That was some ker-razy racing! I found the Radicals a real handful around this track but it was great fun all round and I saw some great driving considering we haven't got a lot of experience in these cars, it could have been absolute chaos! I'm kicking myself I threw away a podium in race 2 but at least I discovered how to get the car airbourne

Race 1 was great, exept for taking out Bernie at the end when my brakes locked- I waited so not to take the spot but Joss got passed both of us, and I wasn't fast enough on Teamspeek to ask him to let you by. So sorry about that the rest of the battle was brilliant No worries, racing as close and as hard as that for pretty much the entire race was great fun. The fun and excitment of the racing fair outweighed the disappointment of not pivking up the win. Nothing in it between the 3 of us in the first race. Like everyone else i seemed to make a lot more mistakes 2nd race. Was much more difficult being in the pack but was good fun fighting through. Great drive by Zacari in race 2 to finish on the podium with hlaf his bodywork missing.

Has anyone any idea why I am shown as driving a Caterham? Maybe it was the custom skin? Anyway the races were fun - I can't understand why more people don't show up for these races. Perhaps because it's not GTR2(and never will be) but it's still worth turning up. Had a wierd experience being followed by a strange vehicle - thought it was a Touring Car. Then Zacari flew past me with the entire front end of the car missing. I don't know how he managed to drive it but he was bloody quick. Has anyone got a setting for these cars that does anything at all. I have run the car as soft and as hard as it can be made and it just didn't seem to alter the handling one bit around this track.

That would be my mistake during the imports I'll get Gizmo to look at it.

I said that without moving my lips. Just back from the dentists. A considerably less painful experience that last night's crash. I'm starting to wonder whether I should swap my new and old graphics cards round, then I would be all-nVidia in my workstation and ATI on the games box. I doubt it'll make that much difference to performance and it might be more stable.

So what are you running on your RACE 07 machine? Intel E8400 + Nvidia 8800 GT? Is it multi monitored? What are your graphics card settings in the Nvidia control panel?

Apparently the recent 169 drivers for the nvidia cards are much better for the more recent games, e.g. Race 07 - but give problems to the older ones like GPL.

There's some graphical weirdness going on for me too. In the last couple of races I've had some horrendous stuttering after having no problems in the test races. There seems no relationship between the stuttering and where I am on the track an the number of cars around, it seems completely random. Last night I quit out of practice and turned some of the graphics settings down which helped but the strangeness is that I can run offline on the same tracks with a full grid and never get the stuttering

Logged on just after 2000 hrs. Severe lag – exited and disconnected line. Reconnected, checked ping rate and disconnected line - repeated until had a better rate. Joined again for last few minutes of Qualifying - one flying lap, 10 out of 12 – no lag even on start. This was my first VM Race 07 race. Had a few laps battle with Picnic until he had a nasty end over end off the Armco, also someone else in a red car - finished 8th. Race 2 start was OK got tipped off whilst braking at T2, thanks for waiting for me to get back – you had a grandstand view for my big lag in the braking area after the flat out hump. After that I couldn't settle back into the grove and had more offs. I quit to save my “Download” total. It was all good fun while it lasted. Bill

Yes, E8400 and 8800GT. No multi-monitor on the games box, just 1280x768 32-bit. Nothing special set in control panel except for 60Hz refresh rate. No overclocking or other dodgyness. Apparently the recent 169 drivers for the nvidia cards are much better for the more recent games, e.g. Race 07 - but give problems to the older ones like GPL.
I don't have any problems at all in GTR2; GTL we'll probably find out tomorrow night. Only Race '07 and - it would seem - only online. No GPL on that machine. I'm on the 169 drivers.

Real weird Dave. I'd keep updating your drivers with the newest releases until it fixes the problem. You could try runnin your old Radeon to see what happens, but it'd be a waste to keep it like that.

Think I need to practice more. Had issues trying to get Race to start, I try and do it from the Wingman Profiler in the vein hope that the TeamSpeak PTT will work on the wheel. Wouldn't run and when I looked there were no executables in the Race07 folder! They appeared while I was trying other stuff so I guess Steam was doing an update it wasn't going to tell be about.
So joined the server with under 4 mins of qual time left - no setup and the only laps I'd done here were in a test WTCC race yonks ago. So no surprise I was last on the grid.
First race was a bit of a mare, was having some fun battling down at the tail end until I decided to head butt a tyre wall. No front end but unlike Zacari I couldn't go that quick but it gave me a chance to practice some lines.
Race 2 was much more fun as I was able to keep cars in sight and got lucky when Pops and PRibero both decided to exit stage left at that fast right over the brow over the last couple of laps to donate me a podium. I was also lucky Tinman was able to hold Zacari up because he closed so quickly in his broken Radical once passed and I expect he would have had me if there had been another lap.

Offline my system could cope, but online it couldn't. Worth checking your settings.
