The Historic Trophy division is intended to provide a competitive championship for all drivers in the league using the fantastic 66 mod. Experience has shown that the significant differences in power and braking distances between the 3 litre and 2 litre cars mean that it is unusual to have exciting close racing between these 2 variants of the 1966 cars. Consequently the races will either be for 3 litre or 2 litre cars.  

There will be 5 races for 3 litre cars and 5 races for 2 litre cars. The final championship positions will be determined after each driver has discarded their worst two results. The 3 litre and 2 litre cars will be divided into three groups.

The first three races will not be handicapped and after that the top three drivers in the championship will be limited to a slower car. If handicapping is in action then handicapped drivers will be notified in the race post.
