This post is for both the Light Brigade & the Heavy Brigade Spec Races.

Round nine & having given the winged beasties run out it’s time to return to the 65 Mod, which may be welcome at the Bathurst / Mount Panorama circuit in Australia. As we are down under we’ll be using one of Sir Jack’s early creations, the Brabham BT7.

ONE IMPORTANT CHANGE. Attendances have trailed off a little so both Divisions will run on the same track, although you will only be competing for points against drivers in your division.

After 5 rounds in the 69X, Art is back on top of the  Light  Brigade with a third win, followed by Evil & Ron C. In the Heavy Brigade, Hendy blitzed everyone for pace at Interlagos but still trails Jonny O in the Championship
  
The Championship table will be updated before the end of the season to include the first 3 rounds.

Unlimited resets are allowed but every Shift R must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane. If you Reset on the last lap a 30 second time penalty will be awarded.
Incidents should be reported in the usual way.
In line with other divisions the races will be subject to full moderation  in the red zone  – which will be to the exit of The Dipper.

The server will start no later than 9pm with a minimum of 30 minutes qualification, please all join UKGPL8.

I made a new install with an english version of GPL, to get the export file in english.
But I have no idea yet how to import one race in two groups...

I hope that the problems we had in easter cup with Bathurst won't happen again!
I will set all to savest mode ;)

I know someone who has a good BT7 setup for Bathurst, and I'll bet Juha is licking his lips....... ::)

Sergio - you are more than welcome. You will need to register / vote in one of the divsions. Lights for the faster & Heavys for those not so blessed. If in doubt have a look at who else is driving in the divisions.

Based on the recent testing sessions on Axel's server I'd suggest that Sergio start in the heavy brigade as he was unable to match Axel and I for pace..... and I am the tail-end Charlie of the Light Brigade!

We are pretty sure to run this on one grid although we will separate the results afterwards.

About the pace Jason, I had my car extra loaded (fuel), I made 3 or 4 360 deg and last but not least I had to reset 3 times. It is true I didn't have your pace but...surely not 30 secs behind  ;)

You can't Cookie but you can manually edit the files - it'll take me an hour or so to do the necessary but that's why I get such a massive salary... <ahem>

@Clouds: password should be with the Lights - that is the second one down - the top password will be hidden as that is for the Heavies (but they are both the same!)

Hmmm - 2:29 - wonder how far that is going to put me last... Probably about fifteen seconds to find but I reckon I can only get about seven or eight. <sigh> Nice to be racing though!

Like I said unfortunately I shall be not of the party this evening because I'm not to my home. Soon I'll build up another PC to participate also at girlfriend home (risking to be fired as well  :P ;) )

P.S.: In the afternoon I've made 2:10.86 with BT7 and 15 liters of fuel (almost 4 gals).

Same for me Bernie - just let the leaders past and was hoping to catch Billy who had zoomed past after I had an engine failure - screen freeze.... aggggghhh.

Had an interesting first 10 laps and then I found myself alone with a 30 second gap ahead and 15 second gap behind.  Then I made a silly mistake on the penultimate lap which allowed Dave R to close right up on me.  I managed to pull a decent gap to avoid being draughted on the long downhill section but Dave was closing fast under braking so I stayed wide anticipating a move on the inside.  There was a bit of warp contact on my replay which pushed me onto the grass and I lost the rear which caused me to spin taking Dave out.  Sorry about that.  Grats to the podium and to Ron on a stunning fastest lap.

The Heavy brigade will get more points than they expected because we still need to split the points. That is why there are two identical results - only one mod though ;)

Seems it might be a slight problem as I had the same thing happen (screen freeze that is ) on the thursday practise server  :-\

 ::) so lots of screen freezes ... I got one during qually ....does that mean its not to blame  my PC ?
time will tell , still my new Win 7 give me some surprises randomly .

No problem Phil, but it seems you car was warping (with lot of lags, I don't know the correct word).
I saw your engine in fire after our collision on the last turn of the last lap. did you do a shift-R, then ?

Also a big misunderstanding with Juha, he was close behind me and, as I know he is really quicker than me, I decided to slower and to go at the outside of the turn, so he could easily overtake me if he went at the apex of the turn.  but it did not work like this, sorry Juha !  

Bathurst is afaik on the black list (http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=4540&view=findpost&p=33468) of the tracks with issues...
I had a freeze in the training sessions too, even as I sit in the next room to the server and my server froze in the F2 Cup!
Maybe we have to ask one of the track builders to have a look at this wonderful place of racing history...

Close Quali, with a difference of 4/100th I got the 5th place on the grid.
In the race I was a profiteur of the T1 mayhem and knew my lead would not last long ;D
First Attilio got me and when Clive had my tow it was a matter of time when he passes me.
But what a surprise when Jason caught me in the same corner as I had not seen him in my pribluda before  >:(
My pribluda informed me about the sudden loss of Jason, who would have deserved this podium!



 

It seemed more than one guy have had problems of freezes and CTD on this nice track. I've had nothing of these a few days ago when we raced but maybe Ginetto could take a look at this Track.

Oooh yes - you were Phil, not that I could have passed you anyway but it was like having Double Vision...
