Track: Silverstone 1970's GP Circuit Download this (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358.msg109873#post_silverstone70)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk FIFT
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=358&theme=5)
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: This event is started by a flagman on the right hand side of the circuit. Recommend turning the start countdown on.

Sorry guys, I would like to join this race, and downloaded every car and Silverstone track, but I see your server was set on Anderstorp, then you switched to Imola, then you started the race.
So... I gave up...

Geez that's too bad mate. I was sat on my own waiting for drivers to arrive. With 15Min's to go before the race I thought I'd quit. Then I wondered if everyone was joining another "version" of the race. Sure enough Syd, Pelle and Eifel were doing a qually session elsewhere  ::)

Don't know what you were seeing but something pretty odd was going on. Please try to join us again in two weeks time. We had great fun tonight and the cars are wonderfull.

Finally a podium  :eek: ;D ::)  ;)  :wheelchair: :scooter:

Despite low turnout a funny one. New pb for sure and I really love the Maserati 4,5L.

However since I had to reinstall my PC I face a phenomenon which I'm still unable to solve:
once in every race my engine rev suddenly and causelessly goes down and it looks like
I would have to quit. When I change to idle rev increases to maximum uncontrollably???
I have to go to the task manager and go back to the game and all is ok - but that costs
me about 20 to 30 seconds and includes an automatic last place  :(.
I assume that I have to reinstall my G25 to solve this issue but I'm not sure.

After this issue happened yesterday for one more time I tried to chase Tony and was on my
way to another pb when I crashed and he finally was away for good.
So I decided to finish in a more secure mood  :D

Hope to see more guys again in the next races with this fantastic cars.

Don't worry Tony :)
I don't know if it was due to a bad installion af car/track, but the problem is that in lobby, I saw your server was set before on Anderstorp and than on Imola, instead of Silverstone. Did you race in Silverstone 88 yesterday? I cannot imagine what was wrong with my GTL installation, but I only want to know if you were racing in Silverstone, cause when the race started in lobby I saw "simracing.org.FIFT" (or something similar), and the track was Imola. Very strange, cause even if I had Imola and Silverstone 88 installed on GTL, the game said "Track not installed".

No we were running 1970's Silverstone. If you don't have that installed you would have seen odd track names in the lobby.

Shame that we had such a small grid for our first "proper" Fifties race but it was great fun all the same. Nice mix of cars on the grid too. Had some nice battles with Kurt whilst Syd and Pelle had their own duel up the road abit. Syd had a disco and I thought we'd lost Kurt too but he turned up a few mins after Pelle and I had slowed to figure out what to do next.
I like the handling of these cars. You need to be extremely cautious with the throttle pedal as too much power too soon will cause the back end to whip out and suprise you. However you soon get the knack. The sounds of the various engines are stunning. You can hear your oppponent approaching you to overtake! The throttle off sound from the Ferrari is like someone shaking a steel bucket full of pebbles.
Hope we get more drivers at our next race at Oulton Park.

PS And Pelle...........your banned!  ;)

I'm having some problems with my router. It freezes from time to time, and that's what put me out of the race last night. I'm looking into it, I'll try firmware upgrade before resorting to replacing it.
I have to say the car felt fantastic, kind of reminded of GPL cars, where you need to have some throttle on while braking and releasing brakes or the ends will swap. Or on exit when you floor it, you need to counter steer to get out of the corner. I think I'll be a regular in this championship from now on.

If these races are permanently moved to Tuesday then I'm afraid I won't be able to make any due to a conflict with UKGPL divisions.

Understood.

The matter was that if you click on the track download link in the first post, the first track is Silverstone 88 and not the 70 version. I downloaded the wrong track :(

Hope to see you for the next :)

Yes Sry...but came too late on the server & knew I had setup from Monza...otherwise I would of course shift to a slower car  :D
Maserati 5.7 is fun (perhaps the most because it is fast) until you hit the brakes & discovers almost nothing happens.
@Syd Drake: I think you are absolutely right...you have a huge advantage if you run GPL.  8) Too bad you have problems with router & Manteos got installed wrong track...there was room for many more at Silverstone. One tip in the Lobby: If you don't see the track we must run, you can be sure...the track is not installed.  ;)

Grats for all of us on the podium...hehe, 2 out of 3 from TEAM-GTLDK  :thumbup2:

& ohh...SRY NRJ, but you have chosen to go to Hawaii...it changed little in the score  :P
