Post by: Wiltshire Tony on November 13, 2012, 12:57:16 PM +0000
All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (22 laps)

Track: 1960's Oulton Park International Circuit Download this (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358.msg81636#post_oultonpark60s)

Cars allowed: Ford Mustang, Lotus Cortina, Austin Mini Cooper from here The Real GTL mod 1.0:
http://downloads.gamers-crib.com/Sim%20Racing/GTL/Mods/RealMod/RealMod10.exe or here http://www.gamefront.com/files/21168781/RealMod10_exe

and update (to ver 1.3): http://downloads.gamers-crib.com/Sim%20Racing/GTL/Mods/RealMod/RealMod13update.exe or here http://www.gamefront.com/files/21168219/RealMod13update_exe

It's best if you create a standalone GTL install (copy your GTL to a temp folder, rename it e.g. REAL GTL, then copy back to your usual directory. Path the install to the new REAL GTL you have just created).  Install ver 1.0 first then update with the ver 1.3 install. Run the sim and purchase the cars.
We will not be able to use any skin packs with this mod.

Time of Day Setting: 15:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk BSCC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=377&theme=5)

Special Notes: Avoid going off at Knickerbrook. There is a hole in the surface that you may fall into. Also avoid the RH side of the track by the first tree on the RH side after the pit lane exit. There is an invisible obstacle there.

Having Deja Vu... this was a giggle in the Escort. Sadly I will be getting Christmassy in a pub...

You never know, I might make it and my driving might improve  ;D

New PB in qualifying but just couldn't stay on the black stuff.  Lost concentration and jumped barrier - early bath.  Disappointing end to Season 13  - base drum on roof rack could have caused problem.  ::) ;) ;D

One of the best three car, race long battles, I've ever had. Compliments to Kurt and Roger, everyone of us had the lead at some part of that race.

I need to check the replay to see if I need a mod but that doesn't take anything away from the excellent driving tonight.

Well done guys, that was a real pleasure.

Oh and replay and results now posted  ;)

Grats to Goldtop for Season 13 British Saloon Car Championship win.

My most enjoyable GTL race to date, some great close racing with Kurt and Tony.

Yeah - great race and Tony had some incredibly fast laps midway through the race to come closer to me.
Hadn't expected that  ::) Nice fight then. During last lap I was a bit too fast at Cascades, came onto the green
and touched Tony when bouncing back on track. No idea whether he lost contol due to this contact - however
deeply sorry for that. Had hoped for a very close three car finish. Compliments to Tony and Roger.
Looking forward to the new season!
