The Novices Trophy is intended to provide a competitive championship using the 65 mod. This mod is particularly suited to drivers who are new to GPL but it is also a good choice for drivers who need to learn the intricacies of racing on-line. The final championship positions will be determined after each driver has discarded their worst two results.

Handicapping will be introduced from race three onwards and will only affect the championship leader and drivers within 14 points of the lead. The Championship leader will have to take the BT7 and drivers within seven points of the lead will be limited to the BT7 or Cooper. Drivers within fourteen points of the lead will be restricted to the BT7, Cooper or BRM. Handicapping may be suspended on a race by race basis if the circumstances warrant it.

If Handicapping is in force, handicapped drivers will be notified in the race post.
