is not too complex after a few laps, a couple of the tight rights look similar but it comes with a little practice
The uphill left hairpin is a hoot if you can get the back powersliding  ;D#

The next one will also be new, but is much easier to learn.

EDIT:  This event is out of sequence for the series, as Tony will be in Brixton for this one, and wanted to
swap so he would be out of "Her Majesties Pleasure" for his birthday event the following week.

Hands up everyone who shot straight into the pits at the end of their first sighting lap.  :whistling:

Close call on the second lap too!

This is an interesting and technically challenging track. First half feels like a hillclimb event !
Took me 6 laps before i managed a clean one ! and that corner at the pitlane entrance is very misleading.

Low 1:52's race fuel online praccy for me so far in the Jaguar   :)

Seems quite narrow.

The wide Jag should be able to keep Matt bottled up.   ;D

Hooray i finished 3rd  :) ...boooo, there were only 7 attendees  :(

Qualied 4th, finished on the podium. The only positives from a dull race for me as i literally didnt see another car after 5 laps for the rest of the race. It became a 40 min solo hotlap and concentration kept wandering later on so took a few offs on the grass without any spins.

Where was everybody? Thought attendances had picked up recently then we are back down to 7  ??? Dont this antipodean series is proving as popular as the Brit TC and NAC series.

Well done John and Clive up front. Kept within 3 secs for 5 laps then lost them !

Results and Replay Posted

Poor turnout as MJ says. Next race will be Melbourne now. Where I was intending to be next will be the race after that now.
Any suggestions for 2 or 3 well matched cars? preferably something quite fast, like 275 Speciale maybe RSR
if they are close? Cobras? Daytona? Big Yank Iron/plastic? that sort of thing. I am going to be stuck for testing time these
next couple of weeks, London end of next week ,and most of the week after. Any help would be appreciated.

Firstly many thanks to John for supplying me with a TT lap in the mid-46s that led me to spending Wednesday evening pounding around in TT mode in vain attempts to keep him within striking distance.  My best was a 47.8 but I doubt if I will ever manage another like it.

Normally at the start of these races I am more intent on not knocking John off than racing him, so that he can set about whichever visiting alien we have on the grid for the good of the team.

On this occasion I found myself to be the only other car to be within five seconds of him and so I decided that it was probably time to get a bit stroppy off the line.

The Jag grunt kept me in touch up the hill and when John couldn’t see me at the sharp right at the top I was able to take the lead.  Apologies for offering you the grass at that point John but I didn’t get the turn-in that I was expecting.

Having chassed John for hours in TT mode I knew that he was very quick through the two right handers that followed the mini-corkscrew section but to my delight I found that the Jag had a bit more top end than John’s Ferrari and I was able to stay in front and was even happier when I actually braked and turned in to that evil left that followed it without being passed.

Things were looking good and I could see that John was struggling with getting the power down after struggling not to hit me in the corners.  I seemed to be quick onto the start-finish straight as well.

Thing went well for about sixteen of the twenty three laps before I put a wheel on the grass and John passed.  I waved, with my lights, expecting that he would then vanish at about two seconds a lap.

But he didn’t.  I certainly had my chin on the tank and was able to keep hold of him.  Can’t explain it.

Then he made an error and I was back in front!

I think that I started the last lap in the lead but an error at those right handers where John was so quick let him back through to take the win by 0.6 seconds.

Probably my best PnG race to date.

Grats to John and apologies for getting in your way.

Grats also to Mark for his 3rd place.

Good fun last night :) Clive was looking racy off the line and through T1 and had got his nose inside on the way into T2. I didn't think he was going to back down so I went the long way round and dropped in behind. I then spent the next two-thirds of the race having fun chasing Clive and planning where I might be able to make a pass on this narrow, twisty track.

It was interesting to see where the strengths and weaknesses were for these two cars. As Clive said, I was able to go through the two right-handers faster and had been sizing up a pass there for a good few laps when he went slightly wide and I was through.

Thought I'd better not take too many risks afterwards - It is possible to go very fast on this track, but at great risk. The TT I'd sent to Clive was a very good lap, but to make even a small mistake can be potentially race-ending.

All was going well until I dropped a wheel on the grass at the end of the penultimate lap and Clive regained the lead. Luckily I didn't lose too much time and was able to make that pass I'd been planning after all!

Good racing under pressure, Clive. Grats to Mark for the final poduim spot  :thumbup1:

Unofficial LapChart (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/PnG/BurMar12/)

Nice race (first one with Playseat). Great fight with Eifel.

Turnout is a bummer. Heard from teamie soccer UEFA was on telly. Perhaps one of the reasons?

Probably already considered but is teaming up with other league an idea? We already have connections with GTLDK I believe and we can drive different classes or something.
It's a thing they do in real racing also (Euro GT4 / Dutch GT4, Formula Ford, ALMS..)

Just thinking aloud without any league organising knowledge  ::)

Thanks for the Lap Chart Alex and I hope that your back appreciated the playseat.

Tony mailed a couple of other leagues, and the reply was more or less
"we are ok thanks" Tony also created a poll for what night people wanted
and as far as I know most wanted to keep Thursday for UKP&G

Being as we already have members from GTLDK who regularly run with us
who is it that runs the leagues there? we could join up perhaps
for one night in the week at least?

Matt, unfortunately there's not much appetite for P&G at GTLDK

PS Could we have a single spec 906 event at Albert Park?

Acvtualy a good battle could be between the Shelby Daytona Coupe -v- Shelby Cobra 289 Sebring Roadster

Found the Playseat more comfortable than my old rickety deskchair  :) (but I have to say this after spending a heap of money on a bunch of metal tubes with a chair on top of it  ;) )

Figured you already tried that. Pity you didn't get any positive response. I would have expect that some smaller leagues would also have liked to expend their grids..
If you want something translated in dutch then plz give a shout. It's the best I can offer  :-\

906 event sounds good. I can remember a GTL race with 906's at Melbourne. Circuit has a nice flow for these cars.
Shelby's are always nice...

I noticed that there was a GC-NG-Wsomething server running on Thursday evening.  Is that an event or just practice?

Thanks for responses.
I had just settled on Melbourne for a Ferrari vPorche event.
I did want a 906 event somewhere though. I will toss a coin.

That might have been the GC-NG-WNR (Wednesday Night Racing) server left up from the day before. The series runs mixed GTL/P&G events on Sun & Wed.
