Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk GTC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=375&theme=5)

Special Notes: Free car choice this race only

A suggestion Tony as from the current announcement it looks like the cars are still being finalised for this series...

As some of us hate the stang (that's me) and others aren't keen on the RSR, please could we have an extra car that we can choose in place of these? We could still limit the choice to 4 cars per driver and I'd even be happy to race at the back with one of Clive's "roller skates"

Hmm, at first I was opposed to this, but thinking about it on the drive home the idea grew on me. So, as the replacement car mustn't be seen as being better than the car it replaces, I would propose the following changes.

Drivers who don't want to take the Porsche 911 RSR 3.0 may instead take the Porsche 914-6 No.370. And drivers who would prefer not to take the Boss Mustang, may instead choose the No.86 De Tomaso Pantera.

BTW the cars are finalised. I'm just building up the tension by not revealing what the new cars will be, X Factor stylee.

Thanks for the heads-up GT. The Filefront link worked for me when I tried it just now. However we are in the process of updating all our download links so I'll get this one replaced asap.

EDIT: New download link provided

Sorry to be asking, but I just tried to get on the server ot check things, but had a 'car not present on server' message.

I've taken the car links from the top of the thread, and installed them, and all seemed fine.

Oddly, when I join the server car choice section, I don't see the Alfa (though i can run it fine offline), and I have Merc300SEL's, and BMW 2002ti's in my car choice list, as well as the Boss Mustang, Scirocco, and Porsche.

I must done something wrong, but not sure what. Any ideas welcome.

Just getting the ukgtl skins again, in case it's something to do with that.

Sorry Guys. Let me go check this out. BRB.

EDIT: Please try now and let me know if you still cannot see all of the cars, thanks. (The Alfa needs a clone car to be made available, they just don't tell you which one it is.)

not that it happens much these days, but Phil might get to play again sometime

Replay and results now posted.

I witnessed several instances of track cutting tonight. Can drivers please take care when cornering. Two tyres should be kept on the tarmac at all times. We don't mind which two.

Congrats to Jules on his first Podium

A perfect track/car combo for me. Always like these more technical tracks and the RSR seemed ideally suited (and the quickest). Was a bit concerned about my not so good starts recently managed to get away ok and eek out  a decent lead after a few laps. Kept concentration to the end for a comfortable win really.

Well done to Mark for good pressure early on and to Jules for a good drive back to grab a pody.

Nice opening points for the Kerbies  :)

:) Did my best with this car I hate so much but just could not make any impression on Goldtop. Pushed to hard and the tyres started to go off giving Goldtop an even greater gap so played safe in the end a finished P2.  ;)

I have to say the Scirrocos look really good on track but the one I drove in practice had a lot of understeer.  ;) With this car mix it may make for an interesting championship.  ;D

PS Get well soon Navin I missed my pace man.  ;)

I figured the 911 would be maybe the car to go for, but with limited practice, and not a track I've ever driven much (but a decent one :-)), I struggled to hold on to the back in an a few key corners, so I opted for a car I could lap a steady pace with.  I tired the Scirocco, but until last night, I'd never realised that they were FWD cars, which is probably stupid of me, but heck...this was the 70's  :)  I'm no FWD fan, and usually kill the fronts, so chose to give that one a miss, and the Alfa, although a lot of fun, was a bit down on power.

Ended up in no-mans land a bit, with the 911's ahead, and the Scirocco/Alfa's a bit further back.

The key interest was with Oliver in his mighty quick Scirocco.  Early on, I couldn't hold on to his pace, but as the race progressed, it looked (maybe) like his fronts were beginning to go, as the gap reduced from 8 secs to just over 4, and there was still over 10 laps to go.  Things were looking interetsing, but then it looked like Oliver went deep into T1, then left the server.  Could have been a DC I guess, but a shame nonetheless.

Ended up ina quiet P4.  Well done to all finishers and goldtop for the win.

Tried a couple of Scirrocos and thought they handled really well, was a joy to get a bit of
lift off oversteer into the fast corners and pull the nose round in 4 wheel drifts under power
I think the one I raced with was not the fastest, it was listed as a bit more power and a bit more weight
the gear ratios were weird compared to the other one, and it seemed a tad slower.
Great fun though, trying to dodge "Suicide Syd's" wild lunges   ;D and then keep Tony behind as my
fronts went off later. Good stuff.

Enjoyed the Alfa in off-line practise so used it in the race too. Nice to drive and can be thrown around and remains rock steady with no inclination to spin etc. But is a bit down on speed but this might depend on the circuit. Be good to try at a less twisty track. Tried to catch Matt for the entire race (it seemed) but he was just too quick. Kept Syd behind me until the very last lap when I spun due to very worn tyres (XP had the front on 12 and the car was very difficult to turn tightly).

Great fun the Scirocco. New pb in praccy and quali each.
Never tried the car with racefuel so it looked a bit different
in the beginning. Had an early turner but was able to close up
to Tony again after another new pb.
But then front tyres began to worsen and I had another off so
the rest of the race was the usual back end but finally a finish again.

Tried some different versions of the Scirocco in free practice and finally
choose the Gr. 2 because I had the feeling that the TransAm has a more
disharmonious gearbox.

Yep, you are right Tony, track cutting was a factor with me too, but I felt
that on this track the cutting makes you rather slower than faster.
I'll have a look at the situation during my fastest lap.

Looks to be an interesting series. At least two cars suitable for me  ::)

edit: as assumed my fastest lap was barely proper  8)
