Maybe, if you do lap 1 five times, going back and forth. ;D Title: Re: UKGPL Season 21 (2011) Historic (66) - Brno (1949-64) - Jun 21 Post by: BadBlood on June 18, 2011, 06:15:14 PM +0100 I wouldn't put it past me :D lol

The GPL crashed when we are going to race grid, so my participation finnished there... Hope next week I can race with the 65 cars :) Title: Re: UKGPL Season 21 (2011) Historic (66) - Brno (1949-64) - Jun 21 Post by: BadBlood on June 21, 2011, 09:57:30 PM +0100 OK - under no illusions and so I let Phil and Juha through early doors. They nmust have had some issue because suddenly there they were :( Rather than crash them out I nobly went off and hit a tree - hard. Amazingly it could continue, then I slid wide and found myself stuck in the crowd but I got loose. Finished the lap and then went for it - OK I'm going to finish last but I'll finish dammit. Except the engine blew - couldn't believe it - must have damaged the engine in the crash because I look after my engines and I have NEVER blown one before.
My luck sure is out with this damn series. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 21 (2011) Historic (66) - Brno (1949-64) - Jun 21 Post by: BadBlood on June 21, 2011, 11:00:58 PM +0100 Blimey - doesn't look like there was a whole lot of luck for anyone. Well done Tim

The GPL crashed when we are going to race grid, so my participation finnished there... Hope next week I can race with the 65 cars :) Make sure you register Rogerio :) If you're a faster driver then you want the Pro's :) My race went well, qualified 3rd (Would have probably made 2nd but had to crash to avoid a recovering Fulvio in the final minutes :( (My own fault, misjudged your speed relative to mine)) Start went awesomly with me leaping into a nice comfy first before the village, I lost a lot of that lead at one of the high speed left hand kinks when I bottomed and went very sideways - then I braked slightly late in the hairpin at the next village letting H close right up. We were racing at close priximity for the next lap until I made a mistake and span allowing H to pass and dissapear out of sight. For the next 2 or 3 laps I concentrated hard on catching (Or at least holding steady against) H, which had little noticable effect - until I passed a spinning white thing late in the lap, glanced at prib the next chance I got and realised I was back in the lead again! ;D This didn't last too long as Hristo was able to use my Draft and some later braking to gain quickly - when he did make his pass I didn't fight too hard as we still hadn't reached halfway, although I was carefull to stay close. After passing the 50% mark I decided to push harder, passing on the straights would be easy, but first I had to suss out how to stay close to H on the exit's leading onto the biggest straights so i could actually use that to my advantage. Just as I was starting to 'get it', Hristo disco'd right infront of me appraoching the S/F line (Which scared me half to death I might add when he vanished!) which handed me a new FL ;D From there on it was just a case of finishing as Juha and Fulvio were too far back to be a threat unless I crashed. Bad luck on the engine Juha! and well done to Fulvio for hanging on in there and eventually inheriting 2nd :) Title: Re: UKGPL Season 21 (2011) Historic (66) - Brno (1949-64) - Jun 21 Post by: FullMetalGasket on June 21, 2011, 11:02:56 PM +0100 That's odd - I'm sure I watched Fulvio finish?
He should be a lap down but pretty sure he shouldn't be a Disco :) Title: Re: UKGPL Season 21 (2011) Historic (66) - Brno (1949-64) - Jun 21 Post by: Hristo Itchov on June 21, 2011, 11:18:47 PM +0100 How come I took 4th, lol!

Mind you I've never seen a disco for the winner but now I'm tempting fate ;DTitle: Re: UKGPL Season 21 (2011) Historic (66) - Brno (1949-64) - Jun 21 Post by: fpolicardi on June 21, 2011, 11:39:34 PM +0100 That's odd - I'm sure I watched Fulvio finish? Yes I was lapped but finished on my leg. Maybe one lap down on 9 laps race is too much to be qualified for GPL.He should be a lap down but pretty sure he shouldn't be a Disco :) The 43 was a tanker on this track, plus I put too much fuel in the rush of start and had too short 6th gear for the long straight. Ended with still 37 L. even if I was lapped. I had to (almost) learn the track in practice, and in the race, sry for slowing down ahead of you in practice H and Tim. Mhhh I guess I'll have again to cope with slow cars next race :( Ciao Ohoh, I spoken too early, good luck Tim :D Title: Re: UKGPL Season 21 (2011) Historic (66) - Brno (1949-64) - Jun 21 Post by: jhalli on June 21, 2011, 11:46:33 PM +0100 grats Tim for win the race , no track practising with 66's before the race, not even time to do quali time but i did know the track from earlier league races. I hold strong 2nd place till my BRM engine exploded when there was 2 laps to go,who said BRM was a tank ? ;D retirement reason is wrong in the list.
Juha Title: Re: UKGPL Season 21 (2011) Historic (66) - Brno (1949-64) - Jun 21 Post by: fpolicardi on June 22, 2011, 09:59:15 AM +0100 grats Tim for win the race , no track practising with 66's before the race, not even time to do quali time but i did know the track from earlier league races. As a tanker I mean a big truck full of fuel :DJuha I had to baby the engine and short gearing to keep oil temps low. I voted on the pool for the Novices Cup, so I think I'm applied for it. Is that right? "Tim got an excellent start and shot past an unusually slow starting H." ;D I'm usually a slow starter. :P Title: Re: UKGPL Season 21 (2011) Historic (66) - Brno (1949-64) - Jun 21 Post by: FullMetalGasket on July 05, 2011, 07:42:52 PM +0100 Yeah, I normally only comment on Hristo's starts if he actually makes a good one! ;D
