Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk GTC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=375&theme=5)

As no one else has put up any times yet, thought I'd better start the ball rolling.  ;D Just done a 18 lap tyre wear run mostly in the 1:41/2 bracket with a PB  on the last lap of 1:41.08.

Am I the only one practicing here - it is the 9th Dec tomorrow, isn't it? ::) Managed to work down to 1:38.7 with qualifying fuel load.  :sweatdrop: :thumbup1:

I'm afraid I've given up on GTL  :(

Last night I tried creating separate installs for the various mods we are running next season without success. Similar problem to a couple of weeks ago (and I think others here and elsewhere have had iirc) where certain cars take over the installation. Very frustrating.

In a dizzy fit I deleted everything except my new clean Steam install not realising that my setups were not saved in there  >:(

Not having much joy with pcs at the moment. Just tried installing the sound card from my old system and it all crashed. Had to rip it out and do a system restore to get it working again  ::)

Have a great season finale at Fuji and sorry I won't be there to be part of it.

The problem with certain cars taking over the install has been solved in the past by checking that your Windows 7 GTL has not been set to run in compatabilty mode e.g. set to run as Windows XP.

Right click on the GTL desktop icon and select Properties, then select the Compatability tab. Compatability mode box should be un-ticked. Hope this helps. We can't afford to lose you  :'(

BTW your "lost" setups should be in your recycle bin. Right click it and choose open. Then look for the files and right click on them and choose Restore.

If they are not there then download a free deleted file recovery software. You may already have PC Inspector file recovery installed, you just don't know it.

PS I've also read that you need to place your installs outside of C:/Windows or C:/Program files and make sure your set as Administrator. I created a separate drive (e:) which all my sim-racing stuff is kept on.

I seem to have sorted this lot out now. I checked my clean Steam install and it was not running in compatibility mode, so I'm not sure what the problem was  ???

Anyway, I installed the V8 pack in its own install again (one of the mods that was causing problems last night) and it's fine. Had a quick test in all the cars at Dijon Short and they all drive very well.....looking forward to the series  8)

I'm also up and running for Fuji and managed to find a setup for the RSR from the email I sent to Bill. I haven't looked into retrieving the rest yet as I always keep my recycle bin empty.

Thanks for the help again Tony  :thumbup1:

Thanks Tony, 5 secs  off pace - must do better, story of my life!

Driving Alfa gt, was given copy of Boss Mustang for last race in this Series. I find my Alfa setup allows me to put power down much earlier - more confident driving Alfa than sooped up Beetle. :D

Don't worry Bill - a very tricky track for me.
1.35.7 in the BOSS, 1.37.6 in the Scirocco (which seems very difficult to drive here)
and not competitive at all in the Alfa (all offline).
I think I still have to check the Pantera.

CU tomorrow.

Have to agree with Eifelblitz. It is not a really difficult track, but somehow it is easy to run off every other lap or so. This version is also hard on my (ancient) system. I got only 17 fps at turn two... :-\ the rest seems okish for me. I hope it stays driveable with other cars on track. Anyway, i'll switch down to dx7 or 8 for this one.
As i am on baby-sit duty tonight, i am not sure if i can make the start. Hope to see you all tonight.

Try reducing the in-game graphic options and start with Shadows.

Thanks Tony for another intriguing Series, congrats on another 2nd - I think you've had Podiums in all the Championships.   Congrats to Tudor for winning the Championship.  ;D Another Trophy for the Kerbies Cabinet.  :thumbup1:

Not one of my better nights, couldn't match my unofficial practice times nor consistency on the night too many unforced errors.  ::)

Just could not get the setup for the Porsche quite right. Probably have been better if I hadn't fiddled around so much. I meant to give the other two porkers a closer race but a misshap on lap 1 left me last and I spent the remainder of the race catching up and passing everyone up to Postal who I was never going to catch.

Car felt better the more laps I drove but it was always a gamble getting the braking sweet spot for turn 1. BTW it was good of Kurt to fall of the track just as I was passing  ;)

A very nice season ender at the wonderfully scenic Fuji circuit  8)

Thanks to Tony for all the hard work and well done to all who took part this season. Lets hope we can have a few more faces on the grid next year as these races deserve it. Everyone spread the word  :)

Bad luck for me - my plan was to stay behind the Porkas in fourth position
in order to win third place in championship but I reckoned without one's host.
Some individual mistakes and a remarkable decline in tyres and brakes with
the BOSS forced me to slow down and I was no longer able to follow roguk after
he had passed me.

However it was fun on this tricky track.

Congratulations to GT for winning the championship, Tony for 2nd and Bill for
3rd place.

And again thanks to Tony for organizing all these great series - highly appreciated!
Looking forward to season 14  ;)

Grats Goldtop on race win and championship winner.

Thanks to Tony for setup, adjusted gearing for 5 speed box and after a few laps got my time down from 1.37+ to 1.35+, enjoyed the race nice track and the vw was a great drive.
