The start lights don't appear to function here so watch the lap timer. Nice circuit and car selection, should be a corker.

Haven't tried the Porsche yet but the two Shelby offerings could be close.  The 350R is a little happier with the curbs.  Bit like a steamroller.  ;D

How y'all doin' ?

Just got back from a trip to the deep south of US, and after having had old rusty 18 wheelers trying to push me off the highway, even though I was doing 75 mph, I'm not afraid off ANYBODY no more ..... I'm tellin y'all  ;) (https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-16UcSpjXbNc/T6_OrL9BcfI/AAAAAAAAEvA/KFCmokGmWpQ/s912/18%2520wheelers.JPG)

If I loose my focus for this next race, I'll blame on the jetlag ;D

Glad you made it back in one piece Stig  ;D

Simple little track, and easy to learn, but has it's challenges. Keep off the kerbs is
a good plan, they will spin you round for fun. Some kerbing is required at the fast chicane
to get a good time though.

Mustang is a tad slower, but for me I was getting mid to high 1:09s in Cobra and 914
and high 9's to low 10's in Mustang.

I'll stick some easy setups on my site later for those that want a quickstart.

Sorry but I have been AWOL all night due to my Mains electric blowing the main fuse!

Spent the night in candlelight until Southern Electric turned up to rebuild my mains incoming board.

Hence no praccy for me. Going to have to put in some serious praccy before the race tomorrow now  :(

Thinking about taking the Shelby as a kind of honouring Carroll Shelby
who died on May 10th:

But no practice at all up to now.

Hello all !

My driver name is Solmyr, i'm known at SimJunkies and NoGrip above all. Geoffers and John mates indicated me the SimRacing.org PnG events as i was asking for some.
I let the sim racing thing on ice for a certain period, and really need to put back the feet on the pedalboard now....  :)

I would like to join y'all if you're ok. I didn't read the SimRacing.org driving rules apart from the chat ones (cause i don't have enough time here), that are perfect to my mind, exactly as i see the things. For all of the resting rules and the behaviour to adopt, i guess i'm ok as these rules simply are good sense, and i know them from other online events.

I now need a training, as i don't know this track i believe...  ;)

Grats to John and Henry.

I could see that you were close and was hoping for some contact to let me back into the fight after my early mistake.

Apart from one corner I drove a decent race but couldn't recover the gap to the front two.

I shall sadly miss next week's gallop so see you in a couple of weeks.

I found the Porsche a very odd car to drive. I didn't feel connected to the road and it's sound didn't seem to match it's performance IMO. Wouldn't choose it again but it was the easiest car to drive (for me) last night.

After have watched replay I realized that I have clipped Matt's rear and made him spin at T1 Lap1.
I'm really sorry, in race I didn't feel any contact.
At T1 braking point I pressed clutch pedal on my G27 (that one mapped to brake), but nothing happened so I pressed brake pedal (mapped on clutch), nothing happened again  :o so I went straight off track. Actually I forgot that GT350 don't brake at all on cold brake, very embarassed for that  :-[
Later I had a nice race trying to stay on track and giving room to lapper cars.
Cobra coupè was a bit too fast on straight, roadster would be more balanced IMHO.
Grats to John to push the Shelby so fast  :o
Ciao

Finally a finish again - although in last place but I had a nice kind of a battle with seniordan
throughout most of the race, could register a new pb and only some minor mistakes.
The Shelby 350 is much easier/better/funnier to drive than the Stangs and the Falcons in my opinion.
The Cobra would have been a choice too but was much more delicate concerning the curbes.

See you next week.

That was a lot of fun :) Got a good start, but Clive got off the line like a rocket and proceeded to stretch out the lead lap by lap. Ade was keeping pace for a while but then disappeared, not sure what happened there? Once Clive had spun I thought it was in the bag, but then noticed that Henry was gaining slowly, inexorably, getting closer and closer...

It took most of the race for the gap to come down, I got a couple of lucky breaks with traffic and one when he got a bit sideways coming onto the straight, which gave me a few more laps breathing space. He was on me with five laps to go, and all over me like a cheap suit with two laps remaining :o

Great driving from Henry :thumbup1: I'm sure there were a few times when he could have thrown it down the inside, but he drove a patient race and I was just about able to keep hitting those apexes and relying on the extra horsepower to pull me out of trouble on the straights.

Also, well done to Clive for climbing back up to 3rd place.

No worries Fulvio. I had forgotten that there was contact, I don't remember being spun, but then it
has happened so much recently I must be getting nonchalant about it  ::)

I don't have my test notes with me, but I remember that the Cobra roadster was either 2 secs slower or faster
than the Coupe at this track (with me driving it that is...) and the Coupe Willment (the red one) was at least a second faster
than the other Coupes. So that is why they were not used. Though I agree the Coupe was a little faster on the straight
than I would have liked. The mix seemed to work quite well I thought, some people even made the Mustang a race winning car.. :o

Have a go at the next Aussie one if you can (anyone that is) for me the two car choices are identical times up and down the Mountain
