Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk SCC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R;group=331;theme=5)

Special Notes: None

Hey guys just to let you know I will be here for this race. If I am welcome. I have to admit I do like the Cobras although I am a wee bit confused by the car restrictions. What are the ranks and how I do I determine mine?

Happy to have you join us mate. As a new driver to the series (e.g. no championship position to determine car choice) you have a free choice of any car.

Not sure I'll be able to make this one. We had a storm here yesterday morning which managed to hit the phone line, taking out not only our router but the network adapter on my motherboard as well. I've got a new one coming but there's no guarantee it'll be here by then. I'm on Wi-Fi until then and there's way too much latency on it to be able to race. :-\

Chears. I had to format yesterday and as long as I remember the trick to get GTL running then I'll be there.

Well it's running so your looking at the wrong lobby. Your probably looking at he Simbin Lobby. Haven't we been through all this with you before?

Here's the unlock everything link http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=788

Suggest you retrace your tracks through past posts cos the advice will be the same now as it was then.

I will keep trying and searching other forums but can't promise anything. I will see you when I get it sorted.

I did look for that but I don't think you can change it in GTL until you are starting a race series or something. There is definitely something I'm forgetting but can't for the life of me figure it out.

Shame about Hristo's crash. He almost missed Tibs. But how I missed Tibs was miraculous. He flew over the top of my car and I was sure he was going to take me out.

No problem, Tib. For some reason my car went into reverse instead of 1st gear on the start, then I stalled it twice and lost a lot of ground. Tried to make up for it, but it all ended on the exit of Eau Rouge. I could have probably continued, but I wasn't into driving alone for 9 more laps.

As I mentioned this was one of my favorite GPL tracks. I remember doing sub 3.15 laps in the eagle here. Best I got with the cobra was a low 52. The moment I logged into the server, and saw there were no other 427s, except for tibs, I knew it was going to be a race against the clock, and I had to keep my concentration up. I again had a bad start, and fell down to 4th place going into Eau Rouge. But I was patient, I new I had the speed on the straights, and picked up positions, 3rd on the run down to Les Combes, 2nd at Burneville, and took the lead on the Masta straight. After that I managed to stay on the track safely. Went a bit deep a couple of times at Stavelot, and had a close call on the last lap at La Cariere 2, when I went onto the banking.
Grats to Navin and Mark for the podium.

What a treat this track is. Like Syd this has been a favorite of mine since the very beginnings of Sim racing. Finally got some proper practice time in last week and it paid off as I ..... what the.... pause.... A dog just walked into my house..... OK, my new neighbors dog just walked into my house. Cool little Terrier mix was smart enough to come to my house and not run into the street  ;D. Got him back to his home so all is well ;). As I said it paid off as I got dialed into the track and my usual Cobra set seemed to be perfect for Spa. The race was even better as for the first time this year in this series I was able to get into full Robot mode and run consistant laps. Would of been nice to seen a few more 427's so Syd could of had someone to play with. I for one welcome any new players or otherwise to drive the top cars. The top points drivers in the championship will still be fighting among themselves so unlike another series you wont find me complaining about part time drivers or new drivers in this series. I would just ask of one thing that I would always do myself. To respect the drivers running in the top champ spots and maybe race them even cleaner than normal. Thanks to all that participated and big congrats to Syd for the win and to Mark for another solid pody :).

If Race department are on it that's the Simbin lobby.

Trawl the Simbin forum. Under GTL there's a large thread about using the Simbin digital GTL to access the Altbierbude lobby. You may well spot the thing that still needs doing.

:) Qualified P3 on a 4.01........But an age away from Navin on his 3.58! in P2 :o I demand to see your set up.  ;D Syd was driving his own race in the 487 in P1.

Matt was in P4 but got the jump on me at the start. While Syd dropped back with wall issues!!  ;D

Tony was very racie on lap one and I thought it might be a 3 way battle between Matt, Tony and I.

I think Tony had a barrier moment mid lap and I started to draft Matt in his bright yellow Cobra.  ;D

This cracking battle between us was destined to go on for 6 fantastic laps.  :) :)

You would not believe the difference between two car set ups and driving styles.  :)

On certain parts of the track Matt was quicker and watching the replay his car seems much tighter and more together.  8)

But I found I could out brake him most of the time!  ;)

My car also seemed to have more top speed on the straights probably because the tyres were at max-pressure and the gear ratios were set for top speed and rarely red lined  ;D ;D Unfortunately the game ended when Matt had a bank/ barrier mishap around lap 6. :( Still it was great while it lasted Matt.....Many thanks.  ;)

Finished in P3 and found Syd and Navin already in the bar when I finished.  ::) ::)
I do like this track but I always doze off forget which corner I am approaching and have an almighty off. So thanks for keeping me focused Matt......Great race guys.  :) :)

Business as usual  ended up in last place, could register my usual PB in lap 8,
but crashed in lap 9 and had to slow down in order to see the finish line.
Great track, fun to drive.

Wot Mark said.
I seemed slightly quicker in the race over a lap, even when I dropped back out of the tow, I could gain a small street
through Stavelot after Masta, and sometimes a bit through Masta kink. Mark was mostly a bit quicker through Eau Rouge
and the section before Burneville, I dropped back a couple of times when our different lines/braking would have made contact
but kept creeping back up behind until I got lazy and allowed the car to drift too far left after Stavelot and put a wheel on
the dirt causing a spin. Was, as Mark said extreeeem fun driving a few feet apart and sometimes side by side with occasional
passes at different places. Not sure who's conn it was, but I was keeping wide at times because I was seeing quite a bit
of warping for a while, didn;t really spoil the fun though  ;D
My setup was a modified version  of H's setup for the FIA at Virginia.
