Time of Day Setting: 14:00

Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk FIFT
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=358&theme=5)
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Wow - try to make this one.

Tony - you have mixed the dl -links :

Maserati leads to Ferrari testarossa
Monza leads to Maserati.

 ;)

But why not the Monza10km/Brianza circuit?

Both types of the 450S allowed (4.5L and 5.7L) ?

Did a few laps only in both types yesterday and reached nearly identical times which of course are
not representative yet  ::) , but in my opinion the 5.7L is much more difficult to drive.

And btw: really great sounds  :)

Great car, great track, great battle as long as it lasted, a new pb as usual but then one slight fault which led to an unexpected crash which destroyed my suspension  :(

Thanks for organizing, Tony  :thumbup2: :thumbup1:

Replay and results posted

I loved every second of that. Don't know how you did that Pelle, different class. Great scrap with Kurt and a bit with Alex as he made his way up through the field.

:) I love these cars....The skiny tyres .....The noise.....Excellent.  :) I thought I might have a good battle with Navin as we were very close in quali. Little did I know as Pelle gave Nav his set up pre race so other than the opening laps things were dead boring.

You should have given me your ace set up Pelle we could have had a magic 3 way battle then!  ;D ;D

Cheers
Mark

'Never a dull moment with the Maserati'

Unofficial LapChart (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/GTL/GTLegends_60smonza_2012_6_26_20_44/)

Never drove a more demanding car than the Maserati 5.7. It has it's own way of choosing the direction through the corner  :D
Made a rookie error in the first lap by looking in the mirrors rather than where to go on the track so I ended up in the barriers.
Then had fun chasing the 4.5 boys before blasting past them on the straight  ;D
Had some issues going through the corners (understeer, more understeer, snap oversteer, power oversteer, over-correcting oversteer) so Eifel and Tony haunted me down in the corners. Eventually saved by sheer powerrrr on the straights

At the end of the race my rear tyres were badly worn, a fact I never had to deal with with a front-engined car. Even the brakes were red hot just before the parabolica  :o

All with all a great car. Should have got more attention. Really beautiful mod especially for your sportscar fanatics (yes it is somewhat different than the E-Tron  :sleep1: Audi )

Good fun sliding that beast around  ;D. Pelle pretty much has that track hard wired. All the little tricks add up to big lap time improvements at tracks that have fast fast corners. And honestly Mark I was using Pelle's set all through practice. I just struggle at this place. Always have :-\. Plus I was tweaking the set and finally found a balance that worked for me. I need to update my gt-legends as I still have old garage for file sharing :(. I even joined mediafire to share my Cobra set for you Mark and ran into some problems and then ran out of time.. I'll get there eventually ;). The race was fun for the first few laps when I did my best John Force start and quickly found the cars handling with race fuel was lovely and put the hammer down and got a nice gap. I see by the lap times everyone liked the cars handling with some fuel. Pelle closed down on me and I knew I was done for but tried all the way..Note to self...  These narrow tired cars might like more fuel at the end just because they seem to put the power down better even with tires worn... Because mine at least was loose as ice for the last few laps  :o. A well deserved win so a big congrats to Pelle. Also congrats to Mark for a solid 3rd place. And thanks to all for keeping this series going. Fun cars on killer tracks people! Come on in the water is fine :D

Edit: Here's my Cobra set ;)

Edit again: fixed my online folders ;)

We did it 1-2 & 6  Grats Mark with third place. :thumbup1:

It surprised me with times in practice & qual...but Monza (especially this version from GPL) a track I hate to lose on.  :P
This car, it was almost as difficult to manage as a Lotus in GPL, the brakes were worse than in GPL. I know NRJ is a good old GPL driver & had a feeling we could do a 1-2.  8)
A little unfortunate perhaps, it was a somewhat lonely race for most, & all I could focus on was, NRJ was the top of front & run my own pace. Mark, we got to get something close 'really close' race anyway...some laps
Grats to all of you who tried & did their best in this heavy car  :thumbup2:

You should have given me your ace set up Pelle we could have had a magic 3 way battle then!  ;D ;D
Tip: You can move to TEAM-GTLDK  ;D ...or you could have downloaded the setup in Forum. To be honest, SRY, I did not think about putting it up in the Online Folder because it does not work for NRJ (Fortunately, it appears that the problem is solved now). Actually it is not my own setup, but one I got from Fred on Altbierbude servers at LeMans. I of course had to adjust it to Monza...& it fell successful.  :D
