I'll put my usual pratice room up about 7pm. Name is UKGTR plz select ISDN and password is usual uk*****ac .. 1m25.8 is my PB so wonder if I can find 0.5 for a new lap record currently held by Mark Harrison [no where to be seen these days!!]. I doubt it cause my F550 doesn't go round those cambered turns to well!!

Catch you later..

We still run on 1.4 I'm afraid so you'll need 1.4 to connect.

1.5 does nothing but remove server features and not fix anything so we're not using it.

F**king Game!!!! Span off @ second corner first lap, couldn't get any traction and then when I did I had to go right to rejoin. Game decided to put me down by 1 Lap, I was passing people that according to the game were a lap ahead of me. Decided I was fighting a losing battle and quit. shark could you have a look into this for me

Wow what a tough ( but enjoyeable)  race.
Congrats to JonM - cmon man we've been waiting years for you to make a mistake and let us past  ;)
Seriously good pace though - myself and Rich had it tough trying to stay with you in the 550s.

Had an early scrap with Greg for 3rd and I just nipped past into Gislaved when Greg had a bit of wheel spin at the previous corner.
I found it really hard to catch Rich and Jon without cooking the tyres but slowly I was gaining until in the end I took too much kerb into Gislaved and spun, which dropped me back 15 secs.
Rich then had his spin and I inherited 2nd place - hard luck Rich (thats twice in two days!)

I really like this track and its one of the few that seem to suit the f550.

Very unspectacular 10thish in qualify, kept up with Tyf and TT for a few laps, then had a minor off and scrabbled back on track before Enz caught up. After that it was fighting all the time, first with Enz till he fell off, then an epic battle with M Jonzo. I don't think I had any grip round the banking leaving me way open down the runway, I'm sure M Jonzo got his nose past mine a few times but I just broke as late as I dared and turned in somehow I pulled it off every time :-) Got to 2:45 on the clock then the back end just went in T1, it was still driveable afterward but the car changed all its characteristics in an instant, scrabbled back on track with two places lost and drove as quick as I dared for the last few laps, catching the guy infront pretty quickly, but just not enough time, came back in a 10th in the end.

Gutted about the result, but I'm hardly going to be challenging for the sprint championship and I had a great race, so I'm not too pissed off.

Thanks guys

Fozz

Didn't think I'd put the times I did in qually, Hadn't had any practice for this one up until 30mins before start on race so was well pleased with equalling PB ;D
Just took it easy in race and tried to conserve tyres...It worked ;) Dunno what happened to Rich, he was keeping the gap down all throughout the race and then must of had an off right near the end, Unlucky mate  :( Might be my last GT sprint race this season as I should be moving house shortly, got to cancel broadband this week :( Maybe those GTL challenges will come in handy after all ;) Hopefully we'll be moved in about 3 weeks so I'll probably be busy until then.  That might leave someone just enough time to snatch the championship ;) Nice race all  ;D

Thanks for the host Picnic ;)

oh lordy, sorry Picnic i wasnt having a dig, i was just asking in case it was my connection not seeing the game in lobby....i'm gonna get me coat :(

Great race tonight, really enjoyed myself.

Qualied 8th which i was reasonably pleased with despite being a second+ off my PB, keeping tight with Aagramm who was on the same 1000th of a second until late in session. 8)

Race started good, dicing with aagram and looking forward to a close race with him and Tyf behind me, swapping places on the first lap a couple of times, then had annoying slow speed spin on cold front meds and dropped to about 13th...D'oh!

Got back racing and screamed past a few cars until i got upto 9th behind Fozz, then had one of my most enjoyable nose to tail battles in GTR for about 30 minutes of the race glued to Fozz's rear bumper, always being within 0.3 to 0.5 of a second of him and often alongside or nose in front down the straight. Excellent stuff and Edza was lurking within a sec too until he span off.
Eventually i lost the front end grip coming out of turn 3 and he was allowed to gallop away and i lost a place to Flybri. But still pushed hard and got back past the pair of them as they both individually lost it (on worn tyres i think) near the end and i brought it home in 8th or 9th.
Great fun...that was a scream Fozz, i dont know how you withstood that pressure for all those laps, i was sure you would make a mistake. And i nearly hit your rear more than once in the braking zones...phew, cant wait to watch the replay. My car seemed quicker than you but i just couldnt find a way past and you out-ballsed me a few times braking into turn 1 at the end of the runway straight :P
Excellent.

ps well done to JonM who had his spaceship well tuned this eve  ;)

Managed to fluke a resonable qual time which put me in 3rd.
Had to conced to Mo as he was way faster in the race and decide my best bet was to concentrate on preserving 4th and not to cook the tyres.
All went well untill TrueTom caught me, we then had an almighty battle which all went a bit pear shaped at the final corner of the last lap costing us both a place.
Oh well thats racing, gutted to loose 4th but there we go.
Good stuff Tom just a pitty about the final outcome.

Good stuff peeps,

Not playing GTR a lot anymore, so was pleased to be in 9th or so after quali. Not a lot of people around unfortunately, which really showed for me in the race!  :-[
Managed to remember we did a pace lap first ;) and ended up chasing Mark, who was very likely scared by my very ugly racing color beak so he spun giving himself an excuse to let me past and look at my nice Penguin ass! LOL!
TrueTom prolly had similar reasons for a spin, although he can always ask for private pics in our 'private' forum! ;P
Anyways, I overtook him as well, but noticed he was a likkly quicker through the corners, on the straight and during breaking... Pretty much everywhere actually, so I let him off and moved over!  :-* :-* :-*
After that it was quite, well, boring, lol. I seemed to be the balance the server was running on...7 Secs gap in front and 7 secs in the back. If 1 moved up, so did the other! Haha! 15 secs front and back, then 20 or so, slight mistake, 15 again, hehe! Ah well, ended up 6th I think cause of someone (I think TrueTom) leaving before end? Else I was 7th, throughout most of the race :D

T

P.S. Mark, I think you misread Picnic's reply, hehe. I know I did 1st time ;)

Great race, my car wasn't quite right.. !! F550 is still a mystery to me lol.

Hey Jon didn't you move only a few months ago, or maybe that was someone else? Don't know.. well hope the move isn't too stressful for ya, hope it's somewhere nice.

Very good race though.. super new record pole time 1m24.9 !! Outstanding.  :) Was a good start although I saw some carnage in my mirror into T2 lap 1!! Had some dirty laps chasing leader and F550 holding ground behind me until suddenly it disappeared, which made me relax a little and I kept saying just keep it cool but some how I braked too late into T4 and camber/marbles pulled me over into tyre wall. Recovered in 3rd but I thought it was more like 6th cause I rejoined behind you Fozz in that nice Lambo.

Great stuff.  ;D

Good race for me, Anderstorp continues to treat me kindly, whether it's GTR or GTL. Qualified 7th, just pipping Mark towards the end. For a long time we had identical times down to the nearest 1000th. The outlappers did a very good job of giving me room when I was on a hot lap. Remember Fozz pulling over a couple times and a couple other drivers making room in tight mid-corner situations, so thanks for that, much appreciated.

A lap or two in I took too much kerb at T3 and lost momentum, allowing Mark to pass me on the straight. I then somehow managed to re-pass Mark under braking at the next corner by accident. I was busy looking in my mirror trying to decide if I needed to let the next car past, missed my normal braking point completely, flukily got the trail-braking perfect and turned smoothly into the corner like the car was on rails. I was past before I realised what happened, talk about dozy. Lukily I think it was a clean move in the end, but I'll be looking at the replay closely. Hope I didn't give you a scare Mark, in my head I'd already conceded the position!

Had a fairly quiet race after that. A recovering TrueTom caught and passed me fairly easily after a brief battle. I couldn't keep up with the fast guys, who zoomed away from me like they were in GT40s  8), but steadily pulled away from the rest of the field. Met one back-marker, who also did a good job of letting me by, thanks again. Was running a comfortable 6th and lapping very consistantly, but when I got to the last corner of the last lap found two cars in the gravel ahead of me, giving me an undeserved 4th place, which equals my best ever GTR finish.

Another fine win to Jon, hope Mo kept you honest at the front.

Thanks for letting me pass, Tyf.  ;) Was a bit nervous, the guys in front were running away. My mistake was late braking with cold tyres and brakes.  :-\

Nice little battle with Aagramn, couldn't quite pass you until you made a lousy exit to the big straight.

Long, exhaustive duel with Greg. I was a bit faster, but not enough to pass. F550 has great power and on the breaking its ass just gets bigger, too big to pass by safely. So I tried unsafe and BLEW IT!  :-[ Sorry Greg. I let you pass, it was my fault and I promised never to do it again.

When your tyres started to go I tried to outbreak you, make a run on you, press you into a mistake, opening at every breaking. NOTHING WORKED!  :o So, it was a last lap, do it or die! Came a bit too fast out of that long right hander, I expected you to block on the left, but not that soon. And I BLEW IT AGAIN. Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry!  :'(

Aagramn went by before we recovered and well, ...

P.S. It may have contributed, though it's not a proper excuse, that a late visitor came to the house and I wanted to finish the bloody race - my wife was really pi**ed, having to entertain him for almost 10 minutes alone, while I was playing. How could a guy be married AND free at the same time?  ;D

went into this race with the aim not to be lapped twice which i manage by 200 yards, I'm happy with that. Front runners setting a pace i could only dream of. being in the 911gt2 i got a little nervous when 3rd place Ferrari slipstreamed down the straight was praying he make a move before braking zone which he did. Having  the tyre warning going from lap 16 meant i was wondering allover the place on the brakes. managed to keep a 6 sec gap person in front of me until he spun leaving me with a 54 sec gap to fozz to make up, was never going to make that up so opted to back it off and bring it home. Good race by all

I think it was a 911 GT2 Fozz, not a bi-turbo. The GT2 is part of our GT class.
