results manually? I know Tony sometimes corrects results errors for the GTL races, does he do that manually?

Something has to be imported into our system before manual changes can be made. I'll have a look to see if the whole result can be "man-made". EDIT: Nope, nothing I can do I'm afraid.

You can't hand-edit an xml file?

We only have a .json of the results, and our system needs .xml (like Matt stated in a previous post)

Yes as a .txt file. Would it be possible to convert one of those to .xml? It only contains the race times & fastest laps for each competitor, no qually times, but those don't matter anyway.

No just one for the race. Raceroom does not seem to have the provision to date stamp results files, so unless you manually rename your last results file it overwrites it the next time you race. At least I have not found a way for it to do so, if anyone else has, shout. In GTL you can change a setting in your plr file if I remember correctly but in RRE the plr file is encrypted.

A JSON file is just another form of text file and in fact looks remarkably like XML. However for some reason the structure nesting in the two in RRE is quite different but possibly not too hard to fix but then they go and use different units for all sorts of other stuff Suddenly what looks simplish becomes a much bigger job.

There is a function in the system where we can adjust the finish position of an event. But, it only sees events that have had the results uploaded Dave wrote our results system to input .xml It doesn't understand .json I asked if we can use a .json, and his reply was "probably not" There are xml to json converters on line, but I have done this in the past for exactly the same situation we have here, and the result did not work. Nothing is impossible, but I am not prepared to copy an old results file, and edit it to become a file for this event. or spend time trying to translate json to xml, when altough I know it may be possible, previous attemps have failed to make something that our system can understand When we first started with R3E the results were unuseable, so Dave cjose to create an importer for xml, so that's what he have. I will upload the results json file and make it available if anyone fancies a crack at it.
Dave says no is good enough for me

Only place I can find that doesn't say 14th Oct is the calendar. I can't update the calendar with out deleting the incorrect entry in LM2 (which was ???number) so I have created a second event page. The results will use one of them I don't know for certain which. If you can sort it Mark, please do.
