actual this must do to come to old lobby....

actual you come with this to lobby...

How to connect to lobby while down

Hello everyone,

We realize the GTR2 lobby server is down. Looks like the domain name was not renewed and has expired.

To connect to the lobby do the following:

Go into your main GTR2 directory

Find LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT

Copy and replace following:

81.3.59.239
#gtr2server1.gtr-evolution.com

but make a copy of old LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT, perhaps you need it again.

the orginal lobby is back...

Nice. :)

This LMP2 race will take place as planned and the LE Sakhir race will be rescheduled for the 13th May. The Nurburgring GP races will take place on the planned dates.

The server is now up and running Sakhir with LMP2 cars.

What times will the back end of the grid be doing?

Not sure if I can make it yet but I have pinched Manteos' Spyder and have been doing some laps when I have the odd moment.

I'll be at the back Clive, I've posted a 1:50.16 or something close.....You'll probably see that off easily.   ;D

There's  a mistake in the text spanner. The right one is this: gtr2server1.gtr-evolution.com

Nope!  1:51.7 on-line last night but then I don't have a clue what I'm doing with wings, ratios or these tyres.

Oh, and I think that you will need a button to start the engine as well.

Can someone confirm that XD doesn't let you set what you want doing in the pit stop whilst driving in GTR2? Or do I need to reinstall it?

I can confirm that XD does it, like in P&G Clive ;)

As in P&G you can change the XD screen pressing the button "\" on your keyboard, and you will see the pit list that allow you to change tyre pressure for each tyre, refueling and  the options to change or not your tyres :)

This is the DL link of the latest version of the XD: => http://www.vitumo.de/files/XD/XD.zip (http://www.vitumo.de/files/XD/XD.zip)

No training at all for me yet, I hope to have some minutes to prepare a decent setup tonight and then I will put it online :)

See you :)

Thanks Manteos.

When I press the "/" I get the blank version and pressing it again puts it back to the normal tyre display.

I shall investigate.

PS I shall look forward to your setup.

Splitter 3, wing 12 (I think), Diff power 5, diff coast 0

High 1.47 is my best so far. I am expecting a race pace of 1.48 at the moment.

I believe increasing the value for ''speed sensitive steering" in the GTR2 in game controller options can help a bit with the LMP2 cars. I have it set to zero my self. Its unrealistic. ;)

Here is a reminder of some of the tips for using LMP2s that I mentioned in the thread for UE Round 1:
- Very precise and minimal steering input (turn the wheel as little as possible especially at high speed).
- Using paddle shift will help a lot.
- Try all 3 of the cars in case you find one of them suits you more.

Having read the rolling start regs yet again, I'm sure they are saying that the start should be single file but in all the starts that I have seen everybody reverts to the original formation.

Any guidance?

The formation lap is in single file and when the car in front engages its limiter:-
"Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front and also engage their limiter."

Chears hal. I'm kinda struggling here lol I managed to get 1.55 once but consistently around 2.02ish

Down to 1.51-1.52 now consistently Chears hal. Tweeked the rear wing up to 3 and break bias to 54-46 for the Hockenheim setup and works a treat :-) I really need to learn how to set up the cars lol.

I don't think I will be racing tonight guys. It wont let me on the server when someone else is in. It just says "booted as possible cheat" I have tried 5 different installs including a new one that was standard.

@TT.

Did you change the LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT file back to normal??

Nice race. :)

I was having fun in the first half of the race while chasing TT. I could see that I was no match for Matteo and so decided to take my time looking for a good pass on TT. There was a couple of braking point that I was thinking about having a go at passing on when TT made a mistake and I was past. It looked like you had a few close calls at that corner TT. TT then crashed out of the race I believe soon after. Unlucky TT. That was a shame.

I tried not to let the gap between me and Matteo get any bigger but, it did. ;D 50 seconds by the end of the race. Very fast.

Well done Matteo, well deserved. Well done Clive for 3rd place as well.

Thanks for racing all, I had fun. See you at the next one. :)

Thanks H@L and apologies to someone for the start.  I almost managed a rolling start but I shall have to take a look at my replay to see what happened.  I hit the Limiter button but went nowhere and the poor bloke behind shovelled me off the track.  I think that I must have been in 1st instead of 2nd.

After that I had some fun chasing and fighting with SRW and then trying to close on the two cars in front.  Nsfast and APEX’.

I had put a full tank in to start and a 40 ltr top up for the stop.  I had intended doing my stop on lap 24 but wasn’t sure that the 40 ltr would get me to the end.  I had several iffy laps as I tried to do some mental arithmetic.

I came out of the pits just behind APEX’ so I must have gained some in the pit stops.  I kept my Medium slicks on to the end.

Great race with APEX’ and then tried to keep it on the grey bit to the end.

Commiserations to Spanner, who I think that I saw, stuck on the start/finish line.

Grats to Manteos and H@L

Lol thanks for that bum stear! So i thought you had to run low wing at this track and was not happy with the car at all on 8 wing, thankfully H@L says he was running 13! so had to reverse everything i'd done but didnt  seem to be that different with the times, though i could brake lot later and carry more speed though the corners.

Couldnt believe how much faster you can go taking the fuel out for qually! But knew i had the pace to get infront of nsfast and twice i was up but messed up the last corner and the one before, watching the time split! lol

Bit of a lonely race, what i had of it, shadowed nsfast for most of the first half until he fell of, never quite getting close enough, watched the gap behind to Apex and then to nsfast.

But my once rock solid dsl is now pretty flakey since the exchange got upgraded last month so yet again, another race is ruined.  >:(

Started half heartedly anyways as I was almost sure I won't have time to finish the race... I would probably be more careful otherwise, H@l. Seems like your car was faster on straight but too much and I might be able to keep you behind. Well... I hope I'll have enough time for the next race. :)

Tried some laps with the two other cars but I can't drive them on the edge, not safely. I feel it's either  Lola  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ixqbc7X2NQY)or nothing. :P

A bit lonely race for me, but at least I could try a different strategy this time.
I tried in qualif with 40 litres and soft front/rear tyres, just to see the pace in this configuration. The pace was good, but I strongly guess that my final race time would have been slightly better without changing tyres in this race. The tyre wear was not so high in this track, and I could push a lot even cause I feel quite safe with the car. Evenmore I like this track, and the race of the previous week surely helped a lot, even if I did no training with the proto before the race, and spent about 20 mins before the race to do some laps in row in race trim with the setup I used at Spa, changing only the gear ratio and rear camber.

I escaped by the rest of the group during the first laps, and kept a really good pace for the rest of the race, with only a couple of mistakes during the 39 laps of the race. Then I refueled up to 50 litres, cause I forgot to change my fuel strategy after Spa ::), and i did the last 13 laps in qualif mode, pushing a lot to have a comparison with the no change strategy. However the difference is very thin, and I will choose the strategy during the race for the next races, cause it strongly depends on the gap by the other drivers.
Grats to H@l and Clive for the podium, and to all the drivers at the finish line.

I will upload again my setup, if someone want to try it. I hope it will fit even for the Nurburgring track... who knows ::)

Avoided the little dance moves in the straight ahead of me at the start....and all went reasonably well til the pitstop. I hit the ESC key by accident, not concentrating.....game over.
Ah well...next time.

Bad luck Geoff, pit stops are always the worst part as you dont tend to do many of them, and your always in a hurry to get through it!
