Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/), 2.1 patch from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/) and enable terrain patch.
(4) P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function. You may go as fast as you like in the pits, but please exercise caution. Penalties will be handed out for causing contact in the pit lane. Use your best judgement when making your pitstop during the race.

Weather
A weather site will be consulted on the Sunday afternoon before the race and if rain is forecast for the race location then expect a wet weather race. Rain will be set at 80% for heavy rain, 60% for moderate rain and 40% for light rain.

Well you have lost an old one!

I would deem it a great favour if we could refrain from messing about with the lobby we use.

No matter what I type in the LOCAL_IP_LOBBY file it still insits on connecting me to the Beerlobby.

What do I have to do again?

Just a thought but perhaps it's an idea to put the lobby switch in the Announcement to help people who haven't raced recently?

The link next to Problems Connecting to the Lobby? header doesn't work btw (it's pointing to the Simbin site?)

Just returned from a short spell of R&R.

This event is now running and can be found in the Pilsbierbude lobby.

Yes, the "Problems connecting to lobby" is about the Simbin lobby only.

Give me a while and I'll look into removing that.

when you say make sure your IP Lobby.txt has that ip address in it, is that all? Do we delete out the line saying gtr2server...blah blah?

No other text than the ip address given at top of page?

edit:- i get 'login failed, general error'  :( i take it we still use 'internet' from menu? not local network?

Just 91.121.102.7 is correct, and put it in the 'LOCAL_IP_BACKUP_LOBBY' folder as well ... if you've got one

You may have to re-register or/ and or change your name

As above - All that should appear in the IPlobby.txt file is 91.121.102.7
If you havn't used pilsbeerdude server before then you will have to register, you can probably use the same name you did before on the simbin server, don't think they talk to each other  :)

Brands is always enough to drive myself to despair  ???

Completey lost motivation because I wasn't able to manage Paddock Hill Bend
on a proper line. Thought after practice and qualy that I improved a bit but that
seemed to be a deception.

Good turnout this time  :thumbup1:

See you next week.

Will have some fun watching this on saturday:

'Kent Messenger' headline....Local Kent boy comes good and bags 2nd place on the podium ;D

That was a pleasant return after a month+ abstinance of sim racing  :)

Got 2nd on the grid.

Got mugged off the startline for the race and dropped to 3rd or 4th, followed by a gentle nudge up at Druids. But then i got free of the pack and chased down Clive and John who had sprinted off up the road. Took a couple of laps to close on Clive and then had a thrilling 6-8 laps battling to get past him. I could tell i was quicker in a few of the corners but i couldnt get past until Clive did what i did a lap or so earlier and got a little off line heading into Paddock bend. That was my chance and i scooted by.
I gradually built up a decent lead over Clive and Stig, made no errors, and headed home for the chequered flag, finishing 2nd behind the rapid John  8)

Replay and results now posted

NOTE: The replay clearly shows Mark J drove the wrong class of Mustang in this event and has thus been disqualified.

I have at least one more race in the Trans Am, so maybe I can sneak in the top ten. My sponsor DEMAND it  ;)

i think a DQ is a bit harsh  >:( after 5 weeks away and finding a new lobby & IP was being used, i was grateful just to get in. The mustang was there on the car list and i just took it knowing i had used a stang when last i raced in this series. Nobody piped up in practise or qually despite there being only 8 cars present so i had no idea i was in the wrong version of the mustang and would have happily swapped it. Surely the TA isnt supremely better than whatever the other version is anyway?..especially in my hands!
My decent performance here came from keeping it clean without even getting a wheel off and knowing my local track so well, having done umpteen track days on it. At the very least i would still have been duking it out with clive and stig some 15 secs further behind where i finished!

Disapointed  :(

Hard luck Mark.

I enjoyed our battle and since I knew that my only chance of a podium was for one of the two TransAMs to take an early bath, I made it as difficult as I could.

When Stig showed me his nose I did my best to let him through without contact and then settled down to plod out the laps hoping that one of you would bin it.

Over the last few laps I came across the "Tina Turners", Alex and Tony, slogging it out and so hung back so that they could settle it between them.  Grats Tony.

Grats to John and Stig also.

My place at the top of the table will be largely determined by how many flybynights in fast cars appear over the last few rounds.

Thanks Clive. My battle with Alex lasted for the entire race, one way or another. He would pass me and shoot off, I would catch and try to pass. We both made errors and this allowed the other to catch or pass. Made for some interesting laps and the time flew by. Respect to Alex for consistent, clean racing with no contact between us (I think).
Round two at Mallory Alex, hope you can make it.

followed by a gentle nudge up at Druids.
I think that was me, didn't slow as much as I'd expected behind the pack and then to stayed wider than I was expecting  ;D
I stayed behind you as didn't really want to claim the spot through pushing you out of the way - Superswift promptly dived at the opportunity and got us both!

I had a terrible race - decided to gamble on a setup and it really didn't pay off. The car was frankly terrible throughout the race and I just couldn't get any consistancy.
Next time out I'll go back to one of my trusty tail happy setups instead of trying to make something that looks after the rear tires!

Yes, that was a good battle. We both had our strong and weak parts of the track enabling to close up. Race was fierce but fair and the WORKshop reported no major dents  ;D
Last lap I tried to 'manage the gap' like the pro's tend to do but this resulted Tony to get on my back bumper in two corners! So much for racing strategies.. last lap must have been a flying one
Normally I don't 'get' Brands. Corners all seem to be different as the look like so I was expecting lonely race. Actually learned some stuff from the fight so I am happy despite being overtaken in the last corner  :-[

Deserved victory WT.

Round two at Mallory Alex, hope you can make it.
Hope so. Alternating between PnG and Le Mans 50-ies series at the moment. But I am certain me meet again  :fencing:

Much appreciated. Always have to take the lappers into account when fiercely battling for last place.
This enabled to go 'flat out' on the last lap (don't laugh).

Great drive by John, ignoring lap one, he only did two laps that were slower than my best!  And that was only by a sliver!

Hehe, I like Brands ;D Never been in real life though, must see if I can get to one of the BTCC rounds one day.

My place at the top of the table will be largely determined by how many flybynights in fast cars appear over the last few rounds.

All you've got to do is finish on the podium each time and it's yours for the taking. Easier said than done, of course ;)

Completey lost motivation because I wasn't able to manage Paddock Hill Bend

You're not the only one! I was finding it very difficult to judge the turn-in for the whole race - was either too early or too late, felt like I was almost having to park it on the apex to stop going wide.

Will have some fun watching this on saturday:

http://www.roadbook.be/ (http://www.roadbook.be/)

 ;D

You'll love it :) I went last year and had a great time. Ditto what everyone says about how steep Eau Rouge is - I was at sat at the top when a load of cars crashed behind the safety car, couldn't understand why no-one was slowing down until I had a look from the bottom at saw that you can't see anything over the crest and when you're on the way up!

Keep an eye out for the simulator when you're there, there was a guy running rfactor on Spa with one of those motion chair thingies. I had a quick go and was planning on going back in the afternoon for a shot at the top of the leaderboard, but he'd packed up by then  :(

Yeah - it was the best motorsports event ever in my life up to now.
Fine weather, nine GT40, one Corvette Grand Sport (!) - faster than the GT40 and finishing in third -  and lots of Mustangs and Shelby 350's. Great sounds and many many British motorsports enthusiasts.
Eau Rouge and La Source are really the most fascinating places in motorsports!
Love it!

Will post some pics later.
