Title: UKGPL Season 23 (2012) Porsche Cup (GT) - Norisring - Nov 16
Post by: Cookie on November 13, 2012, 03:51:36 PM +0000
WELCOME to the UKGPL Season 23 - Porsche Super Cup - Race 8

We celebrate our 3rd season with the attractive PSC Team Championship and I hope we will have fair, clean and close racing.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The 8th race of this season will be at the Norisring,
a very short circuit at Nürnberg on the old Reichsparteitagsgelände around the VIP stand where those nazis held their ceremonies >:(

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
We have the Rolling ZONE for the start where a moderate speed of maximum ~ 75 mph (125 kmh) is required and no overtaking is allowed. (Read the registration thread!)

Guidelines for rolling starts...

The car on pole will lead off the grid and maintain a steady pace for the "rolling zone" around 75 mph (125 kmh)
All drivers should form up in single file behind him leaving 3-4 car lengths between each car.
There is NO OVERTAKING on the "rolling zone".
It is the reponsibility of the lead car to ensure that all drivers are with him as he approaches the final "rolling zone" corner.
Racing and overtaking begin AFTER the Start and Finish line!

Any driver who loses his position in the "rolling zone", by going off or through contact with another car ( regardless of fault) must rejoin at the back of the field.
Incidents on the "rolling zone" will be fully modded and anyone found to have caused another competitor to lose position through bad driving will be penalised appropriately.
Also, please make sure that you know which car you should be following on the "rolling zone", so that you do NOT get out of position.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

There will be full moderation of the Red Zone and reported incidents for the rest of the race.

Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.
Full time team drivers have priority access to the server.
Driver lists can be found on the Porsche Super Cup (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=369&theme=6) championship standings page.

Not a track I like. I stayed until the entire field had lapped me. Took longer than I thought it might ;)

You NEED the fix. It isn't optional for the Porsche.

Not a track I like....

Yes, same here, but I made a pretty solid setup that allowed save braking into the hairpins and looong gears to survive. ;)

Sorry Marco for the touch in the hairpin, some Moderators have to judge!  ::)

The replay can be downloaded.

this track was difficult to overtake, then an attitude like   this would be penalized

Maybe you should have a look at the replay...

Shutting the door like this is not an attitude for a fair driver!

But let the mods do their work!!!

I will look at this Marco but the forums aren't always the best place to debate it. Although it can be entertaining!

Marco only expose his point of view, he don't offended or accused no one.

Cookie point himself as cause of accident, please, take your job fairly, don't cover your arse before facts and do not put words in the mouth of others that they hadn't say...

The place to put your view of a disputed incident is, generally, not the forum.

I am unclear how I am 'covering my arse' since I am asking people NOT to discuss it so that I get an unbiased view.

I most certainly did not put words in anyone's mouth and I am unclear why you think I did. I do not think that either driver was well advised to post what they did about this.

As for doing my job fairly, I stand by every judgement I make since I can be 100% certain I make them honestly and impartially.

I try to explain better, pardon my horrible english.

Coockie write:

and this is a way he, not you, cover his arse.

Nobody put your honesty or your work in doubt but nobody start a dispute: one driver apologize for his conduct envisaging that he must be judged, the other replies that he was hit and have no doubt about.
No offenses, no swearing, no dubt about the jury, no doubt about facts.

Ah ok, Roberto. I did wonder if there was some Ital-glish going on.

Just for general info, any incident is looked at by the series moderator (but moderators cannot look at their own incidents). Some are very clear cut and they are easily dealy with but others are more difficult to call. The better the driver the tougher the call usually. In these cases, as a Moderator, I ask other moderators to take a look at the incident and we try to come to a consensus.

If the driver is unhappy they can appeal and then we look at the incident very closely with a panel of up to four senior moderators who will examine the incident frame by frame.

In this case, I am ruling on this one and Cookie has no input whatsoever which is why I said it might have been better not discussing on the forum.
