It's best if you create a standalone GTL install (copy your GTL to a temp folder, rename it e.g. REAL GTL, then copy back to your usual directory. Path the install to the new REAL GTL you have just created).  Install ver 1.0 first then update with the ver 1.3 install. Run the sim and purchase the cars.
We will not be able to use any skin packs with this mod.

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read

No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Assume it is the Nurburgring GP track? What sort of time in the Mini? Although I am not certain I have brought the 970S. Definitely got the Fiat and the Renault though.

No. it's the Nordschleife. That's why there's only 5 laps.

Ah - missed that. The reason I asked is that I have installed the track but I couldn't see it on the list - is it actually listed as Nordschleife?

Tony, last time we raced here you showed us a short cut to get back to start so as to avoid a full lap before timed lap.  Is it working now?  I tried it and got two warnings "Wrong Way" and then later a "Cut Track Warning" and the new lap would not count. ??? :rockon:

no it's called 1970's Nurburgring or 70's Nurburgring

I think you always get the wrong way message but ignore it. Don't go too fast and join the main track without jumping over any grass and you should get by without a cut. Just depends on your line of entry.

Spent too long trying to practice with wrong car - Mini.  :o After much trying only managed a couple of timed laps.  :( First (and only) lap in Elite was 20 secs faster than that.  ;D Got too confident, able to throw it about a bit.  Passed Tony then braked too late ran wide and hit one solid road sign - early bath again.  >:( :thumbdown:

Well - had some adventures joining and couldn't find the cut back so no time for a qually lap. Knew the layout from GPL but it IS subtly different and I missed the sharp corner under the bridge... so did Eiffelblitz but his generosity in staying with me finished there. Lap 2 and I launched into outer space with some weird cloud effect... fun though.

Unexpected nirvana in lap 4 just behind Bruennchen ended my race  >:( .
Very smooth drive with some mistakes and a new pb of 10:4.9 in
lap three.

Paul, if I had known you would take the mini I'd have shared my setup. Yeah I'd love to do the Nords in GPL. Don't think I'd finish a lap tho.

Nice fun race. Started well battling with Bill till his car impacted a road sign and with Kurt. In fact Kurt and I kept swapping places due to errors/offs etc. However I kept turning the car over at the same spot, three times in a row (new level of stupid for me). The third time I lost a rear wheel so had to do half a lap as a 3 wheeler. Pitted and finished eventually. How nice of Matt and Goldtop to wait for me to get home (almost 75% of a lap) before chatting and leaving. Real Gentlemen drivers, thanks chaps.

I still can't get my head round the chat - do you guys just type a message into that screen that has set messages? And where is the chat? I find the post race chat an essential part of GPL and I would love to join in in GTL but I couldn't work out where it was.

Mind you, took me a while to work out that the password was 'classic' as I was trying to use 'the usual practice password'....  ::)

Good one. GT and I were similar pace and it was just a question of who took longest to get back on the track
over and over  ::) Had some great chases, and finished just 4 tenths apart!
I have XD but no lap count, so I'm following GT down the final straight thinking, "right I'll have a go at him on the next
lap" and as we went over the finish the race ended!  :o

Default chat key is "C" but I have foolishly mapped C to clutch, so every time I try to chat the car slows down
and the engine screams.....

To chat whilst in the pits look for the "CHAT" button located under (bottom right) the drivers list area of the screen.

I have no idea how guys type chat and drive at the same time.

Thanks Tony. This series really does deserve a bigger following and I will see if I can get some of the GPLers to come to. Tracks are familiar and the cars drive rather like the GPL cars albeit somewhat slower. Interesting journey trying to learn how to control both types to the limit.

I lost all my ffb as we went to grid and found it difficult to judge how hard to push which caused a few errors. My xd was also playing up with Matt showing as DNF all race, so I had no way of knowing gaps between us during the race. Didn't realise you drove with no ffb all the time Matt  :o

I have it enabled, but very light, sometimes (game and which PC I am on dependent) it's hardly there at all.

Available as a digital download on Steam (£4.99) and gets you straight to the Simbin lobby (where we race). Just need to add the unlock everything/loads of money fix, brighter headlamps and your good to go. XD can then be added once everything else is tested and OK.
