rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v3.1 from:  http://www.gtlw.co.uk

Still trying to work out (with some help) which cars can run in the same race without leaving it for dead
It is in my Pork useless hands faster than the RSR2.8 and is a fun drive here.

Think that it would be good to update the "Notes" section on the announcment so that v3.1 gets a mention.

There might be another Burt out there trying to batter his way in with v3.0

Back straight is all tarmac/road surface to me. I can't think of anywhere other than the grass that is out of bounds.

I had more trouble than usual getting a decent mix here. Several people were kind enough to do some testing
the results of which are now the car choices. Some people had some cars faster than others did, but
the results will give an interesting race I believe.  :sorcerer:

great track, one of the best, and cool selection of cars!

The Escort is quite quick here, slightly faster for me than the Porsche which is however the sweeter drive. The Porsche setup I used for the April race with PG3.0 carried over well, I didn't have to adjust anything.

I'm not a Capri driver at all, and don't get on with American muscle either - as Burton witnessed to his amusement, I use it mostly to creatively re-arrange trackside furniture.

teach me not to re-read the posts,  ::)  I jumped In the 12v BMW3.3 for some laps last night thinking, by heck this things fast!, after blitzing my 2.8RSR times by many seconds...only to find its not in the list now!  Thankfully. Would make a great race against the 3.0RSR though in other events as times were similar.
One to test/think of in the future. Seems a better match than the 3.1 capri and 24v BMW we keep pitching the outgunned RSR against.

I jumped on the praccy server for half hour or so last night and there was nobody but Niels on there and even he didn't stay long.

Quite looking forward to this one as like the track and cars.  :) No doubt that means some impatient so and so will punt me off early  ::)

will be scary fast and nerve wracking in sector 1 in any close company!  :o so I hope peeps have practised progressive hard braking into the hairpin! Don't want someone barrelling down from the back and wiping out half the field because they couldn't brake in time.
We should start wielding the naughty stick if there is silly contacts tonight, seen it creeping in again lately.

Plenty of places to overtake safely here so use some patience!

For what it's worth, I remember the last race we had here was fairly civilised, I didn't witness any hairpin dramas though I'm not certain there were any further in front or behind.

I think I'll be in the Escort tonight, I did the previous race in the Porsche.

Apologies to Niels. I completely misjudged your(the Escort's) entry speed at the fast righthander after S/f line.
Sorry I robbed you of a nice race. Totall Noob blunder!
Will have to go back to racing school.

Don't worry Dan, I was overly cautious trying to make sure not to run into the car in front. Chain reaction, I guess.

I had hoped to do more than one lap in this race but it wasn't to be. Very busy start to say the least - I got off the line ok but only for about 2 metres, as the car in front stalled. I got bogged down, and then got sideways when I let the clutch in too quickly, forcing other cars to take evading action. I was then too cautious for the rest of the lap and lost two places, won one back but then slowed down too much and got rearended into T1.

This is an amazing track, but I was never going to finish in the top 10 anyway.

That was a great ending to the series, Thanks to all who took part, and there will be more series starting in January
There will be fun races for a couple of weeks before the Championship events start.

I had some great fun dicing with Legzy and Stig for a while until the rears started going on the RSR
which I am not used to driving with manual clutch, twice I bounced off a fence and was so busy trying to
keep the engine running I backed up into people's way, sincere apologies to all for that, Donato in particular  :hang:
Legzy actually couldn't avoid contact at one point when I was sat in the middle of the road with a dead engine :o
He was good enough to wait the first time, after that was all my own fault.

On my replay, Geoffers crosses the line in 6th and then goes and parks his car a country mile away.

Meanwhile, when I cross the line, having had a similar accident to his, it tells me that I'm 6th and he gets knocked back to 7th.

LOL  I think that the stewards must have investigated his crash after the race, as they say, and applied a one place penalty!   ;D

I got a S/G penalty for cutting the track when I went across the grass at the hairpin. ::) Otherwise a good race despite one or two brushes with the barrier, couldn't keep up with the Italians & Ivan but enjoyed the Zakspeed Escort.

Congrats to the podium & to John & the Soggies for championship success.

Good race that, enjoyed it  :)

Qualied a disappointing 11th as had hoped for higher until I saw how quick the zakspeed was and how many were in it  ::)
Got a great start for a change only to have NPPs car suddenly change direction and biff me straight into the barriers so quickly lost the 2 or 3 spots I would have gained  :(
But then had a great 4 way battle with a pair of escorts and a Capri for a few laps dicing places, and soon joined by Ed in his 911. That was great fun. Unlucky for Bob his escort let go under engine braking and I picked off JX and ed after a while. This left me chasing Jesper in his Capri for almost the whole race only 2 secs behind. Then late on I got an oversteer moment in a corner and the gap got bigger. Slowly closed until the end keeping him honest but he didn't falter. Good job.

Finished 9th. Congrats to podium and well done John on the drivers championship and SbRc on the teams champ  :thumbup1:

Grats to the podium, JW and the Soggy Bottoms.

Mixed race for me. I've been looking forward to driving the new Eskie and, in general, it was huge fun. I love the noise it makes. Anyway, quali went ok, made an indifferent start and managed to avoid any potential accidents early on. Some really good racing with MJ and our little group early on till I started to get picked off. As the race wore on I was losing concentration but managed to pick off Animal Ed after he had an off. I was running alone for a while but gradually dropping back to Ed et al. Ed got me mid race through the long right hander onto the back straight, stayed in contact with a bit of tow and made a bit of a silly dive into the next corner. Gave Ed a nudge, for which I'm truly sorry dude, let him go after he recovered and managed half a lap before my concentration completely went so I bugged out.

I'm struggling a bit with this length race whilst using the pad. It was at least 10 minutes after I bugged out before I could open up my hands   Anyway, as someone mentioned, grotmas is coming and hopefully a G27 will be arriving in my neck of the woods.

Looking forward to the next time.

[Edited for language >:( ]

Further edit: Sorry about that...sincere apologies for any offence caused.

Sorry Mark, I had tried to avoid a car that bogged down in front of me and getting back on the power I got sideways. I didn't want to go where I then went - still it was a driver error and I have to take the blame.

No problem Nils, I could tell it was an involuntary move! Just shame it was me that caught the result   didn't do any damage.
Racing was nice and clean all round last night, a pleasure to see  :)

Woohoo, just realised I finished 4th in the championship despite missing a couple of rounds, pretty damn happy with that

So, what was the problem with the Mustang? I would have raced this last night, but I quickly lost interest when one or two guys indicated that there were problems with it.

Some couldn't join or were kicked out of the game, because of some unknown relation to the mustang. I rather had the mustang than the capri, would've been more fun to drive.
Start was a bit laggy and started slow to avoid any incidents. Was still getting to grips with the online feel of the Capri and made some mistakes, but other than that good fun. Had a nice tussle with Bob, Johnny X and Mark for a couple of laps and then needed all of my concentration to stay ahead of Mark. Thanks for the fun guys.

Well done to John and our Soggy Team.   :jumpjoy:

Glad you enjoyed it Erik and many thanks for all of your help.  You were top Capri too!

We might need your help next week too as we have to reverse a small Kerbie advantage.

Not sure what happened to John last night.  I saw him on the grass at T1 but then he vanished.

Ivan did us proud again as well.

Wohoo :) Well done team :thumbup2: Two champs down, three (?) to go for a clean sweep.

Glad you could join us, Erik. Was hoping to have a race with you in the Capri, but it wasn't to be.

FFB cut out on the start line, not the best way to end the season :(

Is there anyone SBRC or WSL haven't recruited?!
After seeing both Jester and JX drive well and cleanly I thought I might offer them a job with the Legends, only to yet again find they had both been already signed up  ::)
You lot are becoming the modern day Team Shark !! No wonder your winning the champs when 80% of the drivers are in your team  :surrender:

I also wanted to run with the Mustang........unfortunately some of us couldn't join with the server when there was a Mustang inside. Even when they were able to enter (thanks to your patience), if someone get back in with the Stang they were forced out of the server....... None of this problem in our practice server has occourred...very strange..... ???

For the race, a near pefect lap granting me the pole..... Good start, a couple of laps to regain the feel with the RSR (i trained with the Boss), and so trying to mantain the gap with Reali behind of me....good race!

See u next week!  ;)

Has this Mustang joining issue occured before?

There is a thread at Nogrip where bugs can be filed. I'll post there, about this, later.

Sorry about your legends Mark but the increased interest that Team7 were showing in our races has meant that SBRC has had to raise its game if we are to compete in the future.  Ivan looked a promising prospect when he appeared back in July and has come on in leaps and bounds over the last couple of races so that we now have two drivers who can take the battle to Italy.   ;D

Erik, a friend from the MARA League, finds our races a bit too long as a rule but has been busy in the back-room, supplying us with setups for a couple of months now and it was great to have him make an appearance for us.  Shame he didn't take the Zakspeed but expect no mercy next week as we have to claw back a few points in the last race of the P8BHC season!

We try to support all of our drivers and help them to move up the pecking order, not just the ones who usually bag the team points because you never know when disaster is going to strike.

See you at Goodwood.   :P

EDIT:  Think I shall have to cancel all shore leave until the championships are won!

Bah no worries Moggs and Clive, I'm just lamenting being pretty much a privateer these days with no team mates driving p&g and no one to share set ups with etc :'(
Would be helpful if you big teams didn't snap up every single new driver that shows up on these shores though!
It would be healthy to have more teams on the grid to add to the competitive spice  :)

As a team of one I feel quite pleased to finish 5th in the team championship too  ;D

I too had practiced long and hard with the Mustang to find it not allowed due to the problem  people had joining the server.  Took the Escort on a whim and it only lasted 5 laps then  missed a gear and blew it to bits. Noticed a couple of comments about sharing set ups, as one of the less  talented drivers all set ups  would be gratefully received.  ;D

Why don't you have a word with Donato (ElPorracho), Mark, he isn't in a team & seems pretty quick!!!!! That is if Clive hasn't already snaffled him.  ;)

I expect he's already been wined and dined by Clive  ;) plus he's from another planet to my modest sim racing talents  :-[ I just want a couple of clean honest plucky racers to fight for points  :) easy option would be for me to leave the Legends and join another team but just can't bring myself to do that yet despite it being very tempting :(

Hi all,
thank all those who have given us the opportunity to participate having changed their car, and I apologize for the misunderstanding with Tudor during the race.

Congratulations to the podium and to all the riders on the track.

Sorry but I think it's truly rubbish that in a race with 22 drivers (which is a fairly average attendance for us) 7 of the drivers are for one team.
I would actually like to push for abandoning the team championships from next season till teams limit themselves to say 4/5 named drivers for a championship season.
IIRC, back in the Day, Team shark split into an 'A' & 'B' team as winning the 'Team Championships' value was reduced greatly by their sheer size & dominance.
I dare say that the winning team over the season would still be the SBRC (which I have no objection too, as I believe they are a very well run team) for the majority of the titles, but it would hopefully encourage some competition & make it worth having a glance at the team table from time to time again.
I know I (part of Team Oldie) certainly miss the team banter with the Soggys (who are way ahead) & the Leg-ends (who are sadly lagging somewhat behind now).

"Sorry but I think it's truly rubbish that in a race with 22 drivers (which is a fairly average attendance for us) 7 of the drivers are for one team."

If I'm not mistaking, only the result of the best two drivers from a team is counting. So how will it make a difference to limit the number of team members?

Personally I wouldn't mind not being representing the SBRC, 'cause I hardly ever finish a race, and if I do, I'm never one the two best from my team. But I don't see the point, unless you want to limit the number of team members joining the races. That not a good idea is it?

There are many reasons for being in SBRC; not being in Team Oldie being one of the most important!

Some contribute to the development of setups, some are engaged in fighting the Kerbies/Team7 and kicking seven bells out of The Oldies!

Some are part of SBRC so that we can help them to go faster by sharing setups and any other race information.  Some people do not have time to sort their own setups and would probably just pack in if they were not able to access something useful.

As Stig has said.  It is the first two home in any team that earn the points, the rest of us are backup and admin.  So it's the first two that you are racing and if you think that any of the rest of us will help you to get on terms with Team7 then please explain how.  LOL

When attendances reach a point where the league needs two divisions, we will be ready.   ;D

You are welcome to join Team Pseudo Stig  ;D
Then at least we would score "some" points with 2 drivers.

Interesting point about the numbers, I think two divisions is interesting but unlikely
I think the numbers will shrink slightly next year as some, or all the Italians start their own leagues
But 20 or more is becoming fairly regular which means there is usually someone to race against
wherever you come in the pack. Not sure exactly why we are getting relatively high numbers these days
certainly a lot of it is to do with marketing work from MJ, Geoffers, and others.
Hopefully we can continue to provide events that people find worth putting some time in for.  8)

Perhaps us solo team racers need to unite to form Team pseudo oldie Legend  ;D. We could actually form a unique p&g team  :-\ though me and Legz love being rivals  ;D

But I agree 7 racers from one team in a race is too lopsided. And I don't buy the weak reasoning that only top 2 score the points, as having 7 guys in with a shout kinda swings the law of averages! Pretty sure Team Shark used to say the same  ;)
Don't begrudge you having a good spread of drivers but the recent policy of snapping up all the new guys is what has led to us minnows having no one to recruit. The teams table adds another fun element in the rivalry and banter so would be healthy if there were a few teams to do battle.

Otherwise A few of us will have to be content with plugging along as a privateer I suppose. :-\ lord knows why the various Legends have dropped off the sim racing radar ...quitters!  ::)
