The 1967 Formula 1 Grand Prix championship is intended to provide the ultimate challenge for the most accomplished "Works" drivers using the original 1967 car set.  The final championship positions will be determined after each driver has discarded their worst two results.

This championship will feature long races and is aimed at drivers who want the challenge of a Grand Prix distance event. It is expected that the the faster "Works" drivers will be attracted to this championship but "Privateer" standard drivers are also welcome and they will be allocated the faster chassis. However, resets will not be allowed under any circumstances. Consequently, "Privateer" standard drivers may chose to enter the 67F1 Sprint race series where a single reset is allowed.

During qualifying drivers are expected to drive back to the pits after each qualifying run. It is not permissible to return to the pits using the "Esc" key. If a driver crashes his car in qualifying and cannot return to the pits safely under his own power, he must not participate in the remaining qualifying period. The driver will allocated the grid slot achieved at that point.

On some tracks it may not be possible to complete the full race distance on one tank of fuel. To avoid having to drive conservatively in order to save fuel, it is recommended that drivers make use of the Pit Stop patch which allows refuelling. Drivers will be allocated a chassis by the moderator at the start of the season. The faster drivers will be allocated the slower chassis, the intention is to encourage closer racing. The moderator will review the chassis allocation mid-season and drivers may be reallocated where this would be appropriate.

The moderator may reduce the race distance for some of the more challenging circuits.
