Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R;group=330;theme=5)

Some cars were missing but not any of the 302's or Beemers.

EDIT: I had a track miss match as I was running V2.02 and not 2.01.

Get the right track here if you have a miss match

Horrible race for me. No practice and concrete walls are not a good mix  ::)

Those 2 hairpins were very difficult in the porka. Taking them in 1st risked a spin every time and having a low enough 2nd gear would have compromised the rest of the lap for me. Enjoyable track though despite this.

Sorry for piling into you Matt, I braked where I usually brake but being off the racing line meant I had no grip and my fronts locked up  :-[

:o :o No practice Just got my Kyalami set up and fueled it. Screen flashing via Tony and Phspok I think you appeared in Cobras to me !!! Got a good start and decided to go down the inside and try my luck and to avoid any late braking incidents on the out side. Came out of T1 in P3 and stayed there for most of the race until Phil closed in  :D My diff felt wrong and the tyre's got hot...Still it was fun sliding the Beamer around.  ;D Ended up P4.

I hate these Micky Mouse tracks with avengance give me the long flowing curves of Goodwood any day. See ya all next time....If nothing else drops of my GTL game.  :)

Replay and results now posted.

Looks like some of you had really close racing.

Love the track and felt I had the Escort setup just right but I was soooo slow.

302 was not the best car for the track, but it was the only one I could do more than two laps in without spinning somewhere
and i got my fastest laps in it during prac, so went with it. Tyres were nearly gone by the end, and it was hard to keep
pointing in the right direction, spun while trying to stay tight to give Hristo room while being lapped.
had some good battles with Ade and GT though both were faster over a lap.

I'm having issues with GTL, so I'll just see if anyone here had similar problems and could help me. In mid-december my primary hdd was failing and I had to re-install windows. My old GTL install was on that hdd, and so I had to make a new  one. And I installed it in time for last real mod race. That's the first time I had trouble, but didn't even know it was a problem at the time. A few laps into the race, my screen went black, sound was kind of stuck for a few second and then computer was completely frozen, and I had to hard reset it. After that I didn't even fire up GTL until this weekend, when I wanted to prepare for this race. That's when I noticed that every time I go on the track, the same thing happens. Somewhere between 30 seconds and 5 minutes, the same black screen-freeze happens.
My OS is Windows 7 64bit, hardware is Phenom II 940, Nvidia GTX 295, 4GB DDRII. I used two of Nvidias regular drivers (I'm not home, not sure of versions, something like 70 and 85 in the name), plus two last beta drivers. I also tried a clean install of RaceRoom's digital GTL copy (it's already version 1.1 and prepared for Win7) with only long beach and driving with ford (stock car). Still same. Anybody else experienced similar problems? Any tweaks suggested?

A lot of people on here will have had similar experiences at some time or another
for various reasons. It used to happen to me half way through a long race
sound stuck in a loop, black screen, sometime it crashes to desktop sometimes
it returns to game and your car has gone straight on.

Mostly it seems to be graphics card overheating. It may run fine in other games
but GTL seems to cook cards more than GTR2 for example.
I took Tudor's advice and (with an ATI card) I run the fan manually at 80% speed
and I've had no trouble since. Not conclusive, but people seem to get the trouble
more with Nvidia than ATI, but neither are immune.
Get Rivatuner for Nvidia, or use the ATI control panel and set fan speed high
I leave the side off my PC case these days as well. Have a look at the fan
on the Graphics card, and check that it is actually going round, and it's not
full of potatoes.

Everything Matt says but perhaps also try with your in-game graphics turned down a tad, perhaps reduce shadows a bit.

When I get home, I'll try to underclock the card a bit, and set fans on fixed rotation before going into GTL.
Thing is, that's still one of the fastest cards on the market (it's actually two cards packaged as one), and I can play Skyrim on high settings for hours without problems.

Most of my graphics issue came from running GTL shadows set to Medium or High. Once I lowered those down, everything's been running fine. It's just an old engine which is not optimized for modern hardware, so you can't really compare to modern games. Plus newer DirectX (10-11) is not 100% compatible with 7-8-9 as Microsoft claims it to be.

Mark try them from here https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358 don't forget the season 10 GGT skins as well  , think that was my problem at Kyalami the other week when i couldn't load Navin this week i couldn't load Tony or Matt so think that's your problem.

Doesn't have to be low Syd, just one click down from whatever it's set at, at the moment.

I also found that a dedicated sound card stopped those horrible screechy crashes.

Last night I had some trouble with multicoloured pixels which I now attribute to heat, so cooling or lowering graphic settings would have helped me with that.

Look at post #8 here Syd and this might help out just a bit ;).
http://www.gt-legends.dk/GTLDK/showthread.php?45-GTL-Tweaks-Tuning-Tips-amp-Tools
I have a very old system that is GTL challenged at times. As Matt and Goldtop have said I do think that heat can be an issue with GTL as well. During a race I always use to get a loss of frame rate around the halfway to 3/4 point until I put a high quality copper heat sink fan combo on my graphics card. Never had the problem after the new heat sink :).

Well, I was trying one thing at a time, and GTL was still crashing. So I tried it all at once, underclocked the card, set fan to 80%, set settings to low, shadows to off and plr settings to those that Navin pointed me to. An I was able to do 12 laps at Lime Rock before stopping on my own. So it seems problem is somewhere in there, and now I'll experiment with setting to see how much more performance I can get back.
Thanks to all for the help.

I had a similar problem to this some months ago. Make sure your power setting is set to high performance in Win 7. With my PC it seemed to go into sleep / power saving mode ignoring the fact that GTL was running. Hope this helps I know how frustrating it can be.  ::)
