Chief Moderator: Phil Thornton
This season we will run four championships over two race nights. The season will be the conventional length with ten rounds in each championship.
The "blue riband" championship will feature the 1967 Grand Prix Machines. This season we will be running the championship in association with our friends at GPL Brazil. We will be running a "Senior" division for the faster drivers and a "Junior" division for those drivers who enjoy a competitive race but at a slightly slower than world record pace. In order to preserve the character of both leagues we will not be using the usual UKGPL token system. Rather a simpler way of encouraging wider use of the various chassis will be employed which is consistent with the nature of both leagues. There should be enough entries to have two full grids, one for the "Senior" drivers and one for the "Junior" drivers. The "Senior" drivers will not be allowed a reset whereas the "Junior" drivers will be allowed one reset.
The 1955 Grand Prix cars are making a return, most drivers will have competed in two if not three championships with the 55 mod so the lack of effective brakes should come as no surprise. Consequently, the races will be run under PRO rules. The token system will be used again this season. The faster drivers will be assigned to the "Senior" category with the remaining drivers racing in the "Junior" category.
Drivers of all abilities who enjoy the 66mod can enter the 1966 F1 division. The token system will be used again this season. Drivers will have a free choice of 2L or 3L machines. The races will be run under PRO rules. The faster drivers will be assigned to the "Senior" category with the remaining drivers racing in the "Junior" category.
The fourth series will feature the 69 Extra mod. The token system will be used again this season. The faster drivers will be assigned to the "Senior" category with the remaining drivers racing in the "Junior" category.
As ever, drivers are being asked to read the rules, dates and track selection for each division and enter the divisions, they prefer. The objective here is to ensure the drivers are happy with the rules, dates and track selection of their chosen division(s) before committing to the season. The moderators reserve the right to adjust the driver allocation as necessary should there be sufficient entries to justify more than one grid.
Drivers will not be restricted to entering a single division. Drivers can enter as many divisions as they like.
The number of tokens available to each driver in the 66F1, 55GP and 69F1 Extra Championships will be managed outside SRou in dedicated spreadsheets. The tokens available to each driver will be declared in the race announcements.
