Have fun :( Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: Clive Loynes on December 09, 2011, 09:34:20 PM +0000 I'm doing my practice on Valencia (Long) as it says in the race list but it isn't 2004. ???
Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: phspok on December 10, 2011, 05:30:30 PM +0000 It is (should be) the long layout of the standard track that comes with the game.
No downloads required is the intention. Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: Clive Loynes on December 10, 2011, 10:31:48 PM +0000 Thanks Matt.
I must say that I'm all at sea with the Daytona. Must be missing a trick somewhere as I can't imagine anyone in their right mind taking it here! Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: phspok on December 11, 2011, 03:35:36 PM +0000 It is a bit lumbering, but my times (such as they were) are almost identical, though the Daytona
will get in the way of the more nimble Elan. The Daytona is "potentially" slightly quicker. Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: Clive Loynes on December 11, 2011, 03:46:34 PM +0000 I figured that even if I managed to get the better of the beast; all that would do would be to get me rammed by the Elans, so I was better off in an Elan!
Would have been nice if they had bothered to fit brakes to the Daytona. Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: phspok on December 12, 2011, 09:05:39 AM +0000 Brakes? nahh who neeeds 'em
Remember one of the Daytonas has no rear wing, and is a bit quicker at Le Mans, but a bit less stable at "Normal" tracks I tested with WIlment Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: Clive Loynes on December 12, 2011, 12:42:42 PM +0000 Brakes? nahh who neeeds 'em Remember one of the Daytonas has no rear wing, and is a bit quicker at Le Mans, but a bit less stable at "Normal" tracks I think mine had a wing. And it's three seconds a lap slower than my Elan. I'm using the Wilment version as you haven't yet said that we can't. Were were you all? had a very close race with the whole field only a few secs apart for most of the race. ::) Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: Clive Loynes on December 15, 2011, 10:20:27 PM +0000 Grats Matt on the win and on keeping that 'orrible 'eap pointing in the right direction (more or less) for the duration of the race.
Not sure what happened to Geoffers on the last lap and I'm not too sure what happened to you after that first stint either. Suddenly you were all over me but I don't know if I was doing something wrong or if you started doing something right. Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: phspok on December 15, 2011, 10:31:09 PM +0000 Geoffers was struggling with brake bias, and I got it together after a few laps so was able to hassle you some, and you started getting
wobbly in places as well which helped. Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: Wiltshire Tony on December 15, 2011, 11:40:11 PM +0000 Such a shame to get a low turnout. But it's late night shopping in most town centres so maybe it has to be expected ???
Probably worth running it again next year? Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: Geoffers on December 16, 2011, 12:55:22 PM +0000 Geoffers was struggling with brake bias, Yeh seemed fine for a few laps in qually & was OK for the first few laps of the race but then I was having a problem with the brakes locking causing a lack of steering, particularly at T2, went off there 3 times. Spun completely on the last lap when the car just went sideways when I put the brakes on. Still was a good close race between the 3 of us! Congrats to Matt on the win, just a shame there weren't more people to beat! ::) Title: Re: UKPnG Season 6 - Valencia (Long) - Dec 15 Post by: phspok on December 17, 2011, 03:22:50 PM +0000 Not sure there will be room next year, but was a good event even with low turn out.
I should probably have banned the willment, as it was, neither CLive nor Geoff used it as Clive reckoned it to be up to 3 secs faster. I am on leave now until new year, so should be able to get some work done on the 3rd series for next year which will be (very) roughly based on some Aussie/NZ historic series. Designed to complement Tony's US V8 and UK Saloon series, we will be running P&G every Thursday as we used to and those 3 series should fill all the thursdays. If there are any free ones we will run a couple of fun events. |
