Cars allowed: Any GT2 from the UKGTR car pack (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3356.msg54519#msg54519) v2.16.0.0

Track: Nordschleife 2007 V2.21 RC4 - VLN configuration, download from here (http://www.pilsbierbude.de/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,26/func,fileinfo/id,1503/lang,en/). You will need to sign up at Pilsbierbude.
Race Start Time: 14.00
Weather: Dry

Tyre wear: NORMAL
Fuel consumption: x2
Pit Stops: You must make a minimum of one pit stop during which you must take on at least 1 litre of fuel and/or change at least two tyres. You cannot take a mandatory stop at the end of the pace lap, or with less than 1 lap to go.

Notes:
(1) Please make sure you are fully aware of the UKGTR Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3349.0) - especially the speed limiter starting procedure and the rules about in-game chat messages.
(2) You will not be able to join the server without the car physics pack and track (see links above).
(3) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of everyone's connection will be reduced.
(4) Please use the Driver Details (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=profile;sa=driver_info) page to ensure that the league management software has your correct GTR2 'Driving Name' (not necessarily the same as your lobby name).
(5) The server will be set to 26 slots, not 28.

The final details for the race have now been established. 1st post has been updated.

7 Laps with a pit stop will gives us approximately a 1 hour race.

please note the earlier than usual start times for practice and qualy.

I know its not to do with this race but hows about a 2.5 hour race somewhere at newyear :-)

I have updated the 1st post to show the correct 'x2' fuel use.

The server has now been set to x2 fuel as well.

Whoa these cars are fast at the ring!  :o you get an amazing sensation of speed with the scenery so close  :)

With nobody to compare against, what top speeds are you guys getting down the huge back straight? Hard to tell if I'm running too much/little wing, not long enough gears etc.
I was hitting 171mph tops with a 3 wing.

175 mph in the M3 with wing 8 for me. I am thinking of trying lower wing settings though.

Top man H@L, it was my gearing thanks. Now peaking out at 175mph with 5 wing. Thank goodness as it was getting too loose on low wing settings!  :)

Sorry guys as much as I would love to race this I'm still in too much pain and can't concentrate long enough for this. I will be there for the next race though.

During the race the pit should be accessible from the end of the old ring without having to do an extra lap of the short version of the new ring. Just look for the pit entrance on the right.

It does come up fast you may want to practice it at least once.

If you do a 2 lap race off line and pit at the end of lap 1 you will see what I mean.

Errr... Just realised that the 1st post had been saying x2 tyres and normal fuel.

seemed to lose connection again at the same time as last week just before the end of qually. (except instead of getting the lost connection warning the game just hung in between qually and the race). not sure if there is a problem with my internet or if my computer doesnt like this track?

ah balls, i disco'd on lap 4  :taz:  not had that happen during a race in years  :'(  I was adjusting tyre selection in xd overlay when it happened (as was pitting end of that lap) so obviously a keypress or something fubared it. Gutted as was enjoying that and looked likely to be a great endurance race to the end with nsf, me, Pete and USa swapping places. (manteos and H@L were in their own race upfront  ;) )

Definitely helps running this same track over a couple of weekends with different formats so that your brain can fill in the lap sector info as you get more laps under your belt.
Can we do GT1 here next week?  ;D I fancy blatting a Vette around here. Failing that id like another GT3 round as my lastminute setup fooked my race up!

That took a lot of concentration from me to keep it together then.

Still got gt1 sgt500 lmp2 and fiestas to run there yet.

The green hell is always a great track for me.

Even with nobody to fight against, I really enjoyed during the race, pushing a lot to see the limit of this Pork, that is too high!

Hope to see this track soon, with a larger grid. It really deserves some more drivers. If the P&G v3, will be released before xmas, I'm planning another team event in VDA on this track. Let's hope now :)

Historics racing is always great at this track imo  8)  Love watching footage of the 'Old timer' races here.

Some 70's action here with P&G3 would be cool, though just as much chance of racing unicorns around it at present  ::)
