| UK Formula Armaroli Championship | This was our first official foray into the world of rFactor-based competition.
We used the ASRWC cars. The season was planned as a 6 race series but was concluded a race early because of dwindling grid sizes.
SimRacing.org.uk also ran the official Team Great Britain entry in the 2006 Armorali SimRacing World Cup.
Start Procedure
Formula Armaroli races were run from a standing start following a formation lap. The cars have launch control and this must be used; anyone causing an accident because they fail to use launch control may be subject to penalties.
To use launch control, the car must be in neutral and at a standstill. Press and hold the launch control button or key ('/', forward slash, by default), then apply full throttle. When the lights go green, release the launch control button or key, and maintain full throttle, allowing the launch control to change up through the gears until you brake for the first corner.
Releasing the throttle will cancel the launch control so it's very important to stay on full throttle until turn 1. If you need to lose a small amount of speed, you can gently apply a small amount of brake. Do not come off the throttle unless you absolutely have to because on cold tyres these cars will spin very easily; if you do have to come off the throttle, you must be very gentle when you get back on it. |
