It's best if you create a standalone GTL install (copy your GTL to a temp folder, rename it e.g. REAL GTL, then copy back to your usual directory. Path the install to the new REAL GTL you have just created).  Install ver 1.0 first then update with the ver 1.3 install. Run the sim and purchase the cars.
We will not be able to use any skin packs with this mod.

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Flagman start on RH side of track. Advise having countdown turned on.

Tony, getting a mismatch when I go to start driving.  Don't recall any probs last time we raced here, have there been any updates I've missed?  ???

No updates Bill. I've checked the server and that's fine. I tried myself online and received no miss-match messages. Suggest you delete your 70's Silverstone from your locations folder and download again?

EDIT: The cars should be parked up behind the pits not in front of them. We did get a new track file in September 2012 so perhaps I was wrong to say that we had not had a new update, sorry my bad. But still my advice is to delete and replace. Also delete any associated .hat files.

Thanks Tony -  earlier version, UNINSTALLED and downloaded latest version car is now behind pits and no mismatch.

Dammit, I forgot that Gamefront only gives a limited time for uploads before they get wiped. Can anyone else provide the files required? I can re-do the uploads but it won't be until tonight, when I get home from work. I'll see if I can hunt down the original links this lunchtime.

Hi Tony  (i just get connection closed gamers-crib)using Opera or  Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage. Do not worry i will hopefully race with you guys at a later date if you have an open server and i will be a GTL nube.
 

I just used IE and went straight to a save/run prompt. Shame you won't make tonight tho. I'll see if I can upload to Gamefront now.

Hi Tony    Thanks got file from your new link, works fine just tried a couple of laps on your server, 1.56 ish Falcon, will prob miss praccy as out but will make qually and race if ok with you guys, will try not to get in way if you all start to lap me.
1 question will i have to pit?

Also, what time is the server open for practice or have I just missed it...

No mandatory pit required in these races and no reason to do so unless you need to repair damage.

Should be ok for this if I don't get dragged down the pub. Will be very warm though so hope my pc (and me  :sweatdrop:) are up to it.

Server is running now I believe.

It is usually restarted for official pracci at around 7:20 UK time.

Est. 10 seconds (Stop and Go!) and it held me there for 40 seconds.

Thanks for race guys , i have obviously got a lot to learn about these cars, got taken out on 1st lap by Bill i think and then he disconected, it was no prob Bill you should have stayed, i did not have quick chat set up to reply no prob. Enjoyed the race but a bit lonely at the back, hopefully i can improve by next race. 

 Sorry Bill ruining your race,yes i did brake early, one of my faults in GPL also.

Tony always puts a server replay posted in the replays section when he does the results.

Nice race tonight with some nice clean side by side action early on with Hristo (welcome back) until he eventually pulled clear and left me to concentrate on keeping a gap back to Ross. H backed off towards the end which allowed me to close a little, but I was never going to have the pace to get past. Quick car that Falcon  ;)

Nice to see some new faces on the grid, seems like good old GTL still has some life left in it....innit  :)

BTW the next race is at Rouen (same as tomorrow nights GPL  ;)) in "The Fifties" series.

Last time we raced the Fifties series here we had a superb event. I would urge you all to have a little practise as these cars can be quite a handfull.

I lost 2-3 races before I figured that out, lol. You have to quickly select the options in the pop-up menu once you stop in the pits, then press enter (if I recall correctly). It's best to do some practice pitstops in an offline race and see how it is.

Good race otherwise, sorry to whoever was behind me on the start - I was pressing the paddle to shift into 1st even though I am using the gear lever stick. Got distracted by almost missing the race.

Had some nice battles early on, particularly with goldtop, but eventually pulled away and then went into tire saving mode so I could push for a fastest lap near the end.

You can assign whichever buttons/keys you want. This example has the arrow keys assigned to the various functions. I have never used the pit in request. Does it even work? Nien

You are always welcome to come and join us at UKGPL as well. We seem to have some nice cross seeding going on.

I am mulling over a UKGTL vs UKGPL competition one weekend. GTL mid 60's GTL sports cars at Silverstone and then 65 GPL Grand Prix cars at Silverstone! That might be fun!

Hi prob wrong place (read your pit stop post) all that ok BUT (You can assign a button/key to show a "Slowing to Pit" message to warn following drivers.) how do you do that, and see one can assign keys to chat 1 to 10 but what do they say or how to put text in them? please

You need to study your menu screens more closely.

After I hit you, I thought what an introduction to our GTL racing and quit in disgust.  As your lap times were much better than mine I assumed you would be quicker through the corners than me.  I'm also an early braker and often get hit from behind so I didn't anticipate a problem following you.

Knew that I should go with the Falcon or Mustang to get a decent race but my heart ruled my head and I took the Lotus Tina instead. Was never going to keep up with the V8 boys but loved every lap. Next ones Crystal Palace, should be a cracker.

Tony, you say the Pit Request function doesn't do anything, but in rFactor (which uses the same engine), if you don't press it early enough prior to pitting, your pitstop length is longer. Did they turn that off for GTL? It's supposed to simulate a surprise pitstop delay when you don't press it on time, i.e. when you suddenly decide to dive into the pits.

I belive it's a hand me down from GTR. I'll test it out and report back.
